Chairman Xi Jinping Deploys Rarely Seen Linguistic Weapon at G20 That Shrinks Justin from Canada

If you have not watched this video, you really should.  Justin from Canada leaked the content of a private bilateral conversation with Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping to the media.  Chairman Xi was not happy with the breach of diplomatic protocol.

What makes this video remarkable is the purposeful decision by Chairman Xi to confront Justin from Canada in front of a western audience.  Xi never speaks directly in public and is always aware of cameras. The Chinese Chairman almost always goes through spokespeople to relay his public communication, reserving his voice for controlled and disciplined conversation with national leaders.   However, not this time.

Chairman Xi dresses down Justin from Canada publicly, in view of cameras and microphones. Watch, and stay with it to the end when Justin from Canada awkwardly looks for somewhere to hide.  It’s quite funny.  WATCH:

South Africa Confirms Likelihood of Saudi Arabia Joining BRICS Economic Alliance

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on October 17, 2022 | Sundance

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa held a two-day summit with Saudi Arabia on mostly economic matters.

At the conclusion of the summit, he confirmed the intent of Saudi Arabia to join the BRICS economic coalition, which should not come as a surprise given the previous statements by Saudi leader and Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman (MbS).

(MSM) Ramaphosa confirms Saudi Arabia wants to join Brics family.  This was revealed by President Cyril Ramaphosa during his two-day state visit to the kingdom on Sunday.

“The Crown Prince (prime minister Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud) did express Saudi Arabia’s desire to be part of Brics and they are not the only country,” said Ramaphosa. He confirmed this on Sunday during an engagement with the media.

Brics held its first summit in 2009, with SA joining the following year. The bloc has generally been seen as an alternative to the dominance of the western economies.

“We did say that Brics having a summit next year under the chairship of South Africa in SA and the matter is going to be under consideration.

“A number of countries are making approaches to Brics members, and we have given them the same answer that it will be discussed by the Brics partners and thereafter a decision will be made.” (read more)

Since the outset of the Western Alliance sanctions against Russia, we have been predicting an increased geopolitical influence from the BRICS team.  A global financial and economic cleaving is underway created by the western nations chasing ideological climate change energy policy, while the rest of the world remains pragmatic toward oil, coal and natural gas as energy resources.

We have been closely monitoring the signs of a global cleaving around the energy sector taking place.  Essentially, western governments’ following the “Build Back Better” climate change agenda which stops using coal, oil and gas to power their economic engine, while the rest of the growing economic world continues using the more efficient and traditional forms of energy to power their economies.

(July 2022) […] “This accession, if Saudi joins it, will balance the world economic system, especially since the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the largest exporter of oil in the world, and it’s in the G20,” Hamed said. “If it happens, this will support any economic movement and development in the world trade and economy, and record remarkable progress in social and economic aspects as Saudi Arabia should have partnerships with every country in the world.” (read more)

That would essentially be the end of the petrodollar, and -in even more consequential terms- the end of the United States ability to use the weight of the international trade currency to manipulate foreign government.  The global economic system would have an alternative.  The fracturing of the world, created as an outcome of energy development, would be guaranteed.

Keep in mind, in early June Federal reserve Chairman Jerome Powell stated, “rapid changes are taking place in the global monetary system that may affect the international role of the dollar.”  {LINK}

The western alliance (yellow) would be chasing climate change energy policy to power their economies.  The rest of the world (grey) would be using traditional and more efficient energy development.  The global cleaving around energy use would be complete.

This is not some grand conspiracy, ‘out there‘ deep geopolitical possibility, or foreboding likelihood as an outcome of short-sighted western emotion.  No, this is just a predictable outcome from western created events that pushed specific countries to a natural conclusion based on their best interests.

You can debate the motives of the western leaders who structured the sanctions against Russia, and whether they knew the outcome would happen as a consequence of their effort, but the outcome was never really in doubt.  Personally, I believe this outcome is what the west intended. The people inside the World Economic Forum are not stupid – ideological, yes, but not stupid. They knew this global cleaving would happen.

For a deep dive on BRICS, as predicted by CTH, {SEE HERE}.  The bottom line is – the 2022 punitive economic and financial sanctions by the western nations’ alliance against Russia was exactly the reason why BRICS assembled in the first place.

Multinational corporations in control of government are what the BRICS assembly foresaw when they first assembled during the Obama administration.  When multinational corporations run the policy of western government, there is going to be a problem.

