Former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson announces on ABC news that he will be running for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.
Speaking in the customary tones of an evangelical minister trained in the dark arts of using a righteous serpent tongue, Mr. Hutchinson indicates that he carries a higher moral authority to sit in judgement of what the professional Republican Party truly needs. The professional Republican Party likely anticipates dozens of votes for Hutchinson. WATCH:
He’s not running for President; he’s running to be the silver-haired serpent tongue of the professional Republican apparatus. Creepy vibes are all over this guy…
JONATHAN KARL, CNN CHIEF WHASHINGTON CORRESPONDENT: When I spoke to you earlier this year, you said you were thinking about running for president. Have you made a decision? Are you running?
ASA HUTCHINSON (R), FORMER ARKANSAS GOVERNOR: I have made a decision. And my decision is I’m going to run for president of the United States. While the formal announcement will be later in April, Bentonville, I wanted to make clear that to you, Jonathan, I am going to be going to be running.
And the reason — as I’ve traveled the country for six months, I hear people talk about the leadership of our country, and I’m convinced that people want leaders that appeal to the best of America and not simply appeal to our worst instincts.
That inspires me when I see everyday Americans just saying, give us good leadership, give us common sense, consistent conservatism, and optimism about our great country. And that inspires me. And I believe I can be that kind of leader for the people of America.
KARL: Now, you’ve got a lot of experience. You’ve been a prosecutor. You’ve been a member of Congress. You’ve been a governor. You’ve been director of the DEA.
But most people outside of Arkansas don’t know who you are. How do you break through?
HUTCHINSON: Well, a lot of hard work and good messaging. But I’ve spent some time in Iowa, and I love the response that I get there. And so, it’s still about retail politics in many of these states.
And also, this is one of the most unpredictable political environments that I’ve seen in my lifetime. And so, my message of experience, of consistent conservatism, of hope for our future and solving problems that face Americans, I think that that resonates. And whenever I make the final announcement, I’ll be everywhere. And I think it’s a plan that can work in this environment.
KARL: And how does the indictment of Donald Trump by the Manhattan D.A. change this race?
HUTCHINSON: Well, that adds to the unpredictability of it. And I think it’s a sad day for America that we have a former president that’s indicted. And so, it’s a great distraction.
But, at the same time, we can’t set aside what our Constitution requires, which is electing a new leader for our country, just because we have this side controversy and criminal charges that are pending. And the American people are going to have to separate what the ideas are for our future, going to talk about border security and the economy. We have to talk about those.
We have to talk about the leadership of America in the world whenever you have Russia and China taking advantage of any weakness that America shows. So, we can’t be sidetracked for a year and a half.
KARL: You suggested recently that if Trump were to get indicted, that he should drop out of the race. Do you believe that now that he’s been indicted, should he drop out?
HUTCHINSON: Well, I do. First of all, the office is more important than any individual person. And so, for the sake of the office of the presidency, I do think that’s too much of a side show and distraction, and he needs to be able to concentrate on his due process, and there is a presumption of innocence.
But the second reason is, throughout my eight years as governor, and as a political leader, I’ve always said that people don’t have to step aside from public office if they’re under investigation. But if it reaches the point of criminal charges that have to be answered, the office is always more important than a person.
KARL: And he should step aside and no longer run?
HUTCHINSON: Well, he should. But, at the same time, we know he’s not. And there’s not any constitutional requirement. And so he’s going to pursue, and I understand that, but I stated my principles and belief and how I think it should be handled.
But he’s going to proceed on. And so he’s going to be a candidate. And I think, ultimately, the voters are going to have to decide this.
KARL: Do you trust this process in New York? Do you think he can get a fair trial, a fair hearing in New York?
HUTCHINSON: Well, the important thing is that the grand jury found probable cause. And that’s the standard for any criminal charges in our society. And the presumption of innocence follows you. And then there’s a trial. And the termination of guilt or innocence. That’s the American system. We don’t want to erode confidence in our entire criminal justice system simply because we don’t like the beginning parts of the case.
