The Great Divide

Armstrong Economics Blog/Great Reset Re-Posted Aug 20, 2021 by Martin Armstrong

The entire COVID agenda has been a pre-staged event; the real agenda has been climate change. Al Gore, who is on the board of the World Economic Forum, ushered in Green Peace’s Jennifer Morgan, who escorted Greta to the Davos meeting to appear in Schwab’s film the Forum, which was intended to push the climate change agenda.

After exploiting Greta, who simply read from prewritten speeches that Morgan probably wrote, their agenda was not catching fire. People were not willing to alter their lives for a problem that was decades from now. They needed something more terrorizing, and that was COVID. They had to threaten people’s lives immediately, not decades in the future.

When we look at Google the news, we do not all get the same results. Big Tech is deliberately not just censoring the news, but they are strategically showing people ONLY what they should read and blocking stories that may be to the contrary. As Julius Caesar once said: people believe what they want to believe. This is dividing the world and causing one side to look at the other side as flaming conspiracy theorists because they are fed different stories that hide the opposition. The AI models being used are feeding people only news that the powers above want them to see. Those who see through the truth are then faced with immediate censorship and banning from mainstream platforms – the cancel culture.

Big Tech is dividing the United States and the entire world. This will only lead to civil wars. Ironically, we will see the US split North v South over the issue of slavery again, but this time the slave owners will be those in government taking orders from the WEF consortium on how to manage the Great Unwashed to further their agenda of the Great Reset.

Conflict in Laws Jacobson violates Human Right to Consent

Armstrong Economics Blog/Rule of Law Re-Posted Aug 21, 2021 by Martin Armstrong

A lot of people have written in to ask if I would explain my position on the legal outcome of forced vaccines. I will try to be a bit more detailed. I see this as a conflict in law at the Supreme Court and how do we argue against Vaccine Passports. It is true that in the case of smallpox, the court ruled that they could force vaccinations of people in the 1905 case of Jacobson v Massachusetts. Smallpox was UNIQUE to humans and creating a vaccine could eradicate it since it did not simultaneously exist in animals. To this day, the origin of smallpox remains a mystery.

We should look at this not as a vaccine but as a medical treatment. If you look at the CDC, they are clearly on this agenda of terrorizing the public and they take money from Gates. The CDC no longer tracks the flu deaths which they have done for decades. They suddenly merged flu and ammonia with COVID because they cannot actually tell the difference in many cases. The flu epidemic has been cured by COVID and the CDC should be subpoena and the person who made this decision should be deposed.

Now for the conflict in law. In Union Pacific Railway Co. v. Botsford, 141 U.S. 250 (1891) an employee was injured claiming a concussion. The company wanted to subject the employee to a medical examination. The Supreme Court denied the company on the grounds that an individual has a basic right to deny medical treatment. They wrote:

“No right is held more sacred or is more carefully guarded by the common law than the right of every individual to the possession and control of his own person, free from all restraint or interference of others unless by clear and unquestionable authority of law. As well said by Judge Cooley: “The right to one’s person may be said to be a right of complete immunity; to be let alone.” Cooley on Torts 29.”

“Every human being of adult years and sound mind has a right to determine what shall be done with his own body, and a surgeon who performs an operation without his patient’s consent commits an assault, for which he is liable in damages.”

Now, when you go to a doctor, they make you sign a CONSENT form for the medical procedure. We have a right to our own bodies which is in direct CONFLICT with Jacobson. The right to refuse medical treatment is obvious part of the legal requirement that a doctor must have the patient CONSENT. In Cruzan v. Director, Missouri Dept. of Health, 497 U.S. 261 (1990)

The logical corollary of the doctrine of informed consent is that the patient generally possesses the right not to consent, that is, to refuse treatment. Until about 15 years ago and the seminal decision in In re Quinlan, 70 N.J. 10, 355 A.2d 647, cert. denied sub nom. Garger v. New Jersey, 429 U.S. 922 (1976), the number of right-to-refuse-treatment decisions were relatively few. [Footnote 2] Most of the earlier cases involved patients who refused medical treatment forbidden by their religious beliefs, thus implicating First Amendment rights as well as common law rights of self-determination. [Footnote 3] More recently, however, with the advance of medical technology capable of sustaining life well past the point where natural forces would have brought certain death in earlier times, cases involving the right to refuse life-sustaining treatment have burgeoned. See 760 S.W.2d at 412, n. 4 (collecting 54 reported decisions from 1976-1988).

