Defending The “Defender In Chief”: John Yoo On Trump’s Fight For Presidential Power

An Interview with John Yoo

Monday, August 3, 2020

On the occasion of his new book, Defender in Chief: Donald Trump’s Fight for Presidential Power, Hoover visiting fellow and Berkeley Law School professor John Yoo joins the show to make a spirited case against the criticisms of Donald Trump for his supposed disruption of constitutional rules and norms. The conventional wisdom is that Donald Trump is a threat to the rule of law and the US Constitution. Mainstream media outlets have reported fresh examples of alleged executive overreach or authoritarian White House decisions nearly every day of his presidency. In the 2020 primaries, the candidates have rushed to accuse Trump of destroying our democracy and jeopardizing our nation’s very existence. In his book and on this show, John Yoo argues the opposite: that the Founders would have seen Trump as returning to their vision of presidential power, even at his most controversial and outrageous. It’s a fascinating and often humorous discussion that could not be more timely.

A Plea from a Member of the Italian Parliament – International Call to Action

International call to action: demand your governments to access the technical-scientific data of Covid-19 emergency!

Italian international call to action demanding transparency and data on Covid-19.

We are appealing to all the associations (and citizens) whose Countries have experienced and are still experiencing restrictive measures like Italy. We need to share with you an unacceptable fact and we want to ask other citizens in the world to take action in order to shed light on the many shadows that envelop the emergency situation we are facing.

We are an Italian association 1 fighting for freedom of choice in the vaccination and therapeutical fields since 1993, but we are here today speaking also to those associations that do not totally agree with our way of thinking and living freedom.

Italian people have gone through the Covid-19 pandemic strictly following the rules imposed. Italian people have complied with the Government’s restrictions and provisions but even so, for months we have been watching tv programs showing drones, helicopters and law enforcement vessels chasing and identifying individual citizens walking deserted streets or empty beaches, 2-3-4-5-6-7 and even law enforcement precluding religious services. Media have been pointing the finger at the runners, ordinary citizens going solo for a run, suddenly becoming terrible plague spreaders and primary cause of infection, according to the mainstream media narrative.

We are silently accepting our Country’s economy to fall apart and we should at least expect that our Government, responsible for the imposed restrictive measures, would clarify and be willing to provide evidence and answers to the people.

Every single choice the Italian Government made to manage the Covid-19 emergency, was and will be based on the opinion of the Technical-Scientific Committee (CTS). A small number of people called the shots of the Government Agenda, from the forms and lasting of Lockdown, to the masks, the social distancing, and any regulatory act always issued “having consulted the CTS”.
Recently, three lawyers, being part of a foundation, decided to file a FOIA (request for access to documents) , specifically requesting to view the minutes of the Scientific Technical Committee of February 18th, March 1st, 7th, 30th and April 9th. The data and opinions expressed and collected in these minutes are basically the reason, the drive, the foundation for the Government to have issued every act relating to the Covid-19 emergency management.

After the request has been rejected at first instance, the lawyers have been forced to apply to a Court. On July 23rd, 2020 the Regional Administrative Court of Lazio (TAR) had ruled in favour of the publication of the documents by August 21st at the latest. 8

And here is the shocking and for us unacceptable fact: the Italian Government, through the State’s attorney, on July 31st opposed 9the Court (TAR) ruling, motivating that the publication would have caused “a real damage to public order and security that exposing the CTS minutes, at this stage of the emergency, would cause for both technical assessments and general guidelines of the technical body”. 10

On August, 5th 2020, we learned from journalistic sources 11 and from the same lawyers who had requested access to the documents, 12 that the Italian government will publish these minutes, but the question remains unchanged:

Why did not it make immediately transparent what really happened in the emergency? If the Italian government acted on expert opinions, why did it oppose the publication of the data? What are the contents of these reports that should cause damage? Why would damage to public order and security even be expected?

In the next days we will inform everyone about the content of these minutes, verifying together with many experts who work alongside us, if the emergency policies have been correctly undertaken, if they were fair or exaggerated or disproportionate, up to at least the end of the State of Emergency, but the fact that the Government has opposed the publication of documents that should be public, worries us greatly. We remind that the news of the declassification of the minutes, if analyzed with intellectual honesty, show that it took place solely for political conflicts with the parliamentary opposition, not for true listening and transparency towards citizenship.

All of you reading us, both ordinary citizens and associations, have at your disposal a tool created for this kind of action, the Freedom of Information Act, 13 that is the law granting freedom of information and public access to data held by national governments!

Anyone, by a legal team but also independently, may submit along the same lines a request for access to the documents aimed at verifying what are the conditions, the minutes, the documents that the various Countries have based on to pass decrees and various acts in the context of the Covid-19 emergency, obviously in relation to those acts that brought a counterpart in economic and limitations of personal freedoms terms. In our opinion, this is necessary, not because of a priori mistrust but because of a proper civic sense and supervisory task, democratically exercised with the tools available which exist precisely for these purposes.

If you believe that there are the conditions to raise legitimate doubts in the management of Covid-19 and if your Government has not made public all the data, opinions and “advice” of the experts dedicated to the Covid-19 emergency that have led to pass laws with inevitable strong impact on citizens’ lives in the short and long term, request in first person to make the original data and reports visionable!

Repropose this action in various Countries increases the possibility of shedding light on the management of this emergency situation linked to Covid-19, where the Italian government has instead vetoed this possibility, at least for now.

We are here to support all interested parties, according to our capabilities we will provide further clarification and our help for better understanding how the request has been put forward and how the Government has decided to reply.

A coordinated action is important and useful above all because it gives a clear sign of the people’s need and will to have answers, and it also increases the chances to obtain data and answers in this regard.

Thanks to everybody,

How Many Times? That Is The Question

Finance Committee Hearing or Liberal Campaign Ad?

How Many Times? That Is The Question

Prime Minister Trudeau testified before the Parliamentary Finance Committee on July 30th in connection with the WE Charity scandal, currently under investigation by Ethics Commissioner Mario Dion.

Canadians can be forgiven for wondering why.

Amping up the Trudeau charm, well lit and smiling directly into a high-resolution camera, coiffed hair blacker than beard; the relaxed PM was clearly focused upon communicating directly with voters, rather than answering questions from committee members.

