Why the US May Return to Afghanistan

The United States wants to reclaim the Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan. The base is strategically located near China’s Xinjiang region and also borders Iran. “We gave it to (the Taliban) for nothing,” US President Donald Trump said during a joint press conference with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. “We’re trying to get it back, by the way.”

I sincerely hope the neocons encircling the Capitol do not push the POTUS to redeploy troops to Afghanistan. When I met Donald Trump in March 2020, he repeatedly stated that he wanted to end America’s involvement in the Middle East. It is an endless war that began long ago. Trump said he was tired of writing letters to mothers to report that their sons and daughters were not returning home from a war that was never America’s to fight.

Strategically located, the air base is only 500 miles away from China. Rare earth minerals that the US so desperately needs can be found nearby as well. The proximity to China is not the primary motive for reclaiming the base. Only 30 miles away lies an essential trade network in Kabul controlled by Russia.

Russia removed Afghanistan from the blacklist status last November and has been strengthening ties to develop strategic infrastructure. Russia and Afghanistan have been planning a 573 km $6.9 billion railway with Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and Belarus. The Trans-Afghan Corridor railway service will connect Afghanistan to ports in Uzbekistan and Pakistan. This will simplify transit as cargo will be able to reach Pakistan from Uzbekistan in 3 to 5 days compared to the 35 days it currently takes. The line will also incorporate road transport.

The route is crucial for Central Asian logistics. Annual freight volume is expected to reach 22 million tons by 2030, and 34 million tons by 2040. There are discussions of using this route to develop future infrastructure projects, including pipelines. Afghanistan’s economy has little to offer, but it is positioned to control 20% of the cargo flowing through this area. Bagram is located about an hour awa,y and the US is keen to assert influence.

The Taliban would never willingly return the base to the US, of course, and economic offers would be of little importance considering the amount Afghanistan is set to gain from this railway project. Trump said “bad things” will happen if and when the Taliban refuses to return the base. Again, the media is not reporting the real reason that the United States suddenly wants to reclaim Bagram—RUSSIA!

H-1B Visa – Top Talent Only

Hiring new talent from abroad will cost employers hefty fines under new provisions to the H-1B visa. Amid the push for American companies to hire American workers, Donald Trump has raised the application fee for the H-1B visa from $1,700-$4,500 to $100,000.

Over 70% of H-1B visa holders are Indian citizens, as reported by Fortune. “This measure is likely to have humanitarian consequences by way of the disruption caused for families,” India’s Ministry of External Affairs said in its official statement. “Government hopes that these disruptions can be addressed suitably by the US authorities.” Chinese nationals hold the second-largest number of H-1B visas at 12%.

Hundreds of visa holders have returned to the United States from overseas as they fear they may be unable to re-enter. The White House issued follow-up statements to clarify that the new one-time fee does not apply to those who already hold H-1B visas.

Companies wishing to import talent to the US must be willing to invest in the best and brightest. There is concern that the measure could stifle innovation by preventing potential talent from entering the US workforce. However, the Trump Administration is validly concerned about rising unemployment.

The number of unemployed Americans exceeds the available jobs. US employers have reduced their workforce more in the first seven months of 2025 than in all of 2024. AI is replacing around 491 tech jobs per day. We’ve seen a 36% decline in tech jobs this year compared to last as technology advances. The US outsourced 300,000 tech-based jobs overall to India as offshoring trends continue. Not only is labor cheaper, but India produces over 1.5 million engineering graduates annually. The tech sector is especially vulnerable to this increased visa fee as 80% of computer-related H-1B workers are from India. Additionally, the big tech companies have the most H-1B visa holders on their payroll. Apple, Google, Meta, and Microsoft each employ over 4,000 H-1B workers.

American companies remain the most desirable workplaces in the world, as the payout far surpasses European salaries. The UK noted on Monday that it is considering eliminating some visa fees to attract top talent that is blocked from entering the US. The UK and Europe are indeed more desirable than China or India, but workers still want to come to America for the most lucrative opportunities.

If companies are willing to invest $100,000 in an employee, then that person is top-tier talent. The question remains whether American companies can hire domestically and maintain the same level of innovation aptitude.

Watch Moldova

There is considerable anxiety afoot, as EU security elements begin bolstering the internal police force of Moldova. It appears their concern is widespread unrest could follow the election results. Why would the official government of Moldovan President Maia Sandu be concerned about post-election turmoil?

Well, consider that Maia Sandu’s election last year was not won by a vote of the majority of Moldovans who physically reside in Moldova, but by a reported half-million mail-in ballots that tipped the scales in her favor. Those same mail-in ballots also changed the results of the referendum that asked Moldovan citizens if they wanted to join the European Union.