Therefore, it is my OPINION that we have a conflict in law where Jacobson may be what everyone is focusing on because it held you could be forced to take a vaccine, whereas this flies in the face of the established requirement for obtaining CONSENT from a patient to any medical procedure.

As I have said, I am willing to help any lawyer who wants to save the nation from this insanity. If they can force a vaccine to supersede the First Amendment Right to freedom to assembly, then the First Amendment has been repealed. We all know where that will lead and they can create anything and call it a vaccine that is entirely experimental and wipe out the ability to even have children. There is no accountability and we MUST retain our human right to REFUSE any medical procedure.

The Biden Administration is a Joke

Armstrong Economics Blog/Politics Re-Posted Aug 24, 2021 by Martin Armstrong

The Biden Administration is a complete disaster. As I have said, the Deep State got everything they ever dreamed of — the freedom to do as they like with no president in charge. But there is no position within the Deep State to which any of these agencies need to answer. Therein lies the problem.

The Taliban are religious fanatics. They will NEVER live in harmony with other religions because even on the surface, they do not allow women to be educated, which means no other religious belief will ever be tolerated. This is not much different from the Marxists. They too do not believe in capitalism and demand to regulate what everyone else does. Like the Taliban, the Marxists also cannot sleep at night, as they stay up worrying that someone else may not be doing what they approve.

Both groups are NEVER tolerant of others because they see their own world as threatened by anyone who does not comply. Hence, the Marxists killed probably 200+ million during the Communist revolutions in Russia and China, and they will kill many more this time around thanks to the World Economic Forum that is pushing the same agenda with nice words and empty promises. The Taliban has begun their genocide and will exterminate all who refuse to adopt their view of religion. Their genocide has begun.

The heart-breaking images from Afghanistan show that America does NOT keep its promises. Here is a desperate plea to save their child’s life as a parent hands their infant to a soldier in hopes that they will have a better life.

Anyone who has met Biden can see he is far from being a brilliant leader. There is no light on behind those eyes. Even Osama bin Laden knew that about Biden. Bin Laden previously warned Al Qaeda NOT to target Joe Biden, as the NY Post reports, because he believed that his inheriting the presidency if something were to happen to Barack Obama would “lead the US into a crisis,” a resurfaced letter shows. Of all the people I know, all have a similar opinion that Biden is not a leader and that is not said on a partisan basis. Even Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin openly contradicted Biden within 30 minutes, telling Congress that Americans were beaten by the Taliban.

USA Today reported that the gates at the airport in Kabul were closed. The US Embassy in Kabul warned Americans on Saturday not to travel to the airport without “individual instructions from a US government representative,” because of potential security threats outside the gates. Britain is stunned by Biden’s stupid and “hasty” withdrawal from Afghanistan that has left perhaps more than 20,000 Americans and foreigners trapped in a nation spiraling into civil war. First, Biden said it was 10,000 Americans, which was then revised to 15,000. The sheer incompetency of Biden’s decision will go down in history as the worst probably of any president since 1792.

Yes, two-thirds of Americans wanted out of the war — but not like this. Biden simply looked at the poll and assumed he would be cheered. He told the nation: “I stand squarely behind my decision.” He tried to claim it was Trump’s decision, but Biden has reversed everything Trump decided he could get his hands on. Trump would never have left the country in such a mess with over 20,000 people left behind.