The Trudeau brand was under attack, and the message for Canadians was that his Liberal government is doing a great job. The narrative ran that they would in fact be doing even more for Canadians, if it weren’t for Conservatives bringing up this nettlesome conflict of interest thing. Sure, he should have recused himself from approving the sole-source WE contract, but that wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for COVID-19…and his long-standing interest in youth-affairs. The Liberals’ commitment to providing financial assistance to students during COVID-19 led to an accelerated implementation of the CSSG Program…which caused the PM to slow down the approval process because of the increased scrutiny and appearance of conflict of interest that his family affiliation with WE would bring…before then failing to recuse himself from the process. The Civil Service made all the decisions anyway, not the PM. If the logic is difficult to grasp here…well….

Although it is impossible to disconnect the damming, feculent bright-red Liberal dots leading from WE to the Prime Minister, distraught Liberal spin doctors had obviously been billing some overtime on damage control.

The central pivot from conflict of interest and Liberal corruption seems to be good intentions and the tremendous benefit to young Canadians that could have been…if only the unfortunate scandal hadn’t blown up (read, if they hadn’t been caught).

Canadians should blame the Conservatives and Bloc Quebecoise, for making a mountain out of a mole-hill, really…when you think about it…from a Liberal prospective…

The questioning began:

MP Pierre Poilievre – “What is the total dollar value of all expenses reimbursed and fees paid and any other consideration provided by the WE group to you, your mother, your spouse, your brother and any other member of your family? Just the total please.”

PM Trudeau – “Uh…I don’t have that exact figure…uh…reimbursing expenses is something done by an organization…uh…for example…so I don’t have…uh…those totals.”

Liberal MP Julie Dzerowicz (trying) – “Mister Speaker…uh…Point of Order…Mister Chair, sorry…not Mister Speaker. My Point of Order is what’s the relevance of these questions…uh…of ancillary…uh…fees paid to family members to the official motion…?”

Chairman Wayne Easter – “I don’t think that is a Point of Order Miss Dzerowicz, back to Mister Poilievre.”
Poilievre – “So you are telling me that you don’t know how much immediate family members have been paid in expense reimbursements by this organization.”
Trudeau – “Uh…my mother and my brother are professionals in their own right who…uh…have…uh engagements…uh…and have for many, many years with organizations across the country…”
Poilievre – “Do you know?”
Trudeau – “…uh…and I…uh…don’t have the details of their…uh…work…uh…work experiences of their…uh…expenses.”
Poilievre – “What about your spouse? What is the dollar figure?”
Trudeau – “Uh…WE…uh…I think WE Charity has been able to share those figures with you.”
Poilievre
 – “When was the last time that she had an expense reimbursed by WE Charity?”
Trudeau – “Uh…I…uh…believe it would have been to uh…”

As one can gather from this short excerpt, the Prime Minister was less than forthcoming. It’s a fine line between pivoting and refusing to answer. In Court, it may well have led to a charge of Contempt. Perhaps a Contempt of Parliament charge would be appropriate here.

Trudeau’s repetitive and vexatious use of the word “uh”

Also telling was Trudeau’s repetitive and vexatious use of the word “uh”. In linguistics, “uh” is known as a “hesitation form”, or “filler word”. Filler words are often a red flag for deception. In Psychology Today, Professor Jack Schafer of Western Illinois University, a behavioral analyst for the FBI, explains. “Little words, often ignored in normal speech, can signal deception. Words such as um and uh indicate cognitive load. Liars experience increased cognitive load. Um and uh signal impending delays is speech. Liars need time to evaluate their answers to ensure their lie will be believed. Liars also need additional time to choose the right words to camouflage the truth. Truthful people do not need extra time to convey information.”

The Prime Minister wouldn’t lie though, would he?

So, what are the issues with WE-Gate exactly?

The growing Hydra-like list may keep Commissioner Dion up at night:

  • Was CSSG designed specifically for WE to administer?
  • Why the Canada Service Corps was not tasked with CSSG?
  • Why a sole-source contract?
  • Details of due diligence done, due to the fact that WE appeared to be in financial trouble and in violation of bank covenants. WE Board Members had resigned and mass layoffs of staff had occurred. WE had also never delivered a similar program previously.
  • Why was WE paid $30M upfront, and how will it repay taxpayers?
  • Why was a WE real estate shell company used, instead of WE Charity?
  • Why was a $30M upfront payment made on contract award?
  • WE claimed initially that the PMO had called, asking if they wanted the CSSG contract.
  • Who authorized WE, and why, to begin spending money on May 5th, prior to June 23rd approval?
  • Failure to recuse/Conflict of Interest –
    • PM has spoken for WE in past
    • WE has paid for Trudeau campaign ads/gave Trudeau a platform to connect with hundreds of thousands of young voters
    • WE has paid Margaret and Alexander Trudeau
    • WE has paid Sophie Trudeau
    • WE relationship with Katie Telford
    • WE paid Bill Morneau $42K expenses
    • WE employs two Morneau daughters.

Beyond the blatant corruption

Beyond the blatant corruption issues however, the CSSG model may have also been fatally flawed from birth. The very real possibility exists that CSSG could violate Minimum Wage laws. CSSG would pay a student up to $10 per hour, which is less than the minimum wages in all of Canada’s provinces and territories. If the concept of paid volunteers seems counter-intuitive, the law actually recognizes two classes of volunteers. According to Labour Law firm Goldblatt Partners, “Volunteers are not covered by the Employment Standards Act in Ontario, and need not be paid the minimum wage. But that does not mean that an employer can evade its obligations under the Act by classifying anyone as a volunteer. Only a ‘true volunteer’ is excluded from the protections of the Act…if a participating student views the program as a means to make a livelihood during a time that fewer summer jobs are available, they may be able to argue that they are not a ‘true volunteer.’” A class action lawsuit waiting to happen then.

But, back to the show.

Poilievre (translation) – “I have a simple question for you. How many times does a Minister in your Government need to break the Ethics Act before being sacked? How many times?”
Trudeau (translation) – “We…uh…take it very seriously, every time there are Ethics issues…
Poilievre – “How many times?”
Trudeau – “…and…”
Poilievre – “How many times?”
Chair – “The Prime Minister has the floor…and he has the right to answer. Mister Prime Minister”

He had the right to answer, but apparently not the ability.

How many times? That is the question…for all Canadians.

Great campaign slogan for Conservatives next election cycle…

Italexit – New Party in Italy to Exit the EU

We are witnessing the rise of the new party in Italy headed by Gianluigi Paragone calling for the exit of there EU. New Italian party calls for the exit from EU bolding saying: “Germany takes everything and leaves the crumbs to the rest of the states.” As the economic hardship rises thanks to the virus scam, this risk our computer shows is not that they will win, but they are sowing the seeds of their own destruction. They will move to eliminate the physical currency and then they will advocate for perpetual bonds.

