Chile – The Outlook

QUESTION: Dear Mr. Martin Armstrong:

I hope you are well and enjoying your front-beach house, in the Sunshine State. I ask you:

1. What is better for U.S.A., right now?
2. Is a strong U.S. Dollar or is a weak U.S. Dollar?

I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Juan
Santiago of Chile.

CPNYNF Y 1784 2024

ANSWER: Potential risks in Chile include a global recession reducing demand for copper into 2026, political instability in Chile, and eventually, a stronger US dollar, making emerging market assets less attractive. While Trump wants a lower dollar to sell more widgets, the problem remains that the push for war in Europe provides an underlying demand for dollars. In addition, the EU is rushing to cancel the paper currency and move to digital as part of the capital controls that have been put on the plate. It does not matter what Trump wants for the dollar; neither he nor any country can alter the fate of the currencies, which are set in motion by many things, especially war.

In Europe, they are not about to suddenly surrender to their Marxist socialist agendas. “A New World Order With European Values” adorned the banners and signs at the World Forum meeting in Berlin. They have declared that the greatest threats facing humanity are the resurgence of populism and free speech. They are advocating silencing anyone who disagrees with them. Just amazing.

The LEFT is losing ground, so this is when they become more authoritarian. They justify themselves by saying that populist movements have victimized the people, so this also leads them to conclude that free speech must end.

This trend is dominant in Canada and Europe, and the countertrend has been Argentina and Trump in the USA. Despite Trump’s idea of a weaker dollar, the lack of common that has engulfed the LEFT, where they refuse to admit that they are ever wrong, will have a profound. impact on the next two years.

Chile’s politics will hinge on the constitutional process, economic management, and societal demands. President Boric faces a critical window to deliver reforms, but polarization and external pressures pose risks. The right could capitalize on setbacks, setting the stage for a contentious 2025 presidential election.

President Gabriel Boric (left-wing coalition Apruebo Dignidad) has been in office since March 2022. His administration focuses on social reforms, environmental policies, and reducing inequality. Challenges include managing economic stagnation, inflation, and public security concerns. The success in Argentina has the potential to become a contagion, and South America could rise as a restored economic land if it finally sheds the LEFTIST agenda that has stagnated the economy overall.

Mt Spurr Alaska – Activity Rising

Mt Spurr 1992

COMMENT: Marty, Here in Alaska, we have been put on alert that Mt Spurr may erupt soon. Your computer has been remarkable projecting these trend of rising volcanic activity here in 2025 and we are still in the first quarter. Do you have any historical analysis of Mt. Spurr?

Rob

REPLY: Mount Spurr, a stratovolcano in Alaska’s Aleutian Arc, had no confirmed historical eruptions that have been documented in human records prior to its significant 1953 eruption. However, geological studies reveal prehistoric activity:

  1. Holocene Eruptions:
    • The most recent major eruptive period occurred approximately 8,000–9,000 years ago, involving pyroclastic flows and lava dome formation that shaped the current structure of the volcano. These eruptions were identified through tephrochronology and radiocarbon dating of volcanic deposits.
  2. Late Pleistocene Activity:
    • Evidence suggests earlier eruptions during the late Pleistocene, though precise dates are less well-constrained. These events contributed to the volcano’s formation and growth.

It is under watch right now for a possible eruption. Before 1953, Mount Spurr’s eruptions were prehistoric, with no written records or observations. Mount Spurr’s prehistoric eruptions are primarily studied through geology, but their ash layers provide valuable tools for archaeologists.

The 1953 eruption of Mount Spurr in Alaska was classified as a VEI 3 (Volcanic Explosivity Index 3) event. This eruption on July 9, 1953, produced a significant Plinian ash column reaching approximately 21 km (70,000 feet) in height. However, the volume of erupted material (tephra) was estimated at around 0.021 km³, placing it within the VEI 3 range (0.01–0.1 km³).

There were earthquakes in 2004 and debris flows by 2005. That was 51 years from 1953. Since this should be fractal, I would suspect there was probably a big one around 5200 years prior. This could be building to a big one above VEI 5 by 2031/2032. It should be coming alive here of the 72-year cycle from 1953 which brings us to 2025. We may still be looking at a VEI3 or VEI4 for that would leave the door open for a bigger one by 2031/2032.

For comparison, Mount Spurr’s 1992 eruption was rated VEI3/VEI 4, with a slightly higher tephra volume (-0.055 km³) and a plume height of 14 km. The distinction underscores that VEI considers both eruptive volume and secondary factors like plume height and eruption duration. The 1953 event, while explosive and impactful, did not meet the volume threshold for VEI 4.

