Is Christianity in Decline?

Vatican

Pope Francis is rather concerned about what he calls a “hemorrhage” of priests and nuns from the Catholic church. Indeed, the loss of clergy is weakening the church over the past decades. The Pope commented on how nuns and priests have just quit claiming that modern society discourages lifelong commitments as in the soaring divorce rate. He further said that people conduct their lives based on “a la carte” choices.

The decline in people attending church services is not just engulfing the Catholic church. This is a trend which is infecting Christianity as a whole, and is reflected in the Podesta emails revealed the Democrats disliked Catholics and Evangelical Christians. Hillary’s staff said Catholics are “severely backwards” and further demeaned them saying they don’t know “what the hell they’re talking about.” Then you have Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi who recently said: “They pray in church on Sunday and then prey on people the rest of the week.”

The decline of Rome coincided with the collapse in their religious beliefs during the 3rd century. Once the Emperor Valerian I was captured by the Persians from Iran in 260AD, confidence began to collapsed in the survival of the Empire. Other barbarians realized they could invade Rome for it was now weak. People turned to their gods and prayed, but nothing happened. Pagans then blamed the Christians saying the gods were offended by them and were punishing Rome because of the Christians. That led to the widespread Christian persecutions under Diocletian.

Tetreacrhy-R2Constantine-SolThe fall of Paganism dovetailed with the fall of Rome for the foundation of a society is its religious beliefs. The spread of Christianity contributed to the fall. The Edict of Milan legalized Christianity in 313AD, and it later became the state religion in 380AD. These decrees ended Christian of persecution, but they also eroded the traditional Roman values system. Constantine the Great (307-337AD) championed Christianity, but for political purposes. The polytheistic Roman religion did not truly create a divine status of the Emperor as was the case in Asian culture while living. Constantine defeated the Tetrarchy set up by Diocletian arguing one God, one emperor. We can see this gold medallion pictures Constantine with the sun god Sol who was being portrayed as the invincible supreme god among pagans who always appeared each morning. This medallion demonstrates how Constantine was using religion to support there should be a single emperor not four.

Constantine began to merge religion with the emperor for political purposes. In declaring Christianity the state religion he enabled himself to rob the temples of the Pagans. That was very profitable using the funds to build his new capitol – Constantinople. Christianity by no means played any role in curbing Roman civic virtue nor did it create some religious state. The night Constantine died, his son, Constantine II was perhaps the main instigator in what has become known as the “palace massacre” during which most family members born of his step-grandmother Theodora were murdered. Christian values certainly did not change the morals of the elite within the Roman Empire.

Trajan Decius AR Ant -R

In 212AD, universal citizenship had been granted to all freeborn inhabitants of the empire. As the economy imploded following the reign of Maximinus I (235-238AD) who simply declared all wealth belonged to the State, it was Trajan Decius (249-251AD) who enacted measures intended to restore stability and unity. Decius included a requirement that Roman citizens affirm their loyalty through religious ceremonies in 250AD. Christian citizens faced prosecution since any citizen who refused to participate in the empire-wide supplicatio was subject to the death penalty. Decius was killed in battle the following year. Therefore, this decree was short-lived and was a significant departure from previous imperial policy that Christians were not to be sought out and prosecuted as inherently disloyal. There had been freedom religion at the core of the Roman Empire. Nevertheless, even under Decius, orthodox Christians were subject to arrest only for their refusal to participate in Roman civic religion. They were not arrested for assembling to worship their own religion. This was the very beginning of the religious persecution post-Nero.

Contrary to popular belief, Christianity flourished because of the religious freedom within the Roman Empire. There were so many gods only because Rome allowed each country it conquered to retain their own religion. Following the edict of Decius, Christianity actually grew for the following four decades. This period became known among Christian scholars as the “Little Peace of the Church”, which ended when Diocletian launched the final and “Great” Persecution in 303AD.