Paragone began as a journalist. In 2018 he was elected Senator of the Five Star Movement. Then on January 1, 2020, he was officially excluded from the Five Star Movement but remained in the Senate as an independent. Then now in July 2020, Paragone has launched his own political movement, Italexit, with the aim of bringing Italy out of the European Union

The oppression of this virus agenda to force compliance with their Great Reset runs the risk of destroying the economies of Southern Europe which have a very high reliance upon tourism which has been brought to a halt in Europe.

Unhyphenated American Lloyd Marcus is gone—but the Trump Train He Created Rides On

No words could ever convey the sorrow here at Canada Free Press upon hearing the news that our courageous columnist,  “unhyphenated-American” Lloyd Marcus has passed.

An early morning email from our mutual friend Valerie Price alerted me this morning, and I haven’t been able to shake my worries about his beloved wife, Mary, who adored him, all this day.

Lloyd and Mary kept their love alive from decades-ago days when they were high school sweethearts.

Lloyd died, aged 71, one day after his 44th Wedding Anniversary.

The shock of Lloyd’s death of a heart attack on Friday was all the more unnerving because it was only on Thursday, he sent us his last column, ‘Last Stand to Save America as Founded’:

“Seriously folks, we must do everything in our power to reelect our remarkable president. This election is our last stand to save America as founded. America is counting on you.”

A talented singer and songwriter, Lloyd’s latest popular music production was the ‘Trump Train 2020’ music video.

In his Thursday column he urged readers, “Please spread the Trump Train 2020 music video far and wide to counter Neil Young’s song, “We Got to Vote Him Out!”

A down-to-earth, unassuming Tea Party legend, Lloyd and Mary, gave up a peaceful home life, appearing at countless rallies and gatherings across the country.

Like all conservatives putting America first, he sometimes ran into resistance, and found it hard to understand how so many people are buying into media propaganda.

“For example: My sister is one such low-info Christian voter. I recruited her awesome alto voice to sing in the choir at the recording session of my Trump Train 2020 song. The choir was mostly white, all Trump supporters. She noticed that they were good friendly everyday people, not the rabid racists portrayed by media. Her eyes popped out of her head in disbelief when I told her San Francisco gives tourists maps to avoid the piles of human feces on the streets left by vagrants. She had no idea that Trump was responsible for black unemployment being its lowest in U.S. history.

“In the Trump Train 2020 music video, she is the beautiful black woman singing the solo line, “Don’t you feel the engines roar!”

“Folks, in these final months leading up to the November election, the Democrat/communist party will launch every wicked scheme in their depraved playbook to attack the American people to stop them from reelecting one of the greatest presidents in U.S. history, Donald J. Trump.

“Black Lives Matter, ANTIFA and various other anti-christian and anti-American hate groups do not want “brotherhood” as desired by Dr King. They want to punish white America. They demand that whites physically kneel to blacks and beg forgiveness for their sin of being born white. The people in these groups are wicked and must not be tolerated. At the top of your lungs, scream the word, “No!” to them.

“I’ve awakened 2am in the morning, turned on my TV and have encountered lie-filled news stories trashing Trump. The hits on Trump just keep on comin’.

“This is what we are up against, folks.

“A large percentage of the country get their news from mainstream (fake news) media. Consequently, they are clueless regarding many important issues.”

In many of his columns, Lloyd wrote about his much beloved Father, the late Rev. Lloyd E. Marcus, the first man who broke the color barrier in the Baltimore Fire Department.

He wrote on Thursday, “I am the eldest of 4 boys and one girl. My sister was Dad’s princess. He purchased her first car, a brand new Fiat. He made me work to purchase my first “used” car. The good news is Fiats were lemons; just kidding.

“Seriously folks, we must do everything in our power to reelect our remarkable president. This election is our last stand to save America as founded. America is counting on you.

“We have so much work to do. This is all hands on deck. This election is our last stand to save our founding father’s divinely-inspired vision of America.

“Please talk to your neighbors, family and friends encouraging them to vote for Trump. Let them know what is at strike. that they were good friendly everyday people, not the rabid racists portrayed by media.”

‘The Man in the Black Hat’ served his country well, calling out for its protection even on his last day among us.

Canadian Valerie Price, his biggest fan north of the border and I will dry our tears and pray for the Creator to comfort Mary in her heartbreak and grief.

But the thousands of those whose lives Lloyd Marcus touched will go on riding the Trump Train as if he were still here—because to all who knew and love him, he IS.

Trudeau Brand Analysis

What does the Trudeau brand really stand for? Privilege, Arrogance, Disdain, Self-Promotion, Indifference, and Failure. Image over substance

The Salmon Arm Salute – Jenn KovachikThe Salmon Arm Salute - Jenn Kovachik

With the Prime Minister facing yet another investigation by Ethics Commissioner Mario Dion, his third since taking office in 2015, Canadians need to take a hard look at the Trudeau brand.

How does brand promise contrast with operational reality?

What does the Trudeau brand really stand for?

The Trudeau brand values were Young, Hip, Smart and Liberal. Image over substance

In order to understand the Trudeau brand, it is necessary to travel back through the mists of time to a different age; the turbulent 1960s. Hippies, Pot, Acid, the Counterculture, Carnaby Street, Andy Warhol, the Grateful Dead, Timothy Leary, the Vietnam War, Civil Rights, rioting in the streets, Martin Luther King…Bobby Kennedy was running for President…the Beatles were still together…it was an exciting time to be young and alive.

In this atmosphere of social revolution, a little-known lawyer from Montreal named Pierre Elliott Trudeau was appointed Minister of Justice and Attorney General by then Prime Minister Lester Pearson. In April of 1968 Trudeau won the Liberal Party leadership and became Prime Minster in the June election. The first celebrity politician in Canada, his campaign ran on personality and generated an intense emotional energy amongst supporters that was dubbed “Trudeaumania”, due to the hoards of screaming female fans that drew a parallel to the hysteria of Beatles fans.

Against Conservative Robert Stanfield, the stodgy scion of a prominent New Brunswick family; the witty, charismatic, socially-liberal 48-year-old bachelor Trudeau cleaned up easily with 154 seats.

Despite being a middle-aged lawyer, Trudeau dated attractive movie stars, drove a Mercedes 300 SL, and sometimes wore denim. Somehow, he could pull it off. His initials were PET. Overnight, Canada was suddenly cool.

