Job Posting for New Head of Digital Currency UK Government

Armstrong Economics Blog/Cryptocurrency Re-Posted Jan 31, 2023 by Martin Armstrong

Head of Central Bank Digital Currency
HM Treasury
Apply before 11:55 pm on Tuesday 7th February 2023
Key Accountabilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for leadership of HM Treasury’s work on a potential digital pound – a UK central bank digital currency (CBDC). This work is important, complex and cross-cutting, and the leadership will involve extensive engagement across and beyond HM Treasury.
Digital innovation is changing the landscape for payments and money. The use of physical money is declining while new forms of private sector digital money are emerging. These changes offer exciting opportunities for UK businesses and consumers, but also present new challenges and risks. This has motivated countries around the world to explore digital versions of central bank money.

Today, the Bank of England issues only physical bank notes. A digital pound would be a new form of digital money for use by households and businesses issued directly by the Bank of England.

Treasury and the Bank of England are working together through the CBDC Taskforce to explore the case for a digital pound. Treasury and the Bank of England have committed to consult jointly on a potential digital pound, and the successful candidate will lead the Treasury team in the wake of the consultation’s issuance, including working with the Bank of England to consider consultation responses. The forward timeline for the work has been set out by Ministers and the Bank of England, and the successful candidate will be responsible for setting strategic direction within Treasury to deliver on that plan.

Civilians Are Always At Risk in War

Armstrong Economics Blog/War Re-Posted Jan 31, 2023 by Martin Armstrong

Patrick Lancaster has been doing a good job of reporting from Ukraine and he is not part of the BS propaganda that dominates the airwaves. There are always twice as many civilians who die in war than soldiers. There are soldiers who have come back from war and are just traumatized because they killed children often by mistake. Nobody wants to expose the true horrors of war. Perhaps that is why our leaders pretend we can destroy Russia with no casualties on our side.

Military Surveillance Critics During COVID

Armstrong Economics Blog/Tyranny Re-Posted Jan 31, 2023 by Martin Armstrong

Evidence is surfacing that the military was engaged in domestic surveillance in Britain as well as Canada of anyone who was a critic of the COVID lockdowns. It is very clear that there was no historic precedent whatsoever for locking down all of society for a virus that was not even lethal beyond the normal flu virus. All the data coming out on the fatalities and injuries surrounding the vaccines is another issue altogether.

There, the conspiracy theories have suggested that Pfizer has been behind a plot to actually reduce the population which has been a pet project of Bill Gates. It certainly does not do well for society as a whole when our fearless leaders hand absolute immunity to Pfizer to actually kill or maim as many people as they desire all because they did not take the time to really test their vaccines. I choose not to be vaccinated simply because once the government got involved by mandating, there was something seriously wrong and I have spent enough time behind the curtain I know politicians earn a couple hundred grand a year but manage to retire as multi-millionaires. Once the government gets involved, never trust anything. They do not prosecute themselves.

As far as the surveillance is concerned, they have no doubt assembled lists of those of us who resist the tyrannical decrees of the government. Those who resist being mindless drones are a threat to the survivability of the government. Hence, the lockdowns were a perfect way to sort out those who have a brain, and others who are just gullible and think the government is the adult version of Santa Claus. We are all on some secret list, that much we can count on. It has never been a Government of the People, but a Government Against the People as history has always shown for 6,000 years. It’s just all part of 2032.

Dolly Parton – Don’t Make Me Have To Come Down There

Armstrong Economics Blog/Religion Re-Posted Jan 30, 2023 by Martin Armstrong

There is a rising tide around the world who see what our world leaders are doing and they are doing their best to create World War III. I would like to think enough people will start screaming at our leaders, but our computer makes it clear there is no gain, without the pain.

WEF Encourages Eating Expired Food

Armstrong Economics Blog/BRITAIN Re-Posted Sep 19, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

Schwab is a rotten man. The World Economic Forum has convinced the UK to remove “best before” dates from food products in an effort to “conserve food waste.” In reality, these sick individuals do not care about human health and need a way to avert attention away from the coming food shortages brought on by their zero-emissions pipe dream.

The UK is set to remove “best before” and labels from around 500 products. When was the food shipped or packaged? It will be up to the consumer to use their best judgment. There are also plans to remove hundreds of “use by” dates on products. “Best buy” indicates the quality of the food, while “use by” indicates whether it is safe for consumption. The WEF insists that these dates are meaningless as it still may be safe to eat expired food. They even claim milk is the third most-wasted product in the UK, which is extremely dangerous to drink if expired.

Expiration dates first appeared in stores post-World War II as large consumer chain markets rose in popularity. Before then, you could talk to the sellers at mom-and-pop shops, and they tended to their products and clients. Perhaps you’d buy directly from the grower, depending on where you lived. You cannot ask an associate at Publix where, say, an apple came from and expect an accurate answer. Food arrives by truckloads now and often is imported from overseas.

So, the WEF would like us to eat bugs and expired foods. Rest assured that the elite will be eating the best, riding in their fossil-fueled powered and heated jets and yachts, and laughing as the rest of us suffer. Governments seem to be on board as they also do not want to admit failure via food shortages.

Canada’s Private Sector on the Decline

Armstrong Economics Blog/Canada Re-Posted Sep 19, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

Canada’s job recovery last year seemed strong according to standard measures. However, it was recently revealed that the majority of jobs were created in the public sector. Nearly 9 in 10 jobs created between 2020 and 2021 were in the public sector. Government, not business, is expanding. Between February 2020 and July 2022, private sector growth remained relatively stagnant after posting just a 0.4% increase. The public sector, on the other hand, rose 9.4% in that same period.

So out of the 366,800 jobs added to the economy during the pandemic, only 56,100 were jobs in the private sector. This is not good for Canada’s long-term growth. The private sector has declined from 49.3% to 48.2%, meaning the government is providing jobs for most of the population.

Three million Canadians lost their livelihoods during the pandemic, a 16% contraction, pushing the unemployment rate to 13% from 5.7%. Then the government decided to reopen slowly, very slowly, and brought the majority of the population under their control. You must adhere to all of Trudeau’s mandates as a government employee. The taxpayers help to partially fund these positions and governments cannot manage a bubble gum machine, let alone the livelihoods of the masses.

Statistics Canada recorded a 5.4% unemployment rate for August, an increase from July’s 4.9% posting. Yet, business is not growing. The government now composes a disproportionate number of jobs, and this completely alters the trajectory of the Canadian economy.