Whether this is coincidence of not is hard to say for we do not have enough changes in religion to verify multiple turning points. Yet from the Edict of Milan in 313AD, we come to the American Civil War in 1861, which was sparked by religion. That was  5 waves of 309.6 years. The next half cycle lined up with the peak in the government 2015.8. Muhammad (c. 570–632 AD) began preaching in 610AD, which was one cycle 309.6 years from the rise of Christianity toward a major religion, which led to the start of the persecution in 303AD. Even the English Civil War, which was Protestant v Catholic, began in 1642. That was 4.3 cycles of 309.6 from 313AD or the Edit of Milan.

There appears to be a fair number of events in religion that do line up cyclically. The turn in 2015 appears to be on target for a rise in religious tensions as well.

Full-Time Jobs Soar By 457K To Record High; Part-Time Jobs Tumble By 490K

Tyler Durden's picture

While Trump will surely point to the record drop in people not in the labor force – in addition to the overall 227K jobs gained – as proof he is starting off on the right foot (not to mention the S&P which remains within a fraction of all time highs), one other aspect of today’s jobs report the President will likely highlight is that in January, the recent trend of “part-timing” the US labor force abruptly reversed, and according to the Establishment Survey, the number of full-time jobs surged by 457K in January to a new all time high of 124,705K.

At the same time, part-time jobs tumbled by 490,000 to 27,405K, the biggest monthly drop since last June.

If Trump really wants to undo the “Obama recovery”, this is one particular trend he will want to focus on in the months ahead.

KOMMONSENTSJANE – DON’T FORGET THE PEOPLE WHO VOTED FOR YOU

I don’t think we have to worry about Trump, he gets it, it’s the swamp that is DC that is the core problem.

Today, I was driving down Interstate 10 and truck after truck passed with oil drilling equipment which was so exciting.  I can just envision the jobs which it will create.

My question is to President Trump.  Please do something about jobs for people and the tax plan for the people as soon as you can – also cancel Obamacare right away.

Obama increased the taxes to such an extinct that people are hurting.

If you wait too long, we won’t get any help.

Anti-Milo Yiannopoulos Rioters Burn UC Berkeley | True News

Trump Threatens To Pull U.C. Berkeley Funds After Violent Protesters Cancel Yiannopoulos Speech

Tyler Durden's picture

In the latest crackdown by less than tolerant liberals against free speech, on Wednesday night hundreds of protesters at University of California in Berkeley smashed windows, set fires and clashed with police as they forced a controversial “alt-right” speaker to cancel his appearance at the liberal-leaning institution.

Two hours before Breitbart News editor Milo Yiannopoulos was to give a speech at the student union, protesters tossed metal barricades and rocks through the building’s windows and set a light generator on fire near the entrance, footage from news outlets showed.

Police ordered protesters to disperse as the school put the campus on lockdown. Protesters also tossed bricks and fireworks at police in riot gear who fired rubber pellets back at the crowd, according to SFGate.com, a news outlet in San Francisco.

“We shut down the event. It was great. Mission accomplished,” a protester told CNN.

Some 150 “masked agitators” were responsible for the violence during the otherwise largely peaceful protest of about 1,500 people, the university said in a statement, noting that the school “is proud of its history and legacy as home of the Free Speech Movement” in the 1960s. Many have expressed curiosity if the masked agitators are the same ones who tried to provoke violence during Trump’s inauguration and if they are funded by certain financially endowed “liberal” organizations linked to George Soros.

Donald Trump’s chief strategist, Steve Bannon, previously headed Breitbart News and CNN reported that many of the protesters voiced opposition to the Republican president.

One protester at Berkeley held a sign that said “No Safe Space for Racists” while other protesters danced to hip hop music, footage from a Facebook Live feed showed. Protesters later marched along streets near the campus where some smashed storefront windows and car windshields while clashing with police, the feed showed.