This was the genesis of the Trudeau brand. Forged in the psychedelic, drug-fueled, rock and roll, colour TV, FM radio atmosphere of the late 60s.
You had to be there.

The Trudeau brand values were Young, Hip, Smart and Liberal. Image over substance.

He was friendly with Cuban Dictator Fidel Castro—Bragged He Was A Communist

While Trudeau had charmed Canadians in 1968, the love affair didn’t last. Winning only a minority in 1972, he was defeated on a vote of non-confidence in 1974, which led to another majority win in the resulting election. He was defeated by Conservative Joe Clark in 1979, who was also brought down by a vote of non-confidence, and then defeated by Trudeau in the 1980 election. Facing dismal poll numbers, which had dropped to 25% by 1982, Trudeau resigned in 1984 and handed over to Finance Minister John Turner (making 70 unpopular backroom patronage appointments as part of the deal).

His time in office was fraught with controversy.

Feb 16th, 1971 Trudeau was accused of having told opposition MP’s in the House to go forth and multiply. This became known as the “fuddle duddle” incident. In a CBC interview (CBC Digital Archives, 1971) Tory MP, Lincoln Alexander “He mouthed two words. The first started with the letter F, the second word the letter O.”

During a vacation trip in 1982, the PM extended a middle finger to local BC protestors from the borrowed Governor General’s railcar, in an incident famously recorded in history as the “Salmon Arm Salute”. Visitors can view the preserved railcar (National Post, 22 Aug 16) and pose with a cardboard Trudeau at a resort near Craigellachie, BC.

He was friendly with Cuban Dictator Fidel Castro and praised the Soviet Union (Maclean’s, 28 Feb 18) during the Stalin years, bragging that he was a communist.

The Reality Behind the Image

In 1970 he deployed the military on Canadian streets under the War Measures Act.

In 1971, the 51-year-old Prime Minister married Margaret Sinclair, the 22-year-old flower-child daughter of Liberal MP and Cabinet Member James Sinclair of Vancouver.

The March 21st, 1977 cover story in Maclean’s featured a photo of Margaret Trudeau and Mick Jagger, with the banner “Margaret and the Rolling Stones” which detailed her exploits with the bad-boy rockers.

At a state dinner in Venezuela, she honored the country’s first lady with an impromptu song instead of a planned toast, and later admitted that she had taken peyote (Bazaar, 17 Mar 16) beforehand. The press had a field day.

In 1978 Margaret Trudeau, then separated from her husband, appeared in a High Society Magazine cover story entitled “Margaret Trudeau – Caught With No Panties!”. The photo, which showed Canada’s first lady seated on the floor of notorious New York disco Studio 54 sans lingerie, was auctioned in 2017.

She hung with Andy Warhol.

Not unlike say Paris Hilton officially representing Canada abroad. Viral quality clickbait potential definitely, but embarrassing for most Canadians.

Three decades later, in a new age of post-truth and social media, all that remained in the minds of a majority of Canadian voters was brand recognition. Succeeding generations and a large immigrant population were unaware that the Trudeau brand had tarnished since it’s introduction in 1968. Celebrity had become the key value in political contests, and almost seven-million Canadians looked no further than the Trudeau name and tinsel-town allure at the polls in 2015.

Since then, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has continued in the family tradition, with scandal after scandal keeping Liberal spin-doctors in a state of perpetual angst.

Justin Trudeau’s List of Scandals

Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, these include:

  1. Lavalin-gate
  2. Aga Khan Gate
  3. Embarrassing Indian Costumes and Bhangra dance
  4. Indian Terrorist Invited to Trudeau Reception in Delhi
  5. Elbow-gate
  6. Black Face x 3
  7. Vice Admiral Mark Norman Trial
  8. Various Cash for access scandals
  9. Praise for Cuban Dictator Fidel Castro
  10. Castro serves as pallbearer with Justin Trudeau at Pierre Trudeau’s funeral
  11. 20,000 Missing Public Works Projects
  12. WE Charity Scandal.

Pierre Trudeau tripled Federal spending between 1969-79 (MacDonald Laurier Info Wars Debate, 27 Sep 11) and plunged the country into recession in 1982, almost bankrupting it. His National Energy Program (NEP) nationalized foreign oil interests and repelled investors. Wage and Price controls contributed to the economic nightmare. It took thirty years to repair the damage done. He gutted the military, polarized parties through evoking the War Measures Act in 1970, and alienated English Canadians through his blatant favouritism of Quebec. As author Bob Plamondon wrote in his book “The Truth About Trudeau”, “No prime minister did more damage to national unity.”

Justin Trudeau has also virtually destroyed Canada’s economy, gutted the energy sector

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Since 2015, Justin Trudeau has also virtually destroyed Canada’s economy, gutted the energy sector, failed to win a UN Security Council seat, ditched his promise to create a proportional electoral system (which would have meant a Liberal loss in 2019), flooded the country with controversial refugees, inspired Quebec voters to elect a separatist party to Parliament, inspired a Western separatist party, and alienated just about everyone in the country without a special-interest lobby (and some who do). Disunity now threatens Canada’s future.

What does the Trudeau brand really stand for?

Privilege, Arrogance, Disdain, Self-Promotion, Indifference, and Failure. Image over substance.

Edmonton artist Jenn Kovachik captured it all in “The Salmon Arm Salute”. It would make a great logo.

The Last Stand to Save America as Founded

Seriously folks, we must do everything in our power to reelect our remarkable president. This election is our last stand to save America as founded. America is counting on you

My patriotic mood began re-watching Whitney Houston’s spectacular performance of our National Anthem at Super Bowl XXV in 1991. Whitney’s rendition was re-released as a single after the 9/11 terrorists attacks. She donated all proceeds to charity.

“Fourscore and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, on this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.”— Abraham Lincoln

Wow! Lincoln said it right there in his Gettysburg address that America was founded upon the principle that all men are created equal. Leftist schools have taught our kids for decades that America was founded by evil white guys with no desire for equality. Yes, it took awhile to reach our goal of equality for all Americans; 600,000 dying in the Civil War to free the slaves and years of civil rights battles paved the way to elect our first black president. But, we got there folks. We got there!

“The thing that sets the American Christian apart from all other people in the world is he will die on his feet before he’ll live on his knees.” —George Washington

I pray that Christians will stop kneeling to wicked cultural demands and begin standing up again for Godly principles. Far too many youths are Marxist zealot domestic terrorists because we’ve allowed leftist schools to poison their minds about their God, their family and their country. Outrageously, across America “yutes”  are scolding, lecturing and punishing their parents for being Christians, patriotic Americans and gun-owners.

