Lockdowns 20X Deadlier Than COVID

Armstrong Economics Blog/Disease Re-Posted Aug 23, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

The International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health published a study that found the lockdowns were deadly. In fact, the lockdowns were 20 times more deadly than COVID. The lockdowns were a mass human experiment. There was no evidence that indicated this method would be effective. We saw the impact that the lockdowns had on the global economy, but their effects on the human mind are now coming to light.

“The comparative analysis of different countries showed that the assumption of lockdowns’ effectiveness cannot be supported by evidence—neither regarding the present COVID-19 pandemic, nor regarding the 1918–1920 Spanish Flu and other less-severe pandemics in the past. The price tag of lockdowns in terms of public health is high: by using the known connection between health and wealth, we estimate that lockdowns may claim 20 times more life years than they save. It is suggested therefore that a thorough cost-benefit analysis should be performed before imposing any lockdown for either COVID-19 or any future pandemic.”

Forcing people into isolation is a tactic used in prison for punishment. Everyone’s mental health suffered as life as we knew it simply halted. People lost their livelihoods, were unable to see loved ones, and were forced to tip toe around society when they emerged for essentials. Kids fell behind in school and socialization. One of the most deadly aspects, however, was the way healthcare facilities managed COVID patients.

“The lockdown policies had a direct side effect of increasing mortality. Hospitals in Europe and USA were prepared to manage pretty small groups of highly contagious patients, while unprepared for a much more probable challenge—large-scale contagion. As a result, public health care facilities and nursing homes often became vehicles of contamination themselves—to a large extent because of the lockdown-based emergency policy implementation.”

Governor Cuomo of New York tried to hide the deaths that occurred in nursing homes. Over 9,000 infected patients in New York alone were discharged from hospitals and sent into nursing homes. This resulted in thousands of unnecessary deaths. No one was ever held responsible for that decision.

“Another comparison can be made if we remember that the average age of people dying of COVID-19 was around 80, with 3–6 QALY per death lost. Therefore, 500,000 QALY are equivalent to roughly 100,000 COVID-19 deaths. Even if we assume that lockdowns saved 1.5 daily deaths per million [20] for a whole year (365 days), after multiplying by 9.2 million (population of Israel) we arrive at about 5000 lives saved—just about 5% of the lockdowns’ human cost. In other words, it can be estimated that even if the lockdowns saved some lives, in the long term they killed 20 times more.”

There is no evidence to suggest that the lockdowns were effective. Even if the lockdowns worked as intended, they directly caused more deaths than they were intended to prevent.

Team Behind Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Purchase First National TV Campaign Ad

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on August 22, 2022 | Sundance

Purchasing advertising in the national market.  The new marketing and branding group behind Florida Governor Ron DeSantis purchase ad time on Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity broadcasts.  Marketing nationally, and purchasing expensive full minute ad buys targeting the Fox News audience, is confirmation DeSantis has unofficially entered the 2024 campaign race.

All doubts about DeSantis ’24 should be put to rest.  As CTH has noted since August 8th [SEE HERE], the professional political managing of Ron DeSantis for a presidential run has become increasingly clear.

The Florida governor went silent following the raid on Mar-a-Lago, sending one tweet from his private account, then remaining in a bunker for the next five days.  No doubt he agreed to stay silent at the guidance of the club managers behind his new political construct [that group almost certainly likely knew in advance of the FBI raid]. He exited the bunker with a new press secretary and national brand image launch.  Here’s the NATIONAL ad:

.

Once you see the strings on the marionettes you can never unsee them.  The GOPe club uses the same play book.  If you pulled a focus group of never-trumpers, then watched them discuss their snarky view of the MAGA voters they hate, then packaged that conversation into a targeted ad, this ‘cringeworthy’ outcome is exactly what you get.

The GOPe club are targeting MAGA voters by providing a manufactured and managed alternative to Donald Trump.  That’s why you feel a little cringy when you watch the ad.  The inauthentic nature transmits within the implied message.

