Where to Go?

Armstrong Economics Blog/Forecasts Re-Posted Mar 14, 2023 by Martin Armstrong

A lot of people have been asking where to go, what bank is safe, and what’s next? This is by no means over. The fiscal mismanagement is off the charts and we have a major clash with the Marxist views of the Democrats who always want to punish the rich and then ask them for funding. Only in the Democratic Party can you have a $ 10,000-a-plate fundraiser and preach how evil inequality is and that the rich must be held accountable.

Those who keep calling for a gold standard are clueless. To have a return to balanced budgets means that the Democrats will have to completely reform. They DO NOT know how to govern without class warfare. Politics has deeply divided the United States to the point that the only reasonable solution will be to separate between the blue v red. As Lincon said, a house divided cannot stand. That is becoming so obvious that there will come a day soon when that will be the case. There are over 30 civilizations that have come before us. Every single one has collapsed. We are merely waiting for our 15 minutes in the spotlight.

We must understand that things are far worse outside the United States geopolitically thanks to the Neocons who have done nothing by conniving endless wars. They are ruthless evil people who have no problem sacrificing your family for their political aspirations. Short term, as they create World War III, the dollar will be the strongest currency as capital always flees from a conflict. We really need to IMPEACH Biden, because he is a dangerous puppet who reads whatever the Neocons write on the cue cards. Then we really need to launch an investigation of these Neocons who have usurped US foreign policy for decades and are never held accountable.

Now, many people have asked what is a small bank. They are typically local regional banks. The problem is if they just make decisions based on the talking heads on TV, then they will face tremendous problems ahead. To be diverse, for now into 2024, you may want to look at US T-bills 30-day to the 90-day max. Not every bank is in trouble. You should ask if they publish their portfolio. The big risk is that money was basically free, and they were investing that long-term. But as rates have risen, they have suffered losses.

The Myth of Fair Value

Armstrong Economics Blog/Understanding Cycles Re-Posted Mar 13, 2023 by Martin Armstrong

QUESTION: If the metals are not trading at a fair value relative to everything else, then does that not prove they are manipulated?

SN

ANSWER: Your problem is the assumption that everything must be trading at some fair value. That is up there with the theory of random walks.  ALL markets trade for periods where they remain well below fair value. That was the entire takeover boom of the 1980s which they also blamed on me because I was advising many of the takeover players. I simply showed these charts back then which show in terms of book value, the Dow Jones bottomed in 1977. The market was grossly undervalued because you could buy a company, sell all its tangible assets, and double or triple your money. Michael Douglas’ famous speech in that movie about “greed” would not even be possible if everything always trade like some mythical robot at fair value. Everything overshoots and undershoots.

The metals are NO DIFFERENT. Every market swings between grossly UNDERVALUED and then grossly OVERVALUED. This is part of the business cycle. If there were no periods of gross undervaluations, there would not be a sudden boom either.

This is what you have to come to grips with. There is such a thing and the business cycle. Our cyclical analysis would not be possible if everything was trading at a flat line of fair value. This nonsense in metals is made up of people who have been wrong, and need to blame someone else. It is like blaming climate cycles on CO2. This notion of fair value is rooted, I hate to tell you, in Marxism, because he too did not understand  the business cycle.

When the House Votes Unanimously…

Armstrong Economics Blog/Conspiracy re-Posted Mar 13, 2023 by Martin Armstrong

When the House votes unanimously, there is usually a larger issue at play. It was announced on Friday that the US House of Representatives and the Senate unanimously agreed to declassify information regarding the origins of COVID. Let us recall that one side of the political spectrum effectively shut down the entire economy and used the people as puppets to push forth their COVID agenda of vaccinations and lockdowns. When the House votes unanimously, one must look closer at the agenda on the macro level.

The decision to declassify the origins of COVID will likely not lead to the arrest of Fauci, Gates, Soros, or any of the other big players who advised on policies that directly harmed the people and economy. The pharmaceutical companies will not be charged for injecting countless people with an experimental substance, and the powers who enforced vaccine mandates will be blameless. Again, one side of the political spectrum supported the harshest COVID laws imaginable, and revealing the truth behind the virus would be detrimental to their party. So why the unanimous vote?