As the news kept getting worse, Biden fled Washington, taking no questions, and ran off to Camp David in hiding. Kamala Harris has remained silent, and sources in Washington are actually talking about impeaching Biden and Harris, but then it would fall to Pelosi. The pessimism in DC is like cancer growing, eating the support for the Biden Administration from within. It is becoming painfully obvious that Biden is incapable of making rational decisions. That is grounds for impeachment. Nobody seems to know what to do from here. Osama bin Laden was correct — Biden would lead the country into chaos. Indeed, now is the time to attack during his watch.

It would be nice if we could write the history of the United States and just end it with Trump’s loss. It is kind of like turning off the TV so the kids don’t watch Old Yeller die in the end. Indeed, even stories with happy endings are sad because they end. Perhaps we have reached that point in history.

COVID & the Trojan Horse

Armstrong Economics Blog/Tyranny Re-Posted Aug 16, 2021 by Martin Armstrong

Depiction of the story of the Trojan horse in the art of Gandhara. British Museum.

Sometimes, there is a tendency in any group to believe that they are smarter than those outside their group. This is not confined to any particular group. The classic example was that in archeology. The academics swore that Homer was fantasy being stories for children. There never was Troy or a horse. But that all was proven wrong when Heinrich Schliemann (1822 – 1890), who was a German businessman, discovered everything the academics said did not exist. Even sculptures have been discovered showing the Trojan Horse. Schliemann believed in Homer’s Iliad and Virgil’s Aeneid’s historical accuracy and told stories that reflected actual historical events. Today, they would have called it a conspiracy theory not worthy of investigation.

The academics led by Klaus Schwab have once again created a fictional world in their mind and have convinced others that we must destroy everything and rebuild the world to function the way they think it should operate. The problem is the small detail that the world economy is like a complex rainforest. There are countless interconnected species, so you eliminate one, and it ripples through the entire rainforest. This is what they do not understand about the economy. It is Smith’s Invisible Hand that everyone acting in their own self-interest creates a society that functions.

People like Schwab look down upon us the great unwashed and believe they are God because they do not believe in God and assume they can not only create a new economy, they can create biological improvements perhaps in their own desperate attempt to find immortality.

I cannot stress enough that these people I have warned who have been part of the “Club” do not believe in God. They have no regard for humanity. It has always been hard for me to get my head around such arrogance. While they do not believe in God, they also seem to think that they are immortal and infallible.

Despite such an all-out effort to force people to get vaccinated or you lose your job and cannot travel seems to be more for control just as in the Communist world. You were not allowed to move from one place to another without permission. I saw this with my own eyes when I went behind the Berlin Wall.  Besides the vaccines not working with the Israeli government reporting that the Pfizer vaccine is only 39% effective, the real issue here is to stop the freedom of movement to establish a new form of government that is a new totalitarian state. Even the common cold has been found to help fight COVID because it is also a respiratory virus. We have censorship gone mad. Facebook banned a gardening forum because they discussed which “hoe” is better and interpreted that as prostitute slang.

COVID seems to be the modern version of the Trojan Horse. They roll it into society and we think they care about us and then you wake up and realize these people only seek control and care nothing about humanity nor do they believe in God.

Food Shortages Continue

Armstrong Economics Blog/Agriculture Re-Posted Aug 16, 2021 by Martin Armstrong

Food shortages are again starting to appear. But the new round of restrictions because of COVID variants is sending the world into an economic tailspin. Even in Thailand, the food lines are massive as the new restrictions because of COVID have led to the failure of small businesses and the inability of people to work to earn any money for food. In the name of “health”, they have terrorized the world and are accomplishing their goal of collapsing free markets and capitalism.

We are the great unwashed – expendable and the sooner the herd is thinned, the sooner they will save the planet. Capitalism is under assault like never before. How many people died frightening to preserve our freedoms. My family has fought in every war since the American Revolution. They should just dig up all the graves at Arlington and turn them into fertilizer for they have no respect for what people died for.

Not even the media is willing to defend our way of life no less than of their own families.