The people behind Texas congressman Dan Crenshaw, likely the same branding group, did the same thing portraying Crenshaw as an action hero.

Ron DeSantis pre-staging in August ’22 is Ted Cruz pre-staging in August ’14.

Everything about Cruz ’16 is identical to DeSantis ’24, including the social media network, influencers and online media groups doing the promotion.

.TLDR Version Here

The Managing of DeSantis HERE

The Branding of DeSantis HERE

Club branding is subtle on the image front, but very clear on the substantive messaging side. Social issues selected to maximize camp coalition, and influence base.

Consistently present political messaging where the republican voter base can say “yes.” Keep the “yes” messaging at the forefront (social emphasis). Focus on values. Schools, kids, safety, woke pushback, media bias etc, keep the audiences nodding yes.  Ultimately, it’s a sales technique. Identify with the target to influence their decisions.

Issues around multinational & corporate economics, hard lines, foreign policy, all these things must be avoided – except in general terms.  The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is not to be challenged, not really.  Keep the message social and build the emotional connection. It is harder to break an emotional bond than a logical or cognitive bond.

These are the political techniques of Lee Atwater that still make up the bulk of the GOPe club playbook.   The greatest skill of the professionally republican is to present the illusion of choice in such a way as the voters do not see it.

Keep in mind, back in Washington DC both clubs are collaborating on the Trump removal program because both clubs’ benefit.

If we watch closely, we will see a MAGA-lite, professionally controlled republican go from five-days as a pupa, to chrysalis, to national club butterfly.

We are watching it in real time.

I’m actually a little surprised that DeSantis went along with this ad.  My spidey-sense tells me he knew it was cringy, but the outcome helps highlight what happens when the club starts making the decisions.   The club has a habit of generating products into an audience they don’t understand.

President Trump Asks Court to Appoint Special Master to Review Seized Documents

Report, Congressional Gang of Eight Wants to See FBI Affidavit and Trump’s Evidence Against Them Contained in Confiscated Documents from Mar-a-Lago Raid

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on August 22, 2022 | Sundance

It simply makes sense.  The legislative oversight group known as the “Gang of Eight” want to see the documents confiscated by the DOJ National Security Division from the FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.  The reason and motives are simple.

If Donald Trump has evidence of the corruption in the Trump-Russia collusion fabrication and targeting effort, there would be evidence of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI) participating in joint-effort with the DOJ and FBI.  When the FBI launched their 2016 targeting operation against candidate Donald Trump, it was the SSCI who coordinated with them.

[Current 2022 Gang of Eight Group]

First the report from Politico:

The group of congressional leaders charged with reviewing the most sensitive intelligence information has asked the Biden administration for access to the documents seized from former President Donald Trump’s private residence in Florida, according to two people with direct knowledge of the request.

The inquiry from the so-called “Gang of 8” comes as lawmakers from both parties seek to learn more about the unprecedented investigation into the former president. And it suggests that Congress is unwilling to be a bystander in the political and legal fallout following the FBI’s Aug. 8 search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Fla.

It follows a similar request from Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Mark Warner (D-Va.) and Vice Chair Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who asked the nation’s top intelligence official to draw up an assessment of possible national-security risks related to Trump’s handling of the sensitive documents.

The Gang of 8 includes the top two congressional leaders in each chamber — Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy — as well as the top Democrat and Republican on the House and Senate intelligence committees.

A spokesperson for the Senate Intelligence Committee declined to comment. A representative for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence also declined to comment. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for a Gang of 8 member indicated that a specific request hadn’t been signed onto by all eight lawmakers but acknowledged that congressional oversight is ongoing. When the Trump targeting operation began in 2015/2016, Dianne Feinstein was the Vice Chair of the SSCI, and her lead staffer was Dan Jones.  You might remember that Jones left the committee to coordinate anti-Trump efforts outside government and work as a liaison back to the committee.  The Chair of the SSCI was Richar Burr.

After Trump’s surprising 2016 victory, Feinstein stepped down to allow Senator Mark Warner to become Vice-Chair, thereby putting Warner on the Gang-of-Eight in January of 2017.