When the house votes unanimously, there is a common enemy. It is no secret that the US is instigating China to enter World War III. As I mentioned in a separate post, Western intelligence agencies are threatening China for conspiring to supply Moscow with aid, despite having no known leads. China is attempting to remain neutral, but anti-Chinese sentiment is subtly rising in the mainstream media. It was almost illegal to say that the virus was deliberately leaked from a lab in Wuhan. Trump was called a racist for calling COVID “the China virus,” and anyone who mentioned a lab leak on social media was immediately deplatformed.

However, the need for a common enemy has arrived as the US economy is in shambles and confidence in government continues to plummet. The propaganda emerging is that China is solely to blame for the coronavirus. The loss of life and business is due to China. Any issue you may have faced due to the coronavirus or consequential mandates is solely due to China. Avert your attention from your own government’s misdoings and blame the common enemy.

Christopher Wray of the FBI told Fox News that his agency is aware of “a potential leak from a Chinese government-controlled lab.” If a civilian said this one year ago, they would have been called a conspiracy theorist. “I will just make the observation that the Chinese government, it seems to me, has been doing its best to try to thwart and obfuscate the work here, the work that we’re doing, the work that our U.S. government and close foreign partners are doing. And that’s unfortunate for everybody,” Wray said. White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan claims that uncovering the source of the leak is a top priority for President Biden, who had no interest in this previously.

Justice will not be served. The government can no longer use COVID as a power grab, but it can use COVID to demonize its opponent and push China into war.

The West Threatens China for Conspiring with Moscow

Armstrong Economics Blog/War Re-Posted Mar 13, 2023 by Martin Armstrong

China has maintained neutrality throughout the 13-month conflict between Russia and Ukraine/the West. Yet, Western powers continue to threaten China and allege they are conspiring to send aid to Russia. The heightened attacks on China make one question if Western powers are deliberately instigating a fight. CIA Director William Burns said he is “confident” China is CONSPIRING to send military aid to Russia, although there is no evidence of “actual shipments of lethal equipment.”

White House National Security Advisor and Neocon Jake Sullivan has had harsh words for China in recent appearances. Sullivan boldly stated that aiding Russia would be “a bad mistake” for China, and that the US plans to send China “a strong message.” Again, China has done nothing wrong. There is no evidence of China supplying aid to Russia, and even if they did, that is not a crime, as Ukraine is not a NATO member.

(Imagine above: William Burns, right, at the Kremlin in 2005 with Russian President Vladimir Putin, center, whom he describes as 'an apostle of payback' © Reuters)

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning told the US that China would not heed to coercion. “On the Ukraine issue, China has been actively promoting peace talks and promoting the political settlement of the crisis. The US is in no position to point fingers at China-Russia relations. We do not accept coercion or pressure from the US,” Mao said. China will not support the West’s proxy war with Russia, but it seems that they are insisting China proves its innocence by ostracizing Russia.

Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang expressed outrage over sanctions placed on China for merely conspiring (i.e., no crime was committed) with Moscow. “[China] has not provided weapons to either side of the conflict. Why on earth are there blame and sanctions on China? This is absolutely unacceptable,” Qin said. “There seems to be an invisible hand pushing for the protraction and escalation of the conflict. Ukraine crisis is a tragedy that could have been avoided.”

This conflict could have been completely avoided had the Minsk Agreements been based on good faith. The war is a deliberate plot to usher in a new world order to eliminate energy-rich Russia from the global economy. The Kiel Institute for the World Economy in Germany estimated that $152.7 billion was provided to Ukraine as of January 15. The US has sent more aid than any other country but accuses its top trading partner of flaming the fires of international war. This is why there are no true diplomatic discussions with the current failing crop of politicians. The current agenda is to demonize Beijing as they did with Moscow to force it out of neutrality.

Mike Pence Blames President Trump for Events at Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021, “his reckless words endangered my family … history will hold Donald Trump accountable”

Posted originally on the CTH on March 12, 2023 | Sundance

Speaking at the Gridiron Dinner in Washington DC yesterday, former Vice President Mike Pence directly blamed President Trump for the events in Washington DC on January 6, 2021, saying:

“President Trump was wrong; I had no right to overturn the election. And his reckless words endangered my family and everyone at the Capitol that day, and I know history will hold Donald Trump accountable.”  ~ Mike Pence

Be of good cheer.  Despite the main takeaway being pushed by mainstream media, these remarks strike me as good news.