“I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.”—Dr Martin Luther King, Jr.

Black s Matter, ANTIFA and various other anti-christian and anti-American hate groups do not want “brotherhood” as desired by Dr King. They want to punish white America. They demand that whites physically kneel to blacks and beg forgiveness for their sin of being born white. The people in these groups are wicked and must not be tolerated. At the top of your lungs, scream the word, “No!” to them.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.—Psalm 33:12

America is a Christian nation, brilliantly and divinely founded upon biblical principles. Stating this truth enrages BLM and ANTIFA causing them to vomit green-slime and their heads to spin around backwards. Evil is repulsed by good. Alexis de Tocqueville said “America is great because America is good.”

Folks, in these final months leading up to the November election, the Democrat/communist party will launch every wicked scheme in their depraved playbook to attack the American people to stop them from reelecting one of the greatest presidents in U.S. history, Donald J. Trump.

We have so much work to do. This is all hands on deck. This election is our last stand to save our founding father’s divinely-inspired vision of America. Please talk to your neighbors, family and friends encouraging them to vote for Trump. Let them know what is at strike. Here is a list of 42 crazy disastrous things Biden will implement if elected.

I’ve awakened 2am in the morning, turned on my TV and have encountered lie-filled news stories trashing Trump. The hits on Trump just keep on comin’. This is what we are up against folks.

A large percentage of the country get their news from mainstream (fake news) media. Consequently, they are clueless regarding many important issues.

For example: My sister is one such low-info Christian voter. She had no idea that Trump was responsible for black unemployment being its lowest in U.S. history.

We flew many of our singers from the east coast to California to perform in the Trump Train 2020 song music video. Upon landing in California, my sister was stunned to see the “all gender” restrooms with signs welcoming transgenders at the airport. This opened the door for me to educate her about the extreme LGBTQ agenda that Biden and the Democrats want to implement across the country. My buddy, Robert Kirk, brilliantly exposes the wacko California LGBTQ mandates in his award-winning comedy short film, “Nightmare in Paradise.”

I suspect my sister will vote for Trump. In the Trump Train 2020 music video, she is the beautiful black woman singing the solo line, “Don’t you feel the engines roar!”

Please spread the Trump Train 2020 music video far and wide to counter Neil Young’s song, “We Got to Vote Him Out!”

I am the eldest of 4 boys and one girl. My sister was Dad’s princess. He purchased her first car, a brand new Fiat. He made me work to purchase my first “used” car. The good news is Fiats were lemons; just kidding.

Seriously folks, we must do everything in our power to reelect our remarkable president. This election is our last stand to save America as founded. America is counting on you.

All Lies Matter

This is my fifth review of a children’s propagandist library book.  “Tasting the Sky” described Barakat’s childhood.  “Balcony on the Moon” covers her high school years and her ongoing pursuit for Palestine.

***

Ramallah-born Ibtisam Barakat, a kind, intelligent child, has become a thoughtful, accomplished young woman.  She excelled in her studies and defied Islamic custom by breaking free of an early arranged marriage to pursue her education.

In her book, Balcony on the Moon, she explains that she was born in “Palestine,” but questions why it appears nowhere on a map.  Except for the nineteen years of Jordan’s rule over its “West Bank,” it was historically Judea (from which is derived “Jew”) and Samaria.  The name Palestine was a Roman-contrived insult to the Jews, a taunt of their ancient Cretan enemies, the Philistines.

Ibtisam’s surname, Barakat, is Egyptian.  Her mother is Bedouin, a nomadic people.  There is no history, government, language, culture, literature, monetary system, or archaeological evidence of a Palestinian nation.

As further explanation, the following is my abridgement of Efraim Karsh’s The Privileged Palestinian“Refugee.”

After World War II and the displacement of millions, the UN General Assembly organized the International Refugee Organization (IRO) in December 1946.  Only the Arab escapees of the 1948-49 war received their own relief agency with 110 times the money allocated to others worldwide, although they did not meet the conventional refugee concepts.  They were not unprovoked victims, but the aggressors who should have compensated their Jewish and Israeli victims.  They were not displaced victims because they remained in their country of nationality, and they had no fear of persecution because Israel did not persecute them.  Israel’s future prime minister, Ben Gurion, promised them equality without exception, no harm, no expulsion, but peaceful coexistence with Israel’s Arab population.  Nevertheless, the UN blindly registered the false claimants as refugees, a lie, even adding new non-Palestinian arrivals to the roster.

They could not return to their dwellings in Judea and Samaria, Jordan’s West Bank, because Egypt and Jordan prohibited them, and Israel was awaiting a workable peace plan.  Those who fled to Jordan became Jordanian citizens.  And had King Hussein not attacked, there would have been no war, no refugees, and the West Bank would have remained Jordan’s.

Within months of its creation, UNRWA should have yielded control to the host countries and ended UN support for the works program on June 30, 1951, but it didn’t.  The Arabs refused to improve their condition and, instead, demanded increased and improved medical and education services.  The works program became a relief operation for an exaggerated number of Arabs; the mission of reintegration was all but abandoned by 1956.

Seventeen thousand displaced Jews in Israel plus hundreds of thousands of Jewish refugees from Arab countries were absorbed into Israel’s citizenry, but the Arabs perpetuated their entitlement status of welfare recipients for generations, now in its 72nd year of eternal refugeedom.  Each time the Arabs were offered a large expanse of land, they refused and went to war.  They remain in the West Bank and in Gaza, hoping to someday conquer Israel and rename it Palestine for themselves.

Ibtisam Barakat’s Author’s Note begins: “When I mention that I am Palestinian, I am often asked: but where is Palestine on the map?”  She defines it geographically as an area ruled by many nations, Ottoman governance until World War I and a British military mandate until 1948.  (TK-This was followed by Jordanian control for 19 years following its attack on Israel, until Jordan lost another attack in 1967, when Israel, the victor, was forced into administering the territory.  It is now called “disputed land,” not Palestine.)

Ibtisam continued that Israel became a state because of the Holocaust, an incorrect, perpetuated lie.  Theodore Herzl, journalist, playwright, and visionary began bringing the centuries of love of Zion (Israel) to the world in the 1800s.  Ibtisam said that Britain had suppressed Palestinian aspirations for freedom, not true, a lie, and that Israel had been established on three-quarters of the mandate, also untrue, a lie.  The Jews were betrayed in several ways over 100 years, one being that 78% of the land originally promised to them became Jordan, and the Arabs west of the Jordan River declined statehood.  They were Egyptians, Yemenites, Iraqis and sundry nomadic tribes, not Palestinians.  They adopted the term in 1967 to support their victimhood narrative (a lie) with its lure of financial aid and the eventual goal of eradicating the Jews.  They eschewed statehood and independence.