Senator Warner was then responsible for: (a) continuing the attacks and investigation of Trump; (b) covering up the prior work done by the SSCI to target Trump; and (c) working to appoint a special counsel in order to mitigate the risk, while throwing a bag over the prior activity.

When the FBI came under scrutiny (ex. FISA warrant), the corrupt actors within the DOJ and FBI collaborated *ONLY* with the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI).  The same DOJ and FBI stonewalled the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) which was then led by Chairman Devin Nunes.

The corrupt entities in the DOJ/FBI would only work with the SSCI not the HPSCI, because it was the SSCI who was working hand in glove with them on the targeting operation.  That’s why the SSCI, Mark Warner Vice-Chair with Security Director James Wolfe, was given a copy of the Carter Page FISA application on March 17, 2017.  At the exact same time the DOJ and FBI were blocking the House intelligence committee from seeing it.

Senator Mark Warner wanted the FISA application as a tool to leak to the media as part of the effort to help the DOJ get Andrew Weissmann and Robert Mueller installed as the special counsel.  Weissmann/Mueller would be the cover-up and continued targeting group.

Mark Warner and James Wolfe received the FISA on March 17, 2017, from the FBI (carried by agent Brian Dugan).  Shortly after 4:00pm on March 17th, Warner and Wolfe then leaked the FISA application to the media (Ali Watkins). Two days later FBI Director James Comey testified before the House committee (March 20) publicly admitting for the first time that President Trump was under investigation.

These days in March 2017 became the narrative opening for the leaked FISA to support the installation of a special counsel a few weeks later. All of it carefully coordinated.

The background collusion and assist motive was also why SSCI vice-chair Mark Warner was covertly in contact with Adam Waldman (2017), the lawyer for Chris Steele, while continuing to operate the parallel Trump targeting and DOJ/FBI cover-up operation from the SSCI.  Warner’s skill at this process is why Feinstein abdicated her chair to him at the beginning of Trump’s term.

If the Gang of Eight is currently trying to see what documents President Trump held in Mar-a-Lago, what they are really trying to see is what evidence President Trump has against them.

Watch carefully now….

Watch how the DOJ-NSD and FBI respond to the Gang of Eight.  If they follow the pattern, then Main Justice will likely support legislative oversight only through the SSCI.

Fauci Out

The modern Narcissus known as Anthony Fauci announces his departure:

STATEMENT – “I am announcing today that I will be stepping down from the positions of Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and Chief of the NIAID Laboratory of Immunoregulation, as well as the position of Chief Medical Advisor to President Joe Biden. I will be leaving these positions in December of this year to pursue the next chapter of my career.” (more)

Joe Biden releases a statement praising Fauci for his national service:

WHITE HOUSE – “Because of Dr. Fauci’s many contributions to public health, lives here in the United States and around the world have been saved.  As he leaves his position in the U.S. Government, I know the American people and the entire world will continue to benefit from Dr. Fauci’s expertise in whatever he does next.” (more)

Departure just after the midterm elections.

Liz Cheney Creates PAC for Sole Purpose of Removing Republicans from Office and Supporting Democrats

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on August 22, 2022 | Sundance

The latest development is a remarkable amount of sunlight on the dynamic of the Republican party.  In many ways this is the ‘big ugly’ we previously discussed.  Cheney represents the outlook of the ‘acceptable republican’, and after her primary defeat now turns her attention to removing the ‘unacceptable’ republican politicians.

Ms. Cheney has transferred the remaining $7 million from her leadership PAC, mostly provided by democrat donor activists and Wall Street allies, into a new Political Action Committee created to attack undesirable republican politicians and benefit Democrats.

Immediately after Donald Trump announced his candidacy as a republican in 2015, it was easily predictable that a major conflict within the republican party would result.  The traditional republican party platform for trade, finance, economics and foreign policy was in direct conflict with Trump’s America First outlook.  With literally trillions at stake, we called the predictable battle, “The Big Ugly.”  Cheney’s moves to help democrats are part of this larger ideological war within the party.