KARL: What about the fundamentals of the case? Put aside the legal issues here. The idea of hush money for a porn star to conceal an alleged affair, does some of this end up making the evangelical voters who supported Trump so strongly in the past think twice about supporting him again?
HUTCHINSON: Well, let’s look at the three different investigations. One is the hush money out of New York. Secondly it is the request and pressure for votes out of Georgia. And the third one, of course, is the mishandling of classified documents in Mar-a-Lago. Those are three very serious investigations. You might say one of them doesn’t showcase anything. But when you look at all three of them combined, it should give Americans pause.
When you ask about the evangelical community, I’m part of that.
KARL: Yes.
HUTCHINSON: And I believe that the evangelical community understands that we need to have a leader that can distance themselves from some of the bad instincts that drive Mr. Trump. And I hope that we can do that in the future.
KARL: You recently said that your lane is the non-Trump lane, as opposed to the anti-Trump lane. What do you mean by that?
HUTCHINSON: Well, it means that I’m providing an alternative to the former president, Donald Trump. Now, when I say non-Trump, I want – I want to be able to speak to the Trump voters, I want to be able to speak to all the party and say, this is the leadership that I want to provide, and I think that we need to have border security. I think we need to have a strong America. I think we need to spend less at the federal level. These are the values that I represent.
KARL: Chris Christie, speaking in New Hampshire recently, said that the key is Republicans need to be fearless in taking on Donald Trump. That does not seem to be the case. I mean look at how candidates and potential candidates have reacted to the indictment. I mean they’ve rallied to Trump’s defense, effectively?
HUTCHINSON: I know there’s going to be some that say I should be tougher on the prosecutor, I should be tougher on the unfairness of this. I’ve expressed my view that I wouldn’t bring those charges if I was a prosecutor. But let’s let the system work.
And what I don’t want to do as a leader is to undermine everything that is good about America, which is our criminal justice system. It’s what sets us apart.
KARL: I mean there are a lot of Republicans attacking that judicial system and that legal system right now.
HUTCHINSON: And I’m different.
KARL: If Donald Trump manages to win the nomination again, becomes the Republican candidate for president, will you support him?
HUTCHINSON: I’m running because I believe that I am the right time for America, the right candidate for our country and its future. And it shouldn’t hinge upon anything else.
KARL: But you couldn’t see yourself supporting Trump again?
HUTCHINSON: I don’t believe he should be the next leader of our country.

Jim Jordan appeared on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo to discuss his perspective on the indictment of President Donald Trump by a politically motivated Manhattan District Attorney, and the potential for the House Judiciary Committee to question DA Alvin Bragg. WATCH:
The only way these radical leftists are going to slow down is if Republican State AG’s and local DA’s start prosecuting Democrats for similar issues. Match them one-for-one on every attempted case. Bring the system to its knees and show the political opposition that there’s no benefit to this political targeting.
Now is not the time for words, letters and half-measures. We are on a war footing now. The GOP state and local officials need to act like it!

Generally polling is sporadic depending on the agenda of the pollster. However, two separate polls released within a 24-hour period show almost identical outcomes.
The YouGov Poll [DATA Here] shows President Trump with a 31-point lead over Ron DeSantis 52/21. No one really close after that. In the head-to-head matchup with only two options, Trump now leads Ron DeSantis 57%-31%. That up from a 47%-39% last month. [Yahoo News Article Here]
Another poll [Article Here] “by Trump’s campaign team, found that 51 percent of Republicans see him as their preferred 2024 candidate – putting him ahead of his biggest threat Ron DeSantis who scored 21 percent.” That’s an almost identical outcome to the YouGov poll.
"Not only is Donald Trump doing really well with the rank-and-file primary voters, he has more room to grow." 👀

QUESTION: I thought you were supporting DeSantis. Are you switching to Trump?
SH
ANSWER: This is not about Trump even as an individual. A lot of people hate him for being arrogant. Put personal issues aside. If we are civilized, we do not condemn a person because we do not like him. All of that is absurd. True, I was asked to meet with Trump to talk him out of running in 2024. They wanted me to meet with DeSantis and the story was he was a better “administrator.” My reply was that I preferred that DeSantis stay right here for they would eat him for lunch in DC.