In the bigger picture, the BRICS assembly are essentially leaders who do not want corporations and multinational banks running their government. BRICS leaders want their government running their government; and yes, that means whatever form of government that exists in their nation, even if it is communist.

BRICS leaders are aligned as anti-corporatist.  That doesn’t necessarily make those government leaders better stewards, it simply means they want to make the decisions, and they do not want corporations to become more powerful than they are.  As a result, if you really boil it down to the common denominator, what you find is the BRICS group are the opposing element to the World Economic Forum assembly.

The BRICS team intend to create an alternative option for all the other nations. An alternative to the current western trade and financial platforms operated on the use of the dollar as a currency.  Perhaps many nations will use both financial mechanisms depending on their need.

The objective of the BRICS group is simply to present an alternative trade mechanism that permits them to conduct business regardless of the opinion of the multinational corporations in the ‘western alliance.’

The BRICS team, especially if Saudi Arabia, Iran and Argentina are added creating BRICS+, would indeed be a counterbalance to the control of western trade and finance.  This global cleaving is moving from a possibility to a likelihood.  If Saudi Arabia joins BRICS the fracture becomes almost certain.

Biden Angers China Yet Again

Armstrong Economics Blog/China Re-Posted Sep 21, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

As Americans, we are accustomed to our dementia-ridden commander-in-chief misspeaking and provoking war with major world powers. He nearly declared war on Russia, but the White House backtracked. The White House is now redacting almost everything that came out of Joe Biden’s mouth during his “60 Minutes” interview.

China is not going to let a comment by “Uncle Joe” pass without warning. Joe Biden said that US forces, men and women, would defend Taiwan if China invaded. This is worse than Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Taiwan as it completely disregards prior US-China relations and the One China policy. It does not matter if the US agrees with the One China policy, but it must respect it and maintain diplomatic relations with China, its top trading partner, while it restores its declining economy. This policy has been in place since 1979, and Joe Biden is the first to violate the agreement.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning reacted as expected to Biden’s threat. “The US remarks … severely violate the important commitment the U.S. made not to support Taiwan independence, and send a seriously erroneous signal to Taiwanese separatist independence forces,” Mao said. Mao said that China seeks a “peaceful reunification” with Taiwan. “At the same time, we will never tolerate any activities aimed at splitting the country, and reserve the choice to take all necessary measures.”

Joe Biden also gave Americans false hope by declaring that the pandemic was over. I think most of us realized it was over when the death rate was a nil 0.02%, and the vaccines did nothing to prevent infection or transmission. The White House came out to clarify that it has not changed its stance on COVID – emergency powers remain in place.

Putin: Xi is On My Side

Armstrong Economics Blog/War Re-Posted Sep 19, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

China is no stranger to Western alienation and hostilities. Putin is looking to strengthen his alliance with China by affirming that Russia will adhere to China’s domestic policies as long as China repays the favor.  “We intend to firmly adhere to the principle of ‘One China’,” Putin stated as Taiwan has become a hot topic. Putin went on to say that he “condemns provocations by the United States and their satellites in the Taiwan Strait.” China was bordering on neutrality until recently coming under fire for its One China policy. China can now see itself in Russia.

Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin met this Thursday in Uzbekistan for the first time since Russia invaded Ukraine. Both want to end NATO expansion and agreed to a “no-limits” partnership. Xi warned Biden at the beginning of the year that sanctions on Russia could cripple the global economy. The US warned China to stay out of its affairs but then provoked China by sending leaders like Pelosi to Taiwan. The New World Order first targeted Donald Trump in an effort to remove him from power. Putin is second on their list, followed by Xi.

China knows that the US is in a decline and is strategically placing its finances and policies accordingly. When I met with the central bank of China, they were not bureaucrats – they were traders. When I was asked by people in the US Treasury upon my return what it was like, I responded that they only hired people with experience. They sent everyone to work on trading desks around the world, and then they returned to China to run the central bank. The West hires academics who believe reading a few books is sufficient experience. Similarly, politicians no longer understand diplomatic relations and are willing to sacrifice the economy to uphold petty perpetual disagreements while demonizing opponents.

Millions of Chinese on Lockdown

Armstrong Economics Blog/China Re-Posted Sep 7, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

At least 65 people are dead after a 6.8 magnitude earthquake rocked the province of Sichuan. This comes as 21 million people in Chengdu are confined to their homes as China has placed yet another city on a strict lockdown to adhere to its zero COVID policy. In fact, 65 million people in 33 cities are on some level of lockdown in China.