(Daily Mail) – […] ‘I’m going to be very focused on working to ensure that we do everything we can not to elect election deniers,’ Cheney said on ABC on Sunday morning.

‘We’ve got election deniers that have been nominated for really important positions all across the country. ‘And I’m going to work against those people. I’m going to work to support their opponents.’

She singled out two senators – Ted Cruz, for Texas, and Missouri’s Josh Hawley – as obvious targets. Cheney said the pair ‘took steps that fundamentally threatened the constitutional order and structure in the aftermath of the last election.  ‘So, in my view, they both have made themselves unfit for future office,’ she added. The media narrative engineers like to ignore that it wasn’t Donald Trump or any other MAGA movement individual that removed Liz Cheney from office.  Ms. Cheney was rejected by the voters in Wyoming, her own tribe, no one else.

The voters in Wyoming rejected Liz Cheney because her brand of politics was only concerned about the interests of Liz Cheney. In other words, she is a perfect representation of a traditional republican.

Unvaccinated Mothers Forced to Pay Back Maternity Leave in BC

Armstrong Economics Blog/Canada Re-Posted Aug 22, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

Mothers (also known as “birthing people” to the woke) in BC are no longer entitled to maternity leave unless they cave and take the vaccine. This is the very vaccine that has provenly caused issues in fertility and comes with a plethora of side effects. The vaccine does absolutely nothing to prevent transmission and infection. But the government is so eager to retain power under the guise of COVID while pushing forth the Great Reset that they are continuing to force the public into dangerous situations.

“The vaccination policy stipulates that BC Public Service employees who do not receive two doses of vaccination against COVID-19, or refuse to disclose their vaccination status, and do not have an approved exemption request, are to be placed on a leave without pay for a period of at least three months, after which they may be terminated,” the BC government writes on their website. The province required employee mandates on November 8, 2021.

The government offers around 80% salary compensation for mothers on leave. How else do they expect women to exist in the workforce (looking at you, America)? Any mother who disobeyed the vaccine mandate and did not receive an exemption may be forced to forfeit their maternity pay.

The COVID hysteria may have ended, but the tyranny continues. Canadians are continually losing their jobs for making independent health decisions. What will happen when they mandate more boosters? The collective must rebel against such tyranny.

American Schools are Liberal Brainwashing Centers

Armstrong Economics Blog/Education Re-Posted Aug 22, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

American schools are predominately liberal. I mentioned how the largest teachers’ unions in the country routinely donate millions of dollars to Democrats. They may not have money for school supplies, but they have the funds to support their favored candidate. It is not merely the public schools that are liberal, as this goes all the way up to the ivy league colleges. A Harvard poll recently found that 80% of the faculty identified as “liberal” or “very liberal.” Around 37% said they were “very liberal,” which marks an 8% increase from last year. On the contrary, only 1% identified as “conservative.” No one identified as “very conservative.”

Clearly, students are being presented with a left-leaning view of the world from elementary school to university. Last year, a North Korean defector by the name of Yeonmi Park compared her experience at Columbia University to her former life in perhaps one of the most censored nations in the world. Yeonmi Park stated that students in the US “choose to be brainwashed.” Yet, only one world perspective is pushed on American students beginning at the age of five. Tests and grades are based on students accepting their liberal teachers’ instructions as facts.

“They are dying to give their rights and power to government…they take it for granted. They don’t know how hard it is to be free,” Park stated. The teachers pass on their biased views to young children who grow up and often do not realize that they need to question everything they once believed was true. Now schools are pushing for Critical Race Theory (CRT), gender courses, and even going as far as to bring drag queens into elementary schools to read to the children.

The American school system is deliberately attempting to brainwash our children into believing that the woke ideology is factual. It is up to the parents to steer their children in the right direction. “The future of our country [the US] is as bleak as North Korea’s if we don’t rise up right now,” Park previously warned.