These remarks indicate to me that the professional Republican control officers are growing increasingly desperate as President Trump continues to command the new Republican Party.  If Ron DeSantis was making ground, the professional Republican class would not be as desperate as these remarks convey.  All of their collective GOPe effort isn’t working…. they are starting to reach for the kitchen sink.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Former Vice President Mike Pence on Saturday harshly criticized former President Donald Trump for his role in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, widening the rift between the two men as they prepare to battle over the Republican nomination in next year’s election.

“President Trump was wrong,” Pence said during remarks at the annual white-tie Gridiron Dinner attended by politicians and journalists. “I had no right to overturn the election. And his reckless words endangered my family and everyone at the Capitol that day, and I know history will hold Donald Trump accountable.”

Pence’s remarks were the sharpest condemnation yet from the once-loyal lieutenant who has often shied away from confronting his former boss. Trump has already declared his candidacy. Pence has not, but he’s been laying the groundwork to run.

[…] With his remarks, Pence solidified his place in a broader debate within the Republican Party over how to view the attack. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, for example, recently provided Tucker Carlson with an archive of security camera footage from Jan. 6, which the Fox News host has used to downplay the day’s events and promote conspiracy theories.

“Make no mistake about it, what happened that day was a disgrace,” Pence said in his Gridiron Dinner remarks. “And it mocks decency to portray it any other way.” (read more)

Ukrainian Military Dissent Against Zelensky

Armstrong Economics Blog/Uncategorized Re-Posted Mar 8, 2023 by Martin Armstrong

Our sources in Ukraine, not Russia, are warning of serious dissent building against Zelensky. He is a high-heel actor who has been playing a confidence game. He is by no means a military leader and the Ukrainian Military is at its ends with him. The Ukrainian General Valery Zaluzhny, is having a serious conflict with Zelensky. Even others have come out and commented to the German newspaper, the Bild, that the General called for a withdrawal from the Donbas city weeks ago, but Zelensky orders his men to die all for his endless PR campaign to pretend that Ukraine is winning.

The General told Zelensky to withdraw from Bakhmut. But Zelensky pretends for PR that it is a fortress despite the fact that it has been cut off and completely;y surrounded with only one road available for possible evacuation and Zelensky refuses to withdraw. Even the Biden Administration has been urging Zelensky to pull out and focus on preparing a major counteroffensive for the spring. Yet, Zelensky fears admitting publicly a defeat that would hurt the billions flowing into Ukraine. This was part of the Ukrainian defense line that they created when Kiev began its invasion of the Donbas in 2014 on their claimed Anti-Terrorist offensive to kill all Russians and deny them any right to separate seeking their independence in the 2014 Revolution.

Even those speaking to the Bild expressed deep concern that they “do not understand why the city is being held” and believe they should have withdrawn a long time ago. Zelensky proclaims that his Ukrainian forces would defend Bakhmut as long as it “remains reasonable” to do so.

Our sources are clearly saying that Zelensky is losing support and if anyone will becomes the next President it will be General Zaluzhny.

Can Congress Grant Immunity to Pfizer

Armstrong Economics Blog/Rule of Law Re-Posted Mar 6, 2023 by Martin Armstrong

Any immunity that Congress has pretended to give Pfizer, is highly questionable if it is not in violation of the Seventh Amendment stopping people from their right to claims against Pfizer et al.  Even looking at the PREP Act Immunity from Liability for COVID-19 Vaccinators, it cannot afford immunity for willful misconduct.  What we are dealing with is a statutory grant of immunity to Pfizer and others to create vaccines with immunity.

42 U.S. Code § 300aa–22,

“No vaccine manufacturer shall be liable in a civil action for damages arising from a vaccine-related injury or death associated with the administration of a vaccine after October 1, 1988, if the injury or death resulted from side effects that were unavoidable even though the vaccine was properly prepared and was accompanied by proper directions and warnings.”

The 7th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was intended to protect the right of every American citizen to a trial by a jury of his peers in a civil court case. The writers’ objective in drafting this amendment as an addition to the Bill of Rights was to ensure that the government would not eliminate the practice of trial by jury. The major concern here was that, if trials were decided solely by judges, the judges would, more often than not, side with the government. This would, in turn, give the government too much power. To explore this concept, consider the following 7th Amendment definition.

There was a federal appeals court that declined to grant an injunction against Indiana University’s vaccine mandate after it was challenged in a lawsuit by students who said it violates their constitutional rights. That was a separate question from what I am raising here.  The Indiana case dealt with only the constitutionality of vaccination mandates. That did not address whether or not the vaccines were ever properly tested and were in fact causing harm.