Yiannopoulos, whose account on Twitter was suspended last year after he was accused of participating in the online harassment of an African-American actress, criticized “the Left”, saying in a statement it was “absolutely terrified of free speech and will do literally anything to shut it down.”

He also said on Fox News that he was evacuated by police after protesters began throwing rocks and other objects at the building. “Obviously it’s a liberal campus so they hate any libertarians or conservatives who dare to express an opinion on their campuses,” he said. “They particularly don’t like me.”

On Thursday morning, in a barrage of tweets that touched on topics as far ranging as Rex Tillerson, to the death of Navy SEAL Ryan Owens to the Iran ballistic missile test, Trump also lashed out at UC Berkley, and hinted that the university which “does not allow free speech and practices violence on innocent people with a different point of view” may see its federal funding yanked.

It was not immediately clear if any algos were confused by the Trump tweet and interpreted it as referring to interest rates or the Fed’s hiking plans.

The Sports Cycle and Western Society

superbowl

In May 2015, U.S. federal prosecutors filed criminal indictments against fourteen FIFA employees and associates in connection with an investigation by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation Division (IRS-CI) into wire fraud, racketeering, and money laundering which was all centered around bribery. Then 16 more officials were indicted in December 2015. We also see that Super Bowl viewership peaked in 2015 at 115 million and has begun to decline from a major 26-year high. Last year, Super Bowl viewership fell to 111 million, which is actually the Bearish Reversal. So if 2017 comes in under 111 million, this will confirm sports have begun a bear market. This is yet another parallel with the decline and fall of the Roman Empire.

Circus Maximus

Charioteer

Gaius Appuleius Diocles was the highest paid athlete in Roman history. His earnings were legendary and were derived from earnings, not sponsorships. His career as a charioteer lasted 24 years. He is believed to have been born in 104 AD, began racing at the age of 18, and retired at about 42 (around 146 AD). Diocles may have retired during the reign of Antoninus Pius (138 – 161 AD). The Roman Empire peaked with Antoninus’ successor, Marcus Aurelius (161-180 AD), which was 34 years from Diocles retirement. Sports began to decline.

Commodus-Hercules

Indeed, Marcus Aurelius was succeeded by his son Commodus (sole rule: 180-192 AD). Commodus made appearances in gladiatorial combats. Commodus would appear naked in these gladiatorial combats, which resulted in a collapse in confidence and a huge public scandal. This resulted in rumors that he was actually the son of a gladiator whom his mother, Faustina, probably took as some lover at the coastal resort of Caieta. Commodus always won since his opponents always submitted to the emperor and were spared. He charged Rome 1 million sesterces for his contests, no doubt trying to top Diocles’ earnings. Sports in Rome began to decline from 180 AD onward, as did the population of Rome itself. People began to migrate out of the city when Commodus began to rule by himself. If we add 34 years to 2015, that brings us to 17.2 years from 2032. Very interesting indeed.

Diocles won 1,462 races out of 4,257 and placed second in 1,438 races. Diocles is one of the best-documented ancient athletes in history. He was the start of the Roman Circus Maximus, and you can still see the track to this day. The 1910-1915 translation of Latin pānis et circēnsēs is the source of a remark by the Roman satirist Juvenal on the limited desires of the Roman populace, “Two things only the people anxiously desire — bread and circuses.”

Trajan Sesterius

During his 24-year career, Dicoles is said to have earned 35,863,120 sesterces in prize money according to Professor Peter Struck. Records from Pompeii show a slave being sold at auction for 6,252 sestertii in 79 AD. A writing tablet from Londinium (Roman London), dated to c. 75–125 AD, records the sale of a Gallic slave girl called Fortunata for 600 denarii, or 2,400 Sestertii, who must have been quite beautiful. We can take a Private First Class in the US army today and see he earns $24,984.00 annually. However, food and lodging are included. During the 1st century AD, the ordinary legionary soldier was paid 900 sestertii per annum, rising to 1200 under Domitian (81-96 AD). This was the equivalent of 3.3 sestertii per day, of which half of this was deducted for living costs. That means the net salary for a soldier was about 1.65 sestertii per day. Therefore, his net pay for take home would have been 429 sestertii annually. That means, Dicoles earned for his 24 career what would have taken a solider 83,597 years. If we then compare that to the net take-home pay of a US soldier, Dicoles earned $2,088,587,855 for his 24-year career or $87,024,493 per year. The top athlete in 2016, Cristiano Ronaldo, won a contract for $88 million. Of course, he would never earn that for 24 years.