The stakes are very high for the EU and NATO alignment. If the Moldova parliamentary election results in a more pro-Russian governing body, the best designed plans of the U.K/NATO/EU and global intelligence apparatus could be significantly damaged.

Maia Sandu’s Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) is in a tenuous position. Sandu and PAS are globalists, influenced a great deal by European money and promises of affluence. Their collective opposition within Moldova is an assembly of nationalist voices represented by Patriotic Bloc, a new group of existing pro-Russian opposition parties.

Polls have indicated that Sandu’s PAS is likely to lose the parliamentary election, but the European Union cannot accept this outcome. Thus, the issue of these mysterious mail-in ballots surfaces again, and that explains why the Moldovan police and EU security forces are preparing for civil unrest.

In August, the leaders of France (Macron), Germany (Merz) and Poland (Tusk) visited the capital city of Chisinau to proclaim their support for President Maia Sandu and the pro-EU movement. The trio, also called the ‘coalition of the willing’, represent fierce opposition to Russia’s war in Ukraine.

On the economic front, Moldovan citizens have been coping with high inflation, energy shortages and have seen little progress in the Sandu pledge to clean up internal bribery and govt corruption. Meanwhile, Sandu has been traveling around Europe and Great Britain seeking financial support that can deflect some of the economic issues.

The election next weekend represents a critical inflection point for Europe. If the EU loses the support of the Moldovan parliament, it would be much harder to utilize the Romanian NATO military base for a European war against Russia, a war they have been trying to provoke with increased aggressiveness.

Shortly before King Charles orchestrated the second state visit by President Trump, the U.K monarch met with Sandu to express his strategic support against a common enemy, Vladimir Putin (pictured below).  However, it can be reasonably argued the majority of the people who live within Moldova do not hold the same opinion. They do not want war with Russia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is watching this unfold, while hearing from the pro-Russian elements who live within the Moldavian region known as Transnistria. Indeed, much like the Donbas and eastern Ukraine region, where Western forces within Ukraine attacked the Russian enclaves, there are indications of the same dynamic within eastern Moldova.

If the EU security services think they will lose the election in Moldova, Sandu will cancel it.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio Delivers Remarkable Tribute to Charlie Kirk

Posted originally on CTH on September 22, 2025 | Sundance

In a rather remarkable moment of intercessory faith, Secretary of State Marco Rubio delivered a tribute to Charlie Kirk filled with purpose and faith.

There were some very remarkable moments in the hours-long Christian affirmation for Charlie that took place yesterday in Glendale, Arizona; however, this testimonial from Marco Rubio is among the top tier.

Rubio begins with good natured humor; this cognitively breaks the psychological drag of recent memory and reorients the audience. Secretary Rubio then begins to speak eloquently about the impact of Charlie Kirk and the light he brought to a generation.  Rubio bears witness.

Toward the end of his remarks, Secretary Rubio then enmeshed the truth of Charlie’s message to the life of Christ, and the immortal connection that binds a Christian nation in spiritual purpose.  Like Charlie, Rubio has a gift.  WATCH:

THAT, my friends, is a powerful seven minutes!

♦ The First Martyr – Stephen is introduced in the Book of Acts as one of the seven deacons appointed to oversee the distribution of food to widows in the early church. He is described as a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit. Stephen’s bold preaching and miracles drew the attention of the Jewish authorities, leading to his arrest.

During his trial, Stephen delivered a powerful speech recounting Israel’s history and accusing the religious leaders of resisting the Holy Spirit. This speech culminated in his being stoned to death, making him the first Christian martyr.

♦ Paul – Saul, who later became known as the Apostle Paul, was present during Stephen’s stoning. The witnesses laid their clothes at Saul’s feet, indicating his approval of the execution. At this time, Saul was a zealous Pharisee, actively persecuting Christians and seeking to eradicate the new faith. His involvement in Stephen’s death highlights the intense opposition faced by early Christians from Jewish leaders.

♦ Transformation of Saul – Saul’s life took a dramatic turn on the road to Damascus, where he encountered the risen Christ. This event led to his conversion, and he became one of the most influential apostles in spreading Christianity. His transformation from a persecutor of Christians to a devoted follower of Christ is a powerful testament to the grace and power of God.

Significance – The stories of Saul and Stephen illustrate the early church’s struggles and the profound changes that can occur through faith. Stephen’s martyrdom is often seen as a catalyst for the spread of Christianity, as it prompted many believers to flee Jerusalem and share the gospel elsewhere. Saul’s conversion marks a pivotal moment in Christian history, as he became a key figure in establishing the church and writing many of the New Testament letters.

Summary: Stephen’s martyrdom and Saul’s transformation are central to understanding the early Christian movement and the challenges it faced. Their stories reflect the depth of faith, the virtue of redemption, and the power of the gospel.

Many people, me included, have pondered the remarkable transition of Marco Rubio.

God is in control!