During and after the Holocaust, many Jews returned to their homeland (then a borderless swath of land known as Palestine) and embraced Zionism, the movement to re-create the Jewish state.  After tirelessly petitioning for an independent state in their homeland, Israel became a UN-recognized, independent nation in 1948.  Tension between Jews and Arabs a constant, now escalated, and the neighboring Arabs immediately waged war against the nascent state.

Lest Ibtisam or the reader continue the belief that the upheaval rests with Israel’s rebirth, we must return to the history of Islamic Jihad, beginning with Mohammed’s slaughter of Meccan Jews in 620 CE to the present.  The Quran commands violence.  Muslims must convert or eliminate all non-Muslims.  Mohammed founded the deadly cult of Islam, his words encouraging Islam’s children to relinquish their lives so as to take the lives of others.  Only Islam has this unique fanaticism of a self-sustaining religious component that feeds on the psychological weaknesses of humans who fear the unknown and need a secure hereafter.  This is what drives them to accept suicide bombings, fight holy wars, force conversions, and slaughter humans – the comfort that their view is must be followed by the rest of the world.

Ibtisam continues her story of family and school, surrounded by war and war stories.  She is never taught that their leadership refuses statehood and independence at every opportunity, and that her people’s political narrative of victimhood is a fallacy, another lie.  Just as she seeks independence, so too could her people have done the same.  The key was in their own hands.

In ninth grade, she learns about Dalal al-Mughrabi, the female terrorist  responsible for the 1978 Coastal Road massacre in Israel, killing 39 Israeli civilians, including 13 children, and compares 30 hours of fierce offensive terrorism with Menachem Begin’s defensive actions.   Attempting to equate an act of terror and slaughter with Israel’s self-protection is an invention, a lie.  She learns to create her own newspaper by reversing roles, featuring the terrorist Dalal as the embodiment of heroism, courage and resistance.

With each bomb explosion, she believes that armed Israeli settlers are taking Palestinian property.  She has bought the war of words, using settlers to mean colonizers, when these Jews are the progeny of the indigenous people of thousands of years before who hold the legal title deed to the land of Israel.  Not only can the Jewish people claim an eternal covenant to the land of Canaan given them by God in Genesis 13-17, but upon their return from exile in the late 1890s, they bought the desolate land at exorbitant prices from the absentee Arab landlords who had laid claim to the land under the Ottoman Empire.

Our writer looks back, but not far enough. For her, the conflict began when Jews said they would rebuild Israel on Jewish land, and purchased or restored fallow or swamp land in the early 1900s.  But it began long before.  From the Prophet’s jihad against Arabs (622-634);  to the Jewish tribes (624), to Zoroastrians (634-651), to Byzantine Christians (634-1453), Berbers (650-700), Hindus (638-1857), Christian Coptic Egyptians (640-655), Nubians (650), Turks (651-751), Spaniards (711-730), Franks (720-732), Chinese (751), Sicilians (812-940), Armenians and Georgians (1071-1920), Mongols (1260-1300), Albania (1332-1853), Serbs, Croats and Albanians (1334-1920), Romania (1350-1699), Bulgaria (1350-1853), Croatia (1389-1843), Poland (1444-1599), Indonesians and Malays (1450-1500), Assyrians, Armenians and Greeks (1450-1853), Russia (1500-1683), Hungarians (1500-1683), Germany (1529 – ongoing), Yazidis (1640), Austrians (1683), and into modernity – Israelis, Americans, British, Russians, Norwegians, Swedes, Thais, Nigerians, Australia –jihad is now global.  The International Union of Muslim Scholars calls on all Muslims to spread incitement to terror and extremism, for Palestinians to “seek death so as to be given life.”

Certainly, Ibtisam has not studied true Islamic history and she would be shocked to learn of the centuries of bloodshed, and it is possible that she would deny that history.  In Islam, lies are acceptable if the purpose is deemed worthy.  Mohammed set the laws: it was right to take land from others, to steal women from conquered men, and to make and break treaties for conquest.

The concept was significant when Ibtisam was taking her final high school exam, and her proctor asked if she would help a girl who was crying because she had no student enough to complete the questions.  Ibtisam reasoned that this would not qualify as cheating because Islam justifies lying if it is done to help a fellow Muslim.  She did not reason that if this incompetent student is accepted into college and subsequently drops out, the space she appropriated from a capable student is now lost.  The help for one came at the expense of another, and the lie has now become theft, perhaps even life-altering.

The Palestinians who once identified with other Arab countries came to Israel and now occupy land they lost in their war of aggression against Israel, previously Jordan’s, previously Ottoman, previously a host of other ruling entities.  Wars change boundaries.  Until Israel chooses to annex the area, the Palestinians will continue to have meager health services because their huge funds are funneled to the PA for weapons and awards for mothers of martyrs.  Today’s Arabs are tired of Arab corruption and more freely express that they prefer life under Netanyahu.  They want an Israeli ID to work freely in Israel, a parliamentary democracy.

Saudi writer Abdulhameed Al-Ghobain tells the Arabic media that he and others support Israel’s annexation of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.  He states, “There was a call for establishing a Palestinian state. The Palestinians, the Arabs, and even the Arab league refused to recognize that there should be a Palestine state.  Maybe if a Palestinian state had been established, the situation would be different.  So for us to be waiting all these years, destroying our Arab nation, destroying our economies and not achieving anything . . . I arrived at the conclusion that this cause has not been a real and just cause at any point in history.  The Palestinian cause is an illusion … nothing to do with reality.”

Europe Exploding into Civil Unrest – The Start of Revolutionary Cycle – 2020

Politicians are about to be confronted with the harsh reality of their insane lockdowns in Europe. Germany now realizes there is building massive civil unrest and there is no doubt that this New Green World Order is out to end the car industry which is a major industry the will leave the workers without a future. The government is preparing for major civil unrest and out computer has been warning Europe is being pushed into civil war as tourism has been crushed.

Meanwhile, yesterday night demonstrators in Belgrade attacked the Serbian Parliament throwing stones and bottles at the windows of the parliament building. We are looking at serious civil unrest which can lead to revolution insofar as breaking up the EU as they push for this New Green World Order which will destroy the future of so many in Europe. Only elitists view that such a transition is no problem. They underestimate the economic damage and this is the END of perpetually borrowing with no intension of ever repaying any debt.