Trudeau Calls for September 20 Election Right on Time

Armstrong Economics Blog/Canada RePosted Aug 15, 2021 by Martin Armstrong

The word on the street is those who have organized this entire pandemic for political change are getting nervous about the size of the resistance that is emerging. They think that the time is right now to score a victory BEFORE the people figure out that COVID will not be defeated and 100% vaccination will not prevent this pandemic from becoming an EPIDEMIC. This lab rat is mutating faster than they ever expected. It is a CORONAVIRUS that has never been cured in any forum because it is a respiratory virus that can also infect animals. Therefore, we will NEVER achieve herd immunity and the latest variations in South America are already vaccine-resistant. By the time we see 2022, this manmade virus may become the disease our computer has been projecting for these past years.

September we warned was the start of a Dark Period. There were critical elections going to take place and now Trudeau has committed Canada to a sudden election on September 20th. Trudeau has been ahead in the polls and he hopes to with a 33% stake which is in the same neighborhood as the number that cited for Hitler. In a Parliamentary system with multiple parties, someone with just 31% can take the country. In the case of Hitler, that 31% led to World War II. So here we will add CANADA to the September election nightmare for the 20th. Nevertheless, as you can see, the Liberal Party of Canada has been declining for 72 years. Indeed, 2021 is an important year for Canada.

Consumer Spending Unexpectedly Collapses in July as Essential Purchases Become Primary Focus of Working Class, Inflation is The Underlying Problem and It Will Get Worse

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on August 17, 2021 | Sundance | 228 Comments

The U.S. Census Department releases retail sales data today showing a strong contraction in consumer spending for July [MSM LINK].  The out-of-touch financial pundits were looking for a 0.3% decline; however, the drop was four times greater with a contraction of 1.1% in spending.

“The slide in retail sales comes after Friday’s preliminary consumer sentiment report from the University of Michigan showed one of the largest drops on record, leading some strategists and economists to warn of downside risk to the sales data.” (link)

This should not be unexpected for those who read here.  Massive price inflation on essential goods is eating up wages.  Food, fuel and energy price increases are changing consumer spending habits.  Non-essential purchases have stopped….. they haven’t slowed, they have stopped. ←Emphasize this because it is not showing up yet in the data lag.

The data reflects that auto sales were the primary contributor to the decline in spending (-4.3%).  This should make sense to people because auto purchases are the largest general consumer purchase outside of home purchasing.

When purchase decisions are made by families; and food and fuel prices are skyrocketing; replacing a vehicle is not essential.  Auto sales are a key indicator of consumer confidence and income.

Overall inflation is the primary driver.  Real wages are declining (wages – inflation), and disposable income is dropping quickly.  Americans need to start talking very deliberately about what is about to happen.  CTH predicted this and has been walking through the visible outcomes as each set of new data surfaces {SEARCH BOX}.  Nothing happening right now is unforeseen or not easily understandable.

There is a cascading effect that happens within the economy.  Income shrinks, then spending shrinks, then employment shrinks and work hours reduce.  It is an unavoidable outcome inside the middle-class economy.

Two-thirds of our national economy (GDP) is dependent on middle-class consumer spending.  Any impact to that spending cornerstone triggers downstream consequences. Large ticket items (like cars) are the first to drop. [Car sales have declined 10.4% from their peak in April.]  Luxury goods in general come next.

Wage-earners, families around the table, husbands and wives, start making decisions on finances based on income outlays.  The roof over your head is the priority; then comes food, and the prices are rising;  then gasoline, and again rising prices; finally facilitating expenses for work and school.

I said in June, at a macro level home prices had reached their peak (last two weeks of May, first two weeks of June was apex).  Obviously, there are some geographic home value increases still happening as COVID related regional issues and work opportunities are shifting populations.  There is also a lag and ripple effect that takes time to work through the economy.  The macro-apex will not be visible until next year.

People go where the work is, and the work is in the freedom zones (red states/regions).  Population shifts keep some area home prices increasing.  However, on a national macro-level the apex has been reached.  People cannot afford higher mortgage payments and simultaneously deal with massive inflation on essential purchases.