The government places more concern on COVID than an actual natural disaster. Lockdowns create a domino effect. People began panic buying supplies after seeing the starvation and extreme rationing that occurred during the last lockdown when the government was unable to adequately provide supplies to those they confined. Businesses will suffer immensely. Children in at least 10 provinces will be unable to attend school until everyone tests negative for the virus.

Drones are flying around Chengdu, reminding the people to stay inside and obey. This is an example of what could happen when government has complete power over the people. It can also affect the global economy, as we saw when Shenzhen entered a lockdown, closed the ports, and prolonged the supply chain crisis. Government’s abuse of power is yet another reason why it is hard for the central banks to forecast economic recovery. According to our computers, the recovery will be a slow

Taiwan Panders to US with “Democracy Chips”

Armstrong Economics Blog/World Trade Re-Posted Sep 6, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen is eager to strengthen relationships with the US by producing more semiconductor chips. The US recently set aside funds specifically to build up domestic manufacturing, but shortages remain a serious problem. Taiwan’s growing relationship with America has angered China, and Ing-wen’s words will certainly be a subtle elbow to the One China policy.

“In the face of authoritarian expansionism and the challenges of the post-pandemic era, Taiwan seeks to bolster cooperation with the United States in the semiconductor and other high-tech industries. “This will help build more secure and more resilient supply chains. We look forward to jointly producing democracy chips to safeguard the interests of our democratic partners and create greater prosperity,” the president stated.

Democracy is exactly what China does not want Taiwan to have. After Pelosi opened the door, every politician seems to want to make a statement by visiting Taipei now. Arizona Governor Doug Ducey made an appearance in Taipei to discuss the aforementioned democracy chip venture. They also discussed helping to make the Indo-Pacific a neutral zone, which is unrelated to trade. The US continues to all but outright state they fully support Taiwan’s independence and China is taking note

Taiwan to Destroy Chinese Drones

Armstrong Economics Blog/War Re-Posted Aug 31, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

https://video.udn.com/news/1245480

The video above has gone viral, depicting Taiwanese soldiers throwing rocks at drones believed to be sent by China. Reports are circulating that Taiwan also allowed store-bought civilian drones to enter its airspace, which leaves many to wonder how they can compete against China’s military surveillance. Backed by the US, Taiwan is beginning to push back against China and its One China policy. The Ministry of National Defense (MND) has reported that they will begin to shoot down Chinese drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

The MND said that it plans to invest in anti-drone defense systems over the next four years to the tune of $141 million. There have been 23 drone spottings in Taiwan since Pelosi’s reckless visit. It should be worth noting that Taiwan donated 800 carpet bomber drones and 860 combat drones to Ukraine to combat Russia. China is taking notes from Russia, while Taiwan is taking notes from Ukraine. Why would Taiwan offer a vast quantity of drones to Ukraine if they are in need of their own protection?

The simple answer is that support from the US has emboldened Taiwan. They do not fear an escalation of tensions when US warships are passing through its waters. Time will tell how China responds as the One China policy is under fire.

Chinese Protestors Escape Facial Recognition with Lasers

Armstrong Economics Blog/China Re-Posted Aug 25, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

Welcome to the new world. Protestors in China have cleverly found a way to avoid police facial recognition software by pointing an array of lasers at the police. China has perhaps the most extensive facial recognition of any country. SenseNets, a facial recognitional company in Shenzhen, experienced an internal leak in early 2019. The database contained detailed information on over 2.5 million people, including their addresses, IDs, birthdays, and their movement around the country. Over 6.8 million locations were revealed during the leak, leaving everyone in the software completely exposed to hackers who could determine their exact location.

The government is not merely tracking the movement of criminals as everyone will eventually become part of a facial recognition database. China took measures a step further in 2020 by issuing each individual a social credit score that rates how well an individual adheres to the government. We are not free when the government can restrict our movements and assign us a score based on their personal criteria. Facial recognition software is extremely dangerous. Hackers made little effort to access SenseNets files, and in the wrong hands, anyone could be hunted down.

Although they’re less upfront about their plans, other countries plan to follow suit. Canada is rolling out its Digital Identification program, and the World Economic Forum has been advocating for advanced tracking measures. Expect additional tracking software to become commonplace throughout the modern world.