Chaioteer Token

Gaius Appuleius Diocles was born in approximately 104 AD in Lamecum, the capital city of Lusitania, the province of Emerita Augusta in modern-day Portugal. His father owned a transport business so the family was upper middle-class. Diocles began racing at the age of 18 in Ilerda, which is Catalonia today. His skills were great and he was recruited to race in Rome. There he began racing for the White team. Being a skilled charioteer, Diocles was recruited then by the Green team at age 24. However, he then transferred to the Red Team at age 27, which was the second best team, and he quickly advanced their prestige. It was Diocles who perfected chariot racing with the strategy of holding back his horses to conserve their energy and then making the strategic play of coming from behind to cross the finish line at the last moment. When he raced, Diocles was the featured event that drew in the crowds. Pictured here is a token costing 5, which was needed to enter the races, which was equal to a little more than one sestertius since 4 copper asses equaled one sestertius.

So it would appear that the Sports Cycle is indeed a leading indicator of the decline and fall of an empire. The year 2015 saw FIFA peak, the Super Bowl peak, and even Tiger Woods peaked in golf. Yogi Berra died in 2015 followed by Muhammad Ali, and Arnold Palmer died in 2016. The year 2015 was the peak on our Economic Confidence Model for government. Will it too completely collapse in 34 years? This will be very interesting to say the least.

What God do the Radical Terrorists around the World Follow?

muslims-praying-to-alha

During the last 8 years over 200,000 people have been killed, maimed, raped or tortured world wide by those that follow un-human or un-civilised beliefs basically barbaric in nature and those views are just not compatible with those of any civilized nation on the planet today be they capitalized, socialist, communist or secular in nature. Whether you believe in a God or not the slaughter and rape of innocents can not be tolerated and should be totally condemned by the United Nations or that body serves no purpose.

What I can say, speaking for myself, is that those that participate in this barbaric behavior must believe in the devil himself (shown in the picture above) for that is the only deity/entity that I know of that would promote or allow his followers to practice what is going in world today.

California files Petition to Secede from USA – CALEXIT

California Golden Gate

A proposal for California to secede from the United States was actually submitted to the Secretary of State’s Office this week. The proposed “CALEXIT” proposition plans to ask voters to repeal part of the state constitution that declares California an inseparable part of the USA. Recent polls found that one in three California residents want to separate from the USA because they are opposed to Trump. If the proposal qualifies for the ballot, then Californians will get to vote to leave. It is very clear that Trump DID WIN THE POPULAR VOTE outside of California where Hillary was nearly 4.3 million more votes over Trump. That means CNN had Hillary Clinton winning a popular vote margin over Donald Trump with totals of 65,788,583 to 62,955,363 respectively, a margin of approximately 2.8 million votes.

California dreamingBiased reports admit this is true, but they then twist it and say that is irrelevant since that is not how it works. One site says it wouldn’t be an issue if she hadn’t also amassed enough votes all the other states to make that outcome possible. That is really clouding the issue. If the election were decided by popular vote, then taking out California changes everything. Those who say Trump is not a legitimate president because of the popular vote counting California, are also way off the mark. The simple point is California moves to a different beat.

It should secede and forfeit all social benefits like Social Security and the State should not be able to tax pensioners who leave California. The language in California will be Spanish for the majority in less than 20 years.