Even Former U.S. Attorney General William Barr has criticized the indictment, calling it a “disgrace” and a “political hit job.” Barr was certainly no Trump fan.
True, I did not think Trump would win in 2024. There were just too many people who drank the cool-aid to get rid of him so they could do precisely what they are doing right now – climate and war. I am speaking objectively here and NOT in a political endorsement capacity. The headlines going into 2024 will now be all about Trump. Will that drown out any other potential candidates? These are the serious questions we must deal with. Some Democrats think this will guarantee their win in 2024 even if it is Biden again.
As for all the people who hate Trump and are too blind to look at this objectively, Bragg has crossed the line. This will open the door for Republican prosecutors to do the same to Democrats. This can easily collapse into political civil war at the highest levels. That will only contribute to Socrates’ forecast that the USA will probably not exist as soon as 2028.
This has NOTHING to do with Trump as a person. Open your eyes! This was a VERY dangerous move and it made no sense. All of these charges and investigations about Trump are insane. They will never change the minds of those in both camps. They are preaching to the choir as they say. The Democrats behind all of this should have left Trump alone. He would have faded into the sunset. Constantly attacking him has been also part of the Democratic strategy to tear down the Republic Party as a whole.
What I do not like is what our computer is projecting. All of this leads to just political chaos. Some believe this is a diversion created by the Neocons so they can instigate World War III while people are focused on Trump. All my sources now confirm they have brought their agenda forward for war.
So while you focus your hatred on Trump, they are coming for everything that has been on the Neocon wish list for decades. The arrays are NOT my personal opinion. That is just irrelevant. I have never been able to beat Socrates. The Arrays will be the Arrays whether or not we like the outcome. Also, Socrates has already projected the 2024 election before this absurdity.
DON’T FORGET – the 2024 Election Will Not Be NORMAL!

We sit as spectators to a battle, some with various levels of engagement to the fight, but we are spectators, nonetheless. Most watch, many are called to action, the feeling within each spectator is increased deliberateness. We are not the target, we are protected by the target, thus the nature of our focus on the battle.
As we watch the battle, it is worth considering that we are -after all- only spectators, and yet our feeling is very real… very purposeful… very engaged.
Imagine what it is like to be the target, to be the one inside this furnace of hatred and yet never backing down from the flames…. This is the inspiration that President Trump brings to an abused, forgotten, silent majority, and yes… he has a message. WATCH:

...”The GOPe doesn’t quite realize, Donald J Trump isn’t the cause of their failure; he is the result of their failure”…
Before getting to the latest developments regarding the worries of the mid-tier donor class within the Republican apparatus, I want to provide some context for the overall Ron DeSantis (RdS) management agenda.
I can trace the origin of the RdS 2024 scheme to an originating timeframe in late fall 2021. It may go back further than that, but it is at least in place by the late fall of 2021. That means that everything within the professional Republican apparatus, those who manipulate the political events from the controlling wing of the Republican side of the UniParty, had RdS ’24 as the agenda throughout the 2022 midterm calendar.
With that context, the events around the 2022 midterms and the surprising lack of professional Republican gains in the midterm election, start to take on an entirely new Machiavellian light. Not necessarily the RNC corporation; rather, the subsidiary weaponized groups including the Republican Governors Association and the Senate reelection schemes spearheaded by Mitch McConnell et al. In hindsight, those were all done with the context of laying the groundwork for ’22 MAGA defeat and ’24 RdS rise as an outcome.
Throughout the first half of 2022, I was saying there’s no way the GOPe wing would be this stupid. This was based primarily by my own filter saying there had to be a limit to what they think they can pull off.
The Wall St, K-Street, multinational and billionaire funding into RdS during the spring of 2022 was massive, but I held a primary prism that RdS himself had to be smart enough to know it was a suicide mission. However, with the events that unfolded in July and August of 2022, it became obvious that RdS was going all-in on a management program for a 2024 bid.
