President Trump Remarks During Opportunity Zone Initiative Conference….

In 2017, President Trump signed the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which established ‘Opportunity Zones’ to incentivize long-term investments in low-income communities across the country.  Today President Trump attended a conference to support the Opportunity Zone initiative. The conference aims to coordinate economic and social resources to stimulate growth in those areas.

Do Border Walls Work?

COMMENT: Skeptics who believe a border wall will not stop illegals from entering the United States may want to look at what’s happening in Hungary.

On the day its border fence was completed, the influx of illegals entering Hungary went down from 6,353 per day to 870 the next day. For the remainder of that month, illegal border crossings were steadily below 40 per day, officials said.

“They don’t even try,” a local border guard told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “We haven’t had a single Muslim migrant in six months.” Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s pledge to stop illegals from flowing into the country appears to be a spectacular success.
Hungary’s 96-mile long, 14-foot-tall, double-line fence includes several layers of razor-wire capable of delivering electric shocks. The barrier features cameras, heat sensors, and loudspeakers ready to tell migrants they’re about to break Hungarian law if they as much as touch the fence, the DC report said.

Nearly every police officer in Hungary is part of a rotation to monitor the border fence at all times. Temporary military bases house the police while they do their rotation. Additionally, Hungary will train and pay more than 1,000 volunteers to deploy as “border hunters”.

Illegals who are caught are arrested and dropped off on the Serbian side of the fence. They don’t get a chance to apply for asylum unless they do so at a “transit zone” where they are held in housing containers while their cases get processed, the report said.

In September 2016, thousands of migrants streamed across the border every day as they made their way north to Austria, Germany, and Scandinavia. “It was an invasion,” Laszlo Toroczkai, the mayor of Asotthalom, told the Daily Caller. “Illegal immigration is a crime in a normal country. It’s not a normal thing to break into a country.”

“By mid-year, it was well beyond 100,000 people who came across”, said Zoltan Kovacs, a spokesman for the Hungarian government. “You should at least have the ability to handle what’s going on.” Kovacs added, “You might not like it, it’s not a nice thing, but… the only way to stop illegal border crossings is first building a fence, man it, equip it, and also, in parallel, build up your capabilities in terms of legal confines, legal circumstances to be able to handle what is coming.”

It’s no surprise the mainstream U.S. media refuses to report this story to the American public Can you imagine how support for a Southern border wall would spike?

REPLY: The people who claim Trump’s wall will not work just listen to the propaganda to defeat Trump. The entire objective is to be able to say he failed in 2020. He made a campaign promise to build the wall, and for that reason the Democrats must defeat the wall regardless of the truth. Romans built a wall between England and Scotland to prevent the Scots from raiding Roman settlements. The world’s earliest known civilization was also one of the first to build a defensive wall during the 21st century BC. The ancient Sumerian rulers constructed a massive fortified barrier to keep out the Amorites, who were a group of nomadic tribesmen who were pillaging their settlements.

The “Great Wall of Gorgon” was a 121-mile rampart that extended from the southern coast of the Caspian Sea to the Elburz Mountains in what is now Iran. It is often called the Great Wall of Alexander the Great or “Alexander’s Barrier” that prevented the barbarians from invading from the north. It was most likely constructed by the Sasanian Persians sometime around the 5th century AD, and remains one of the longest walls of antiquity.

Of course, there is China’s legendary Great Wall which stretches from the Gobi Desert to the North Korean border. It was constructed on the fortifications that began during in the 3rd century BC, and it was intended to keep the Mongols out. The completed wall was once the largest manmade object in the world. The Mongol leader Altan Khan bypassed the wall and raided Beijing in 1550.

Naturally, we should not forget the Berlin Wall, modern history’s most infamous wall, which was erected in 1961 to keep people in rather than out. More than 100 people were eventually killed while trying to escape through the maze of 12-foot walls, guard towers, and electrified fences. It stood for almost 29 years before East German authorities finally opened it on November 9th, 1989.

There are many examples of walls throughout history and the world.

I want an independent candidate to take over the Democratic party and offer an even better choice than Trump that will push us further away from the corrupt establishment and get us away from the darker sides of Trump. But if you want to defeat Trump in 2020 you HAVE to stop saying he’s just a dumb idiot – he is far, far from that, and I’m sure even HE was surprised by how profoundly he was underestimated by the comfortable elite. G20 to Trump: ‘All Our Economies Are Belong To You’…

Global economics, and the way the financial media spin, can be funny at times.  On one hand the pretentious global community scoffs at American Exceptionalism and claims the U.S. is only one country amid a international community of equals; on the other hand the reality of the U.S. being the leading economy in the world, and their need to retain access therein, slaps them in the face like a cold fish…

Investment capital flows to the location of highest return.  Amid the U.S. MAGAnomic growth; global investment is inbound to the USA.  The EU and Asia are in a period of low to stagnant growth…  lots of high-brow teeth gnashing.  To make matters worse, Trump is leveraging their weakness against them as he renegotiates reciprocal trade deals.

The G20 IMF and World Bank’s 2019 Annual Spring Meetings of finance ministers (fancy name to describe Mnuchin’s job) is taking place in Washington DC.  The finance ministers are stomping their feet at horrible Trump hoarding all the economic growth.

(Reuters) […] Policymakers from the Group of 20 industrialized countries are worried that the weakness evident in key economies could spread, especially if elevated trade tensions, such as those between the United States and China, escalate further.

“The balance of risks remains skewed to the downside,” Japanese Finance Minister Taro Aso said at a news conference following a meeting of G20 finance ministers and central bankers. “We recognize the risk that growth prospects might deteriorate if weakening in key economies feed into each other.”

[…] As the chair country of this year’s G20 proceedings, Japan wants to deepen talks on global imbalances – an effort to divert Washington’s attention from bilateral trade imbalances and stave off U.S. pressure to negotiate two-way trade deals.

German Finance Minister Olaf Scholz, speaking at an event on the sidelines of the meetings in Washington, said the rules-based order of multilateralism is increasingly under threat and leaders must uphold international cooperation.  (read more)

Horrible Trump is not following the “rules-based order of multilateralism”.  So what exactly does Germany mean by that?….

For the answer lets look at the EU proposal today to avoid Horrible Trump’s demands for fair and reciprocal trade agreements:

(Reuters 2) […]  The EU is expected next week to give final clearance to the start of formal trade talks with the U.S. that could lead to the removal of duties on industrial goods and ease transatlantic tensions.

However, those talks face a series of hurdles, not least the U.S. insistence that market access for its farm productsfeature in the negotiations, something the EU has ruled out.

Germany, whose exports of cars and parts to the U.S. account for more than half the EU total, wants to press ahead with talks to ward off tariffs its carmakers, including Volkswagen, Mercedes maker Daimler and BMW.

France, with few car exports to the U.S., has resisted, insisting that climate change provisions should feature in any deal – a difficult demand given Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement. (more)

So the EU demands include: continued blocks to U.S. agriculture exports; keep open access for their German high-end automobiles; and force the U.S. to join the climate change nonsense.  This is their plan for “free, fair and reciprocal” trade?…. LOL.

Yet somehow they wonder why investment is flowing into the U.S.?

Go figure.

President Trump’s #1 economic challenge right now is to re-skill a new generation workforce to support all the expanded manufacturing investment in the U.S.  This is not a bad problem to have…  Hundreds of new and innovative vocational development programs are ongoing to increase the skills of the U.S. workforce.
