Listen Carefully, Special Counsel Jack Smith Delivers Statement Following Trump Indictment – Indictment Link Included

I would strongly urge people, especially those who walk the deep weeds, to READ THE INDICTMENT carefully, before watching the remarks by special counsel Jack Smith as delivered today.  What you will notice is that 31 of the 37 counts alleged in the indictment are individual counts, one per document, specific to Statute 793(e) which pertains to defense department information.

There were, as claimed in the justice department prior court arguments, and again affirmed today in the indictment itself, 100 classified documents located by the FBI and DOJ after the Trump certification of compliance.  Of those 100 documents, 31 of them were specifically selected to represent the baseline for the 793(e) charge. Listen to Smith emphasize Defense and Defense Intelligence, and soon you will see why.  WATCH:

READ INDICTMENT HERE ~

Jack Smith is relying on 18 U.S. Code 793, a law created in 1948 intended to stop contractors to the Defense Dept from stealing, selling, or copying U.S. defense system secrets, or patents on defense products. [READ THE LAW] The premise of 31-counts [each an individual document] pertain to “National Defense Security.”  The subsequent six counts are predicated around the claimed 793(e) violations.

The DOJ is not, repeat NOT, arguing a classified documents case.  The entire legal framework is centered around documents they define as vital to the defense security of the United States.  EVERYTHING is predicated on this 18 U.S. Code § 793(e) violation:

18 U.S. Code § 793 (e) Whoever having unauthorized possession of, access to, or control over any document, writing, code book, signal book, sketch, photograph, photographic negative, blueprint, plan, map, model, instrument, appliance, or note relating to the national defense, or information relating to the national defense which information the possessor has reason to believe could be used to the injury of the United States or to the advantage of any foreign nation, willfully communicates, delivers, transmits or causes to be communicated, delivered, or transmitted, or attempts to communicate, deliver, transmit or cause to be communicated, delivered, or transmitted the same to any person not entitled to receive it, or willfully retains the same and fails to deliver it to the officer or employee of the United States entitled to receive it.

Despite the verbose language in the indictment, a key element of Lawfare, the case is weak. The prosecutors know it. I will explain.

I am deep in the weeds and assembling notes for outlines to be delivered in the next several articles.  However, that said, perhaps the only time Mark Levin’s shouting was tolerable was last night as he responded to the indictment of President Trump.  WATCH:

Debt Ceiling & War Crisis

Armstrong Economics Blog/Bonds Re-Posted May 31, 2023 by Martin Armstrong

When we look at our Computer’s timing arrays for the 30-year bond, it did show a target last week with a Directional Change. So far the market has held that low and has been consolidating. When we look at the Array, we do not see a crisis with the debt ceiling. However, the next Fed Meeting is July 25-26 and when we look at our Array, we see that is when there is a Panic Cycle.

There is NOBODY in Washington who is ever interested in actually paying off the debt. Even AOC has come out and said there should be no debt ceiling – just print until the cows come home, but that may be a problem when Bill Gates and the WEF want to kill all the cows.

In that regard, we are only making things chaotic. The government should just print the money and not borrow in the first place for they are competing with the private sector which is the ONLY real creator of worthwhile jobs.

Meanwhile, the Neocons are hoping to start a war with massive air drills in Europe going to even Church, which they do not believe in God, and lighting candles just in case he does exist to please make Russia attack. If not, hell, they will just say Russia attacked as they lied and claimed that Vietnam attacked us and Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. War is on the horizon and that is the MOST inflationary influence of all.

Byron Donalds and Chip Roy Are Furious About McCarthy Debt Ceiling Deal – House Freedom Caucus Says “NO”!

Posted originally on the CTH on May 30, 2023 | Sundance

As details begin to emerge, many of the House Republicans are furious at Kevin McCarthy for the deal to lift the debt ceiling he has brokered with Joe Biden.

Suddenly, the prior battle and construct of the House Rules Committee is becoming important.   While Kevin McCarthy may have the 218 votes on the floor of the House to pass the deal, he first has to get it out of the House Rules Committee (HRC).  If three Republicans oppose it in the HRC, McCarthy cannot get it to the floor.  Chip Roy and Ralph Norman are on the HRC and oppose the bill.   Thomas Massie is also on the HRC but appears to be supporting Kevin McCarthy (lol, because muh principles).

Byron Donalds also delivered a strong rebuke of the McCarthy deal, as outlined below:

WASHINGTON DC – […] The powerful House Rules Committee will spend Tuesday afternoon debating and — ultimately working to pass — the bipartisan debt deal, requiring a simple majority of at least seven votes on the panel to come to the floor. But some conservatives, including Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas), a committee member, have signaled they may use their power on that panel to block the debt plan from receiving a full House vote.