Understanding the VEI

Each VEI level represents a tenfold increase in erupted material (e.g., VEI 4 is 10x larger than VEI 3). Higher VEI eruptions produce taller plumes, injecting ash and gases into the stratosphere (VEI 5+ can affect global climate). More significant eruptions (VEI 5+) are less frequent but more destructive.

VEI 7: Tambora (1815) ejected 160 km³ of material into the atmosphere, thereby reducing global temperatures by -3°C, known as the Year without a Summer in 1816.

VEI 6: Pinatubo (1991) released 10 km³, causing global cooling by -0.5°C.

VEI 5: Mount St. Helens (1980) erupted 1 km³, but did not alter the climate yet it was devastating 600 km²

British Press Call for World War III?

At this stage in this game of warmongering, the British press not only keeps saying that Russia trembles less at the thought of their nuclear power but is pushing the image that Britain is invincible. The latest is the electrical fire that shut down Heathrow Airport for 24 hours. There are openly speculating that this was an act of war by Putin. So, I supposed that justifies World War III and nuking Moscow. The Telegraph wrote:

But as the West has expelled so many Russian spies in the years since then, Putin now relies on unprofessional foreign gangsters to carry out sabotage attacks across Europe. Some are Bulgarian spies, as The Telegraph reported in late 2024. Others are British nationals, such as 20-year-old Dylan Earl, who admitted to burning down a Ukrainian-owned business in west London.

Perfectly reasonable. Let’s torch all of the world for an electrical fire that shut down the airport for 24 hours. Starmer can destroy Russia in seconds, so no worries; Putin is terrified of Starmer and will not be able to retaliate. Hence, the Telegraph will sell heaps of more newspapers since the British Empire will rise again.

Prime Minister Urged to Declare “Emergency” After U.S. Stops Funding Australian Universities

Posted originally on CTH on March 22, 2025 | Sundance

If you find yourself wondering, wait, what, why are we funding Australian universities?  You are likely not alone.

Apparently, the U.S. government has been sending $6oo million/yr to universities in Australia to subsidize various college research programs.  The Trump administration has told Australia the funding will likely end.

The Australian university system is in a state of panic, telling their government to declare a “state of emergency”.

One particular quote from within the Sky News article below seemingly encapsulates the mindset of the situation in the land down under:

AUSTRALIA […] Last week after it was revealed the universities had been asked to justify their funding, the National Tertiary Education Union called on the government to “guarantee Australian researchers would be protected”.

“The federal government must push back on the Trump administration’s blatant foreign interference in our independent research in the strongest possible terms,” NTEU president Alison Barnes said. (Full Article)

One would think the NTEU would be happy for an enhanced opportunity for “independent research.”

Alas, it appears Mr/Ms Alison Barnes doesn’t quite understand the nature of the word “independent” within the relationship.  A little funny.

Tucker Carlson Interviews President Trump Emissary/Envoy, Steve Witkoff

Posted originally on CTH on March 22, 2025 | Sundance

Steve Witkoff is one of the most important people within the administration. Witkoff plays the key role of emissary and envoy for President Trump carrying his message to designated ears and returning with information.

It is certainly frustrating to the global operatives of the CIA not to have the ability to influence and control the messaging and information flow from and around President Trump. Without a doubt the use of envoys and emissaries has to be giving the Intelligence Community significant frustration headaches.

Within the interview Witkoff walks through what he has seen and discussed in numerous conflict zones. The majority of the interview focuses on the Israel-Hamas conflict, and Witkoff’s action toward negotiation peace, as a result of the question priority of Tucker Carlson. The remainder of the interview, approximately one-third, focuses on the Ukraine-Russia conflict.

Tucker Carlson also emphasizes the U.S. media attacks against Witkoff, which I would say are significantly overstated (motive unknown), distractingly so. Overall, a great insight into Steve Witkoff, President Trump and the peace agenda of the Trump administration, while simultaneously (oddly) you can sense Tucker Carlson is engaged with Witkoff with an intent to shape the conversation. WATCH:

I made the decision to trust my instincts and travel to Russia last year for 3-months of research. The reason was so we could discuss with clear-eyes and non-pretending terms the opportunities and challenges for the Trump administration in 2025.

I came away from Russia with an understanding the people there feeling sorry for the USA as they looked at our 2024 political dynamic.  The Russian Federation is not organized as an enemy of America or the American people. The Russian Federation is an enemy of the CIA.