President Trump and President Lopez-Obrador Sign Joint Statement – Press Conference – 3:30pm ET Livestream…

U.S. President Trump and Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador will be holding a joint press conference prior to signing a joint declaration celebrating the initiation of USMCA in the Rose Garden. Anticipated start time 3:30pm ET

UPDATE: Video and Transcript Added

.

[Transcript] – PRESIDENT TRUMP: Well, thank you very much, everyone. It’s a nice hot day, to put it mildly — (laughter) — so we’ll make this quick. But it’s all very positive — that, I can say.

And it’s my tremendous pleasure to welcome everyone to the White House with my good friend, President López Obrador of Mexico. We’ve had a very outstanding relationship.

Mr. President, we’re truly moved that you chose to make your first foreign visit since taking office — very successfully taking office, I might add — to be with us at the White House.

The relationship between the United States and Mexico has never been closer than it is right now. And as the President said a little while ago, people were betting against that. They were actually betting against that. But it’s never been stronger, never been closer. We’re doing a tremendous job together.

We’re cherished friends, partners, and neighbors. Our cooperation is founded on mutual trust and mutual respect between the two of us and between our two countries. And we honor the great dignity of both nations.

With this visit, President López Obrador and I have the opportunity to strengthen the bond we afford since his impressive election victory more than two years ago — a victory the Vice President and Ivanka joined in celebrating at the swearing-in. That was a very exciting day for them.
Each of us was elected on the pledge to fight corruption, return power to the people, and put the interests of our countries first. And I do that and you do that, Mr. President.

The tradition of great respect between Mexican and American Presidents goes back to the early days of both of our nations. And, in particular, it includes President Abraham Lincoln and President Benito Juárez, who each held one another in very, very high esteem. They were great friends and they did great things together. And we are grateful that, this morning, President López Obrador laid a wreath at the memorials that stand to each of these leaders, right here in our nation’s capital. That was a very beautiful, beautiful ceremony.

Our countries are linked by trade and travel, by history and culture, by faith and family. The United States is home to 36 million incredible Mexican American citizens. Mexican Americans uplift our communities, and they strengthen our churches and enrich every feature of national life. They are hardworking, incredible people. They are also great business men and women, and make up a big percentage of our small-business owners — and very successful. They’re very, very successful. They’re like you: They’re tough negotiators and great business people, Mr. President.

Working alongside President López Obrador, we’re taking this relationship to new heights and building a powerful economic and security partnership. Together, we have addressed many of the most complex issues facing our two countries that really went unresolved for many years — and, frankly, far too long. It should have been resolved long before I got here. But we’re achieving great strides and remarkable breakthroughs in strengthening our relationship for decades to come.

With everything that we have accomplished, the potential for the future of the United States and Mexico is unlimited. Far, far greater situation, really, for both countries than anyone thought possible.

Today we celebrate the historic victory we achieved together just days ago when NAFTA was officially terminated — one of the worst trade deals in history — and replaced with a brand-new, beautiful USMCA.

We want to thank Canada, also. I spoke with and will be speaking to the Prime Minister in a little while.

While NAFTA slashed wages and eliminated jobs, the USMCA includes groundbreaking labor protections for workers in both nations. This landmark agreement will bring countless jobs from overseas, back to North America, and our countries will be very big beneficiaries. We are already seeing the fruits because it started. It’s the largest, fairest, and most advanced trade deal ever reached by any country, and it will bring enormous prosperity to both American and Mexican workers and Canada. We want to thank everybody. We’ll have a separate day with Canada. They’re coming down at the appropriate time. But we want to congratulate Canada and the people of Canada, the Prime Minister.

But this has been a tremendous achievement. It’s actually the largest trade deal ever made. And we made a big one with China too, but this is the largest trade deal ever made.

Our two governments are also in close cooperation to stop the illicit cross-border flow of drugs and guns, cash, and contraband, and very importantly, stopping human trafficking.

We’re forging critical partnerships across the Western Hemisphere to combat the cartels and the smugglers and to ensure safe, humane, and lawful migration. And we’ve been helped greatly by Mexico on creating record numbers, in a positive sense, on our southern border. It’s been really, very, very tight and done a great job.

And I want to thank the Secretary, who’s here. We have a — Chad, you’re here someplace. Where is Chad? What a good job you’re doing, Chad. Great job. We’re proud of you. And you’ve worked very closely with Mexico. I know you were just telling me what a great help they’ve been, right? Thank you very much, Chad.

We’ve also worked closely in the battle against the coronavirus, together saving countless — thousands of lives. It’s been my honor to help Mexico procure 600 ventilators, and it’s going to be a higher number than that. They needed them very badly, and we were able to make them. We’re making thousands a week, and we’re helping a lot of countries. But one of the first, and maybe the first that I spoke to, was Mexico. We have a lot of them in Mexico saving a lot of lives. And, Mr. President, we’re in this fight together, and we’re doing very well.

Just a couple of things on that: I’m proud to further announce that the U.S. is, by far, number one in testing — number one in the world in testing — and that the mortality rate is the lowest, or just about the lowest of any nation anywhere in the world.

And we’re safely reopening our country, and very importantly, we’re safely reopening our schools. We want the schools to be open and going in the fall. And most of them, I think, are looking at it that way. It’s very important. We’re finding out that learning by computer is not as good as learning in the classroom or learning on the campus. And I think you’re finding that too. We want to learn in the classroom. So, our schools — we want them open in the fall.

Following President López Obrador’s remarks, we’ll sign a joint declaration committing ourselves to a shared future of prosperity, security, and harmony. This is truly a proud moment in history for both of our nations, Mexico and the United States.

With this signing, we pledge the close and continued friendship between the United States and Mexico, and we accelerate our progress toward an even greater tomorrow — and that’s what’s happening: a greater, maybe even a far greater tomorrow — with a prospering region, a flourishing hemisphere, and two sovereign nations thriving, growing, and excelling side by side, working together — and that’s what we’ve been doing.

Mr. President, we look forward to hosting you for a beautiful dinner later on this evening with some of your friends from Mexico and some of our great friends from the U.S. And it’s an honor to have you with us.

And, please, we’d love to have you say a few words. Thank you. Thank you very much.

PRESIDENT LÓPEZ OBRADOR: (As interpreted.) Friends, ladies and gentlemen, I truly celebrate this meeting with you, President Trump.