“I’m going to do what’s in the best interest and this bill is not in the best interest of the country. That is why Democrats are voting for it,” said Rep. Ralph Norman (R-S.C.), another conservative who sits on the Rules panel and has suggested he will oppose the bill during the panel’s meeting.

[…] Under the panel’s current makeup, Rules Chair Tom Cole (R-Okla.) can lose two GOP votes — along with all four Democratic votes — and still advance the bill.

Senior Republicans believe that’s exactly what’s going to happen, according to three people familiar with the discussions. Norman and Roy haven’t explicitly said they will oppose, though Massie is expected to vote in support of the measure going to the floor.

GOP Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) said that he is “confident” that the bill will hit the floor on Wednesday, noting that Rules would be considering amendments. Members submitted more than 55 amendments to the debt deal, most of them from Republicans but some from Democrats as well. (read more)

Trudeau & Zelensky

Armstrong Economics Blog/Politics Re-Posted May 21, 2023 by Martin Armstrong

COMMENT: Reading yesterday’s post ‘Zelensky Before He Sold Out To The Neocons’ it occurred to me how similar his role has been played as that of my country’s leader Justin Trudeau.
When I first heard Justin talk years back before becoming leader he sounded so in touch with the people and their concerns.
But once Justin got into power he completely changed and did the exact opposite of what he stated publicly.

The degree and meticulousness with which all the current events have been apparently planned is simply mind-boggling.

REPLY: The truth is we no more live in free countries than they did in Russia. The Deep State runs the show and as I have said many times, I can run for office and promise whatever you wish to hear. Then I get there and I am told I will vote as they tell me. Just look at the votes – they are always along party lines. That is why they hated Trump so much. He did not want to play by those rules. Now even the FBI was out to make sure he did not win the election.

Zelensky promised he would bring peace and end the civil war against the Donbas. That is what the Ukrainian people voted for. The next result, millions have now had to flee their own country as Zelensky did what the Neocons told him to do – sell out his own country. I know Ukrainians who have fled and are now living in Berlin losing all their property back home thanks to Zelensky.

Sunday Talks, Devin Nunes Discusses Big Picture of Durham Report with Maria Bartiromo

Posted originally on the CTH on May 21, 2023 | Sundance

SIDE NOTE: The Durham Report is 306 pages with footnotes and citations, combined with a 48-page *classified appendix* that will be available to House and Senate intelligence committee representatives who would request review.   Keep in mind – unfortunately because the classified appendix is attached with the same rules and regulations as attached to the FISC silo, we should anticipate the classified appendix to be reviewed by those with an interest in keeping the information within it hidden from public review.  I will have more on my review of the report shortly.

“We note that the Classified Appendix contains some information that is derived from Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (“FISA”) authorities. Accordingly, to the extent the Department determines that it is appropriate to share information contained in the Classified Appendix with congressional or other government entities outside of the Department, steps will need to be taken in accordance with that Act and any relevant Orders that have been issued by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.” {link}

Hungary Blocks Funding to Ukraine Through European Peace Facility

Armstrong Economics Blog/War Re-Posted May 19, 2023 by Martin Armstrong

The European Peace Facility (EPF) was established in March 2021 to “preserve peace, prevent conflicts and strengthen international security.” So why are the funds being funneled to promote the war in Ukraine after all peace talks were denied? The Hungarian government is asking the same question and recently blocked a 500 million euro payment to Ukraine from the EPF, sparking extreme backlash from the other EU members.

“Hungary does not agree with the fact that the European Union, along with other existing tools, uses the European Peace Facility solely with regard to Ukraine as this does not allow sufficient funds to be channelled to promote the EU’s interests in other areas,” a government spokesman stated. Now the talking heads are claiming Hungary is only safe from Russian aggression due to its NATO status. Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has been criticized as being too far-right, especially as he has called for Trump’s re-election in the US. Orbán has been one of the only EU heads of state to criticize Russian sanctions and question the war in general.

Hungary is proposing that funds be redirected to North Africa, where the forgotten war in Sudan continues, and aiding the Balkans. The EPF has already provided Ukraine with 3.6 billion euros. According to the EPF’s website: “It has a total budget of EUR 7 979 000 000 for the period 2021-2027, with annual ceilings from EUR 399 million in 2021 to EUR 1.434 billion in 2027.” Yet they are willing to go over their annual ceiling to fund the war. And the money is for the war, not peace.

“The EPF finances CFSP actions with military and defence implications that will enhance the Union’s ability to prevent conflicts, build peace, and strengthen international security,” the website further states. The war in Ukraine does not threaten the EU. The EU only saw repercussions after it harshly sanctioned Russia. It is of no coincidence that this fund was developed nearly a year before Russia entered Ukraine. Hungary may be alone in its quest to stop to the endless blank checks, but it is about time someone questioned why every nation is expected to fund a proxy war.