We must separate the legal argument for the objection to the mandates were all based on individual rights as in the abortion rhetoric, it’s my body, my decision. The government can generally regulate its own employees, or those it even funds with Medicaid/Medicare. Hence, that raised the issue of people with valid religious or medical objections. All of that still proceeded upon the basic assumption that the vaccines were legal and caused no harm.

The Biden Administration virtually conceded that it did not have the constitutional authority to force every American to take the COVID-19 vaccine. Still, the Biden Administration tried to circumvent that constitutional limitation by having the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), which regulates within the U.S. Labor Department workplace safety, rather than public health. OSHA’s emergency order required all employers with 100 or more employees to demand that their employees either be fully vaccinated or get a COVID-19 test at least once a week.

There is another issue that surfaced with COVID and that was that Biden had agencies issuing unconstitutional orders without authority from Congress. The Centers for Disease Control issued a prohibition against tenant evictions. That demonstrated that the Biden Administration was acting in a tyrannical manner circumventing both the Constitution and Congress. The eviction decree made it to the Supreme Court which held such a decree could only be issued with Congressional legislative action. When Congress refused, the Biden administration just ignored the Supreme Court anyhow. Then on Aug. 26, 2001, the Supreme Court in a Per Curiam decision (whole court), the Court struck down the Biden eviction moratorium. This is dealing with Biden’s abuse of executive orders ignoring Congress and the Supreme Court. That was really tyrannical. Hence, his vaccine mandate raises the very same question of Congress’ delegation of authority to administrative agencies that never granted such authority and Biden’s unconstitutional circumventing of Congress.

My question remains different If the 7th Amendment was to prevent judges who would always rule in favor of the government, then can Congress pass any statute that grants immunity to Pfizer when there is an exception even to Qualified Immunity of government agents when they act deliberately? If a Prosecutor can be charged when he DELIBERATELY violates your Constitutional Rights, then so can everyone at Pfizer!

Get at it, Lawyers! Do what you were intended to do when you took your oath.

Biden Administration Controls Britain & the EU

Armstrong Economics Blog/Ukraine re-Posted Mar 6, 2023 by Martin Armstrong

The Biden Administration is control the EU and Britain. They cannot independently expand the supply of arms to Ukraine, since the main decisions in this regard are still being made in Washington, as the former British Foreign Secretary William Hague has admitted. The Biden Administration has been completely usurped by the Neocons. They are writing the cue cards. This came out in discussions in Russia. Hague has been a cheerleader for this war against Russia. He too should be questioned with regard to the behind-the-curtain shenanigans to create World War III.

Ron DeSantis and Mike Pence Will Skip CPAC 2023

Posted originally on the CTH on February 27, 2023 | Sundance

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former Vice President Mike Pence will be skipping CPAC 2023 this year as President Donald Trump delivers the keynote speech.

DeSantis and Pence will avoid the uncomfortable results of the grassroots straw poll outcome, which – given the nature of their political interests – could potentially be embarrassing for the people who are organizing their ‘stop Trump’ campaign.

(Jax4) – CPAC, which is billed as the largest and most influential gathering of conservatives in the world, begins Wednesday.

Governor Ron DeSantis, who spoke at the event last year has other plans, and former vice president Mike Pence has turned down an invitation. (more)

After spending the weekend with billionaire donors and republicans molded purchased by the Sea Island (Big Club) influence, DeSantis will be traveling the country promoting his Rupert Murdoch funded book with stops in Texas and California.  The governor is also expected in Iowa, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Georgia, according to Jacksonville News4.

The Florida governor will finish the week back in his home state as The Club for Growth is hosting DeSantis and a half-dozen presidential prospects at a closed-door retreat next weekend with GOPe top donors {Link}.  Donald Trump is not invited. The meeting, organized by the multinational corporate interests of CfG, is about how to coordinate multiple candidate efforts to defeat Trump.

Additionally, details are surfacing of additional attendees at last weekend’s ritzy “influencers” event at the Four Seasons Resort in Palm Beach, hosted by DeSantis handler Christina Pushaw.  According to news reports in addition to the previously recruited social media group, Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter and Chaya Raichik (Libs of TikTok) were in attendance doing panel discussions. {link}