My visit, to a great extent, has to do with the importance right now, in these times of world economic crisis, the importance of the entry into effect of the Mexico-U.S.-Canada Agreement, to make by Spanish acronym, “USMCA.” Having been able to close this deal constitutes a great accomplishment benefitting all three nations and our peoples.

As it is well known, North America is one of the most important economic regions of the planet. However, our region is inexplicably a region of trade deficits. We export to the rest of the world about $3.6 trillion, but we import about $4.2 trillion. That is, we have a deficit of $611 billion, which is translated into capital flight, less opportunities for companies and businesses, and job source losses.

This new agreement seeks to reverse this imbalance through greater integration of our economies and improvements in the functioning of productive chains to recover the economic presence that North America has lost in the last five decades. Suffice it to say that, in 1970, the region constituted 40.4 percent of the world GDP. And now, this share in the global economy has gone down to 27.8 percent.

That’s why this agreement is a great option to produce, create jobs, and foster trade without having to go so far away from our homes, cities, states, and nations. In other words, import volumes of our country’s imports to the rest of the world may be produced in North America at a lower transportation cost with reliable suppliers — reliable vis-à-vis the companies, of course — and the utilization of regional labor force…

Of course, it’s not a matter of closing our countries to the world. It’s a matter of taking advantage of all the advantages that we have because we’re neighbors, as well as the enforcement of a good policy of cooperation for development.

This agreement allows us to attract investments from other places of the hemisphere, bringing those investments to our countries, provided we comply, we honor the principles of reducing merchandises with high regional content, and also trying to have salary and labor conditions that are fair conditions for our workers of the exporting or importing countries of consumption goods.

It’s also important to point out that this agreement signifies the integration of all three countries, because we’re all contributing with productive capacity, markets, technology, experience, expertise, highly skilled labor force, and we end up complementing each other. For instance, Mexico has something which is extremely valuable to make this economic integration effective and to boost this integration — economic and commercial integration — in the region. I’m talking about this very young, creative, and responsible labor force.

Let us not forget that the participation of workers in productive processes is just as important as the role of businesses and companies. It really would be not good for us to have capital and technology if we don’t have good workers that are outstanding workers because of their imagination, their talent, and their mystique when they do their work.

On the other hand, with this type of agreement — and respecting our sovereign states — instead of distancing ourselves, we are deciding, we’re opting to walk together towards the future. We want to privilege understanding. That’s why we’re united. And we’re setting aside differences, or we are solving those differences through a dialogue and mutual respect.

Certainly, in the history of our relations, we’ve had perhaps moments in which our minds have not been together. And there are — there have been problems that are not yet forgotten. However, we’ve been able to establish explicit agreements of cooperation and coexistence. For instance, in the ‘40s of last century, during the Second World War, Mexico helped meet the needs of the United States in terms of the raw materials needed by the United States, and it gave its support with the labor of migrant workers that were known as the braceros.

Since then, and until now, we’ve been consolidating our economic-commercial trade relationship, as well as our very — very peculiar coexistence, cohabitation, sometimes as distant neighbors and other times as very affectionate and close friends.

And it is also a well-known history of geopolitics, this neighborhood we have and economic circumstances of both of our nations have promoted, in a very natural manner, a process of migration of Mexican men and women coming here to the United States. And here we’ve been able to create a community of about 38 million people, including the children of Mexican parents. It is a community of good, working people — good people, working people who have come here to make a living in a very honest fashion. And they have so much contributed to the development of this great nation.

Furthermore, in Mexico, more than in any other country of the world, we have in our society a million and a half of U.S. citizens. They live there, and they’re part of our society. So we’re not just united by geographic proximity; we have economic commercial, social, cultural, and ties of friendship, President Trump.

As in the best times of our political relationship, during my mandate as President of Mexico, is that of remembering this insults and things like that from — against me. We have received from you, President Trump, understanding and respect. People — some people thought that our ideological differences would inevitably lead to confrontations. Fortunately, this has not been the case. And I believe that, towards the future, there will be no motive or need to break our very good political relationship or the friendship between our two administrations.

The best president Mexico has ever had, Benito Juárez García, as you have mentioned, had a good understanding with the great Republican President, Abraham Lincoln. Let us remember that this great, historic leader of the United States, who was the promoter of the abolition of slavery, never recognized Emperor Maximilian imposed in Mexico through the intervention of the powerful French army.

It is no coincidence that Juárez lamented Lincoln’s murder in the United States, saying, I quote, “I have deeply felt this disgrace because Lincoln, who was constantly working in such a determined manner for the complete freedom of its fellow men, was worthy of a better fortune or luck.” End of quote.

The same thing happened with the splendid relationship that Democrat President Franklin Delano Roosevelt had with our patriot president, General Lázaro Cárdenas. The same situation took place. And after the oil expropriation, in a letter, General Cárdenas recognized the good understanding — the good bilateral understanding as follows: He said, “My administration believes that the attitude of the United States of America, in the case of the oil company expropriation, reasserts once more the sovereignty of the peoples of this continent that with so much efforts have been maintaining the situation and the position of his Excellency, Mr. President Roosevelt.” End of quote.

So with all proportions and all the circumstances, with different circumstances, history tells us that it is possible to understand each other without arrogance or extremisms.

Now that I have decided to come to this meeting with you, President Trump, we had a good debate in my country on the convenience of this trip. I decided to come because, as I have already expressed, it is very important for us to be launching this new agreement.

But I also wanted to be here to thank people of the United States, its government, and thank you, President Trump for being increasingly respectful with our Mexican fellow men.

And to you, President Trump, I want to thank you for your understanding and the help you’ve given us in issues related to trade, commerce, oil, as well as your personal support for the acquisition of medical equipment that we needed urgently to treat our patients of COVID-19.

But what I mainly appreciate is that you have never sought to impose anything on us violating our sovereignty. Instead of the Monroe Doctrine, you have followed, in our case, the wise advice of the lustrous and prudent President George Washington who said, quote, “Nations should not take advantage of the unfortunate condition of other peoples.” End of quote.

You have not tried to treat us as a colony; on the contrary, you have honored our condition as an independent nation. That’s why I’m here to express to the people of the United States that their President has behaved with us with kindness and respect. You have treated us just as what we are: a country and a dignified people; a free, democratic, and sovereign people.

Long live the friendship of our two nations. Long live the United States of America. Long live Canada. Long live our America. Long live Mexico. Long live Mexico. Viva México. (Applause.)

(The joint declaration is signed.)