Economic pressure works to the benefit of the command and control authority who wish to force vaccinations upon people.  The fear of losing a job becomes more of an issue for people when income security is threatened and they see food prices rising so quickly.  It is unnerving, unsettling and for paycheck-to-paycheck families extremely stressful.  This creates leverage for corporations to require vaccinations for employment.  I wish I had the answers; alas, I do not.

Bottom line is…  Depending on your personal situation,  prepare yourself now for prices to continue rising on both consumable and durable goods.  In the longer term, specifically due to a lack of purchasing, durable good prices will level and eventually drop.  Less people buying stuff makes prices drop as competition triggers and businesses selling durable goods look to survive.  Unfortunately at that point we are usually headed to a recession.

The downside for a drop in durable good purchasing is the workforce behind the manufacturing, distribution and sale of those goods are at risk of losing employment.  Again, a natural outcome.  For the auto-industry, and heavy industrial manufacturing, this is the time of year when retooling is taking place and some manufacturing and production lines are closed.  However, when they return to production those companies might be shocked to find fewer purchase orders for the goods they produce.

Employment is currently stable (especially in the freedom zones); but we should watch for continued signs of consumer spending contraction.  Any employment contraction will be made worse by the millions of illegal aliens now purposefully permitted to enter our nation.

Keep in mind, the Federal Government is pumping money into their command and control economy.  This short-sighted (I would say purposeful and ideological) monetary and economic policy is contributing to massive inflation.

Inflation puts pressure on incomes and savings…. which puts demands on government to support income losses…. which leads to govt pumping more money.  This is the dependency and welfare cycle that seems intentionally being deployed by Biden and the socialists behind him.

FORBES – “Consumers spent less last month than economists had expected, buying fewer things online and holding off on car purchases, the Census Bureau reported Tuesday morning, following Friday’s report of “a stunning loss of confidence

[…]Consumers spent 1.1% less in July than June, more than the 0.3% decline economists cited by MarketWatch had been expecting, after increasing 0.7% the previous month. The decline was driven by the lack of motor vehicle sales, which fell 4.3%.  Nonstore retailers, which includes online shopping, fell 3.1%” (link)

Lindell’s Invesitgation

While Lindell has focused on China. he totally ignored the implications of the World Economic Forum and Gates. China may have indeed wanted Biden in as President – no doubt. But all my sources point to COVID coming from a private source that is moving to create a one-world government using the United Nations. China may be a nice diversion and a cover story for the movers & shakers in Switzerland, but we have to broaden this scope and not just focus on Chinese ownership of stock.

Shortages & Unemployment

Armstrong Economics Blog/Economics Re-Posted Aug 13, 2021 by Martin Armstrong

The Federal Reserve’s take on the coin shortage says that there are ample coins in the economy, but the banks have also been closed so there was a shortage also created by the fact that businesses could not get coins from a local bank that was operating only in a virtual mode. This also contributed to the problem. So banks, mints, transportation, and mines were all shut down which has created the problem you see in coin shortages, but this similar problem has infected all of the economies. So we have shortages in just about everything.

What COVID has done is tapped into those who prefer welfare and have no problem not working as long as everything is free. Organizations have been formed to keep living for free with no consideration of what that really means to the economy as a whole. They are out in full force to prevent evictions and they only look at this from their perspective. If the landlords are not paid, then they cannot pay their mortgages, and then the banks foreclose. Living free is not a long-term solution but we can easily see how many would love Guaranteed Basic Income with no responsibilities. Without rents, landlords can’t pay mortgages but also repairs. So they will demand landlords repair their place but refuse to pay for anything. What will happen is simple. They will convert private property into state housing and then you will have converted New York City to one giant ghetto.

Everywhere you look there is help wanted signs yet unemployment will not decline. I get a lot of emails from small businesses that cannot go back to normal because there is not enough staff. We even have Judges who have totally lost their mind ordering Maryland must continue to pay the extra unemployment benefits. This is raising unemployment costs in taxes upon those who are working.

You really can’t make up this nonsense. Nobody in their right mind would have created such a system – even a socialist, which would just argue to confiscate property to prevent evictions. Those of us who are working will pay more in taxes to support those who want a free lunch and everything else.