A Potential Republican Club Midterm Strategy – Nationalize the January 2021 Georgia Outcome

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on August 22, 2022 | sundance

Acceptance is the first step.

  • If we accept or acknowledge the RNC and DNC are private corporations, existing like all other corporations to the fulfilment of their for-profit charter, to make money; and
  • If we accept or acknowledge their business model is structured around people and businesses giving them money; and
  • If we accept or acknowledge that in the process of raising money their interests may or may not align with the goal of those contributing to the business; and
  • If we accept the history that Mitch McConnell and the RNC worked purposefully to remove the influence of the Tea Party; then
  • This factually accurate statement from Steve Deace takes on a new meaning:
  • (LINK)

[…] “the GOP (club) would rather lose to Democrats than lose control of the [club] to it’s base.”  Electability boils down to the right kind of approved candidate.

That is an accurate context for this midterm election cycle. Factually, the income stream for the RNC improves if they have the ability to campaign against the opposition club.  The larger the outrage, the more substantial the fundraising.  The corporation makes more money in defeat, or in the minority, than it does when it wins or holds majorities.

As a result, there is a disconnect between the financial incentive of the corporation and the expressed intent of the corporation. When the RNC club wins, they have a more difficult time raising money, because people who previously contributed are now looking for results.

Combine that business model reality, with the accurate statement from Steve Deace about the club perspective of MAGA, and you begin to see the weird dynamic that surfaced in Georgia in the first week of January 2021.  Did the club want to win the two senate races?  Or was the club content to let deflated Trump voters see a lackluster club response to the 2020 election issues in Georgia, a frustration which led to wins by the opposition?

The same dynamic is established now.  Senator Mitch McConnell and the GOP club corporate donors are not happy with the unapproved candidates winning many of the 2022 primary contests.  They are not hiding their disdain, nor are they hiding their shift in midterm expectations as a result of their desire to see the unapproved republican candidates defeated.

However, there is a more looming scenario that we have been discussing.

As we have seen from their non-response to the FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, the GOP club would not be disappointed to see the DOJ take down Donald Trump prior to the midterm elections.

In a national version of the Georgia result, there would likely be widespread voter anger and frustration, if the DOJ indict President Trump and the republican leadership pull the Ron DeSantis routine and stay hidden and silent.

The GOP gets rid of the issue of Donald Trump, and a 25% drop in MAGA voter turnout – the result of anger and disenfranchisement – leads to overwhelming victories for Democrats in the midterms.  The result, both Donald Trump and MAGA are essentially removed from the RNC/GOP structure.  Nothing would make that group happier than to return to the status quo of controlled and approved party candidates.  [Insert Ron DeSantis here]

In the biggest of big pictures, the important issues for the club to control surround trade, finance and economic policy.  There are trillions at stake. The multinationals and Wall Street in general would both benefit from the elimination of a political movement based on America-First national economic policy (ie. Main Street USA).

The common bond amid all of the diversity within the Trump coalition is the working-class economic connection.  No other republican politician of significance has any national economic outlook unfavorable to the multinational corporations who finance the club priority.  The only economic nationalist in the republican party is Donald Trump.  Remove him and the America-First policy is removed with him.

Let us also not be naïve or intellectually dishonest with each other.  The decision on whether to indict or not indict Donald Trump is going to be made by Democrats and Republicans alike.  Personally, I worry that decision has already been made, sometime around early June when the DOJ first inspected the documents at Mar-a-Lago, as part of a larger collaborative midterm strategy, noted above.

The picture would essentially be, have the DOJ remove Donald Trump; have the republican leadership do nothing except express faux outrage at the outcome; and then watch as a blue wave midterm election benefits both Democrat and Republican clubs.

Democrats advance their radical agenda, republicans gnash their teeth and fundraise off the radical agenda, and the 2024 presidential candidates pull out the fainting couches, gasp in horror, bewilderment and outrage over the events, while reminding the republican base that supporting law enforcement, and following the constitution, means sitting quietly and voting harder…

…. cue Ron DeSantis.