Perhaps taken in by the intoxicating allure of money, perhaps it didn’t take much convincing, I don’t know. But it was clear the ’24 race was the pretext for everything happening in/around the RdS orbit, including the 5-days in the bunker after the Mar-a-Lago raid and the rebranding national image launch thereafter.
We all know the GOPe operational motive for removing MAGA from the base of influence; it no longer needs to be repeated.
Quite simply the America First agenda puts *their* money at stake, and collectively that amounts to trillions of dollars in multinational globalist financial control. The scale of the money behind the MAGA opposition is really the biggest challenge; it is almost unfathomable, and that scale is represented within the size of the war chest they assembled for RdS.
The top of this financial pyramid holds a grip on political power that is threatened by the worldview, outlook and economic nationalist policy of Donald Trump. The top this system will not ‘lose’ with America-First Trump, they will only gain at a slower rate. This group will not leave their throne, they only see a slower assembling within their vaults.
The Blackrock, Vanguard, State Street and WEF crews will follow the policy and invest in America, they will just hate doing it. They will hate the best-play of slower gains because the returns are not as lucrative, expedient or fraught with the simple indulgences of their custom.
However, underneath that top-tier, there are many layers of vested financial interests at lesser but more generational risk. The Cornwallis crowd will see a much more difficult time with America-First in place advancing their affluence and influence. Loss for them changes things. This is the group being discussed by the NBC article.
Remember, ultimately despite the power dynamic, they are few – the MAGA army is many. It is within these mid-tier donor groups we now see worry about whether RdS can fulfill his assignment as protector of the realm.
WASHINGTON (NBC) – A number of the Florida governor’s donors and allies are worried his recent stumbles suggest he may not be ready for a brutal fight against Donald Trump. Some feel DeSantis needs to accelerate his timeline to run for the GOP presidential nomination and begin directly confronting Trump if he’s to have any chance of thwarting the former president’s momentum. Others believe DeSantis should sidestep Trump altogether and wait until 2028 to run.
At a Sunday luncheon following the annual Red Cross ball in Palm Beach, Florida, a group of 16 prominent Republicans, described by one attendee as a mix of DeSantis backers and Trump “skeptics,” discussed misgivings about the governor’s standing for the future if he tussles with the former president.
“They liked him — many of them might even support him,” the person who was at the event said of DeSantis. “But they thought on balance that his long-term future was better without him trying to take Trump head on.”
“He will get scarred up” by Trump, the person added.
Then there’s conservative billionaire shipping goods magnate Richard Uihlein and his wife, Elizabeth, whose $500,000 in combined contributions ranked them among the most generous donors to DeSantis’ 2022 re-election campaign. A person familiar with the strategy around Uihlein’s spending said that right now, “The brakes are pumped,” adding, “The polling really made different people pause.”
[…] A GOP strategist who has spoken directly with donors in Palm Beach said that this is a week that should be good for DeSantis, considering his chief rival for the nomination could be indicted any day now. And the fact that it’s been so tough for the governor has given some donors pause.
“DeSantis is doing a book tour. He’s barnstorming the country, and his polls are going down,” the strategist said. “Meanwhile, Trump’s potentially under indictment, and Trump’s going up. It’s just not a good look for DeSantis.”
This person added that donors who have given to DeSantis over the past year or two are still open to supporting him for president, but they’re also starting to take a look at other potential candidates like Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., as DeSantis has “fumbled” big moments. (read more)
The problem for the DeSantis management team is the running for office while pretending not to run. However, if RdS were to announce his intent, he would need to resign from the role of Florida Governor due to the “resign to run” rule. Conversely, if RdS asks the Florida legislature to change the rule, it becomes essentially an admission of his intent. It’s the same thing…. So, this annoying pretending -which is obvious- is starting to really annoy voters even more.
As I think back to my own viewpoint in early 2022, I have completely changed my opinion on Ron DeSantis as a smart politician. He is not as smart as I was giving him credit for. In fact, this entire RdS 2024 operation simply affirms they really are that stupid. Desperate and stupid.
