Science is ONLY Possible with Constant Inquiry

Armstrong Economics Blog/Understanding Cycles Re-Posted Jan 3, 2023 by Martin Armstrong

Everybody seems to be up in arms over Musk turning Twitter into a real social media platform. When Klaus Schwab and his World Economic Forum ban Twitter, you know Musk is doing a great job. Bringing an end to all the propaganda from disease to Putin is such a breath of fresh air. Pray for Elon Musk. You can bet they are trying to come up with a disease or a fancy way they can claim he committed suicide.

When I was researching at the Firestone Library at Princeton University, I back friends with a professor there. One day he said to me that I reminded him of Einstein. Was shocked. I said that’s not possible. He said to me that Einstein always attributed his achievements to being curious. He said I had that same curiosity but in economics. I began to understand that ALL scientific inquiry DEMAND curiosity. If we are never curious, we will never discover anything no matter what the field.

No matter what field, you MUST always challenge the status quo. If we do not do that, besides the fact this becomes belief and not science, we will NEVER advance as a society. No matter what the field, without that freedom to inquire, society will collapse just as Communism did. If people are herded into pens like cattle and told they cannot challenge the accepted norm, they are killing humanity. This is why the government has been behind the curtain instructing social media to censor individuals and ideas all for them to desperately retain control. But they feel the world is slipping away. This is why they are fighting so hard to try to stop this trend for they know in the end – this is the decline and fall of western forms of republican governments.

Unprecedented Migration Crisis Continues as the White House Must Replace Disenfranchised Americans

Posted originally on the CTH on December 21, 2022 | Sundance

Ask the why question five times to any complex problem and you get to the core of the matter.

Why is the Biden administration allowing tens of thousands of illegal aliens, aka ‘migrants’, to cross the southern border every day?

The answer is not complex.

Because the Biden administration wants tens of thousands of illegal aliens to cross the southern border every day.

If they didn’t, they wouldn’t.

The question is not why are they crossing, the question is why does the White House want them to cross?

A person of reasonable disposition would recognize that a corrupt and illegitimate administration, installed by an apparatus of government, is not really calling the shots.

As the Twitter Files have shown, albeit filtered as they are, U.S. candidate Joe Biden was installed by the collective weight of an intentionally manipulated information control operation, run and influenced by the United States intelligence community.

The installation itself sets the cornerstone for the understanding of every action that flows from it.

In general terms, the daily number of the inbound aliens must necessarily exceed the daily number of the American people who awaken to accept they are being victimized by the installed apparatus.

If 10,000 more Americans are negatively impacted every day and as a result awaken every day to the internal corruption, it only makes sense -from the perspective of the people in control- that 10,000 plus one is needed as replacements to retain stasis.

The scale of the inbound population must match the scale of the loss of support for the regime that exists amid the current population.  In the larger measure that sets the forward looking standard for the influx.

If fewer people were inbound than the number awakened, the regime remains under threat.  It’s a math issue.

Consider the 30,000 ft mindset of a Fabian socialist, or an ideology based on fundamental change, the threat is always a growing numerator.  The denominator must expand to compensate for the growing numerator.

Now, keep history of the Solidarity movement at the forefront of thinking.  In the U.S. example the numerator is awakening Americans and the denominator is the U.S. workforce.

Put aside armed or violent conflict for a moment and consider the ultimate threat to the regime as represented by the historic reference of the Solidarity movement.  If millions of Americans went on a general labor strike in protest to the political policies that are creating a diminished lifestyle, they would be striking from the position of knowing greater benefit in the past.  The population, in this case the U.S. workers, would be striking because they are losing something.  They are losing their standard of living.

How do you mitigate that risk?

The easiest way to mitigate the risk is to replace the disgruntled population with a new population who view the current standard of living as better than what they had.

The diminished standard is still far higher than the living standard the migrant holds as a reference. Therefore, if there is any national movement to push back against the regime, the new migrants have no vested interest in it.  They simply replace the workforce that is protesting.

How would the Polish Solidarity movement have succeeded if Lithuanian, German and Ukrainian workers flowed into Poland to replace the striking masses.  Or for this context, how does an American worker solidarity movement succeed if Mexican, Honduran, Guatemalan and El Salvadorian workers simply replace them.

You ask me why I continue to say the U.S. labor unions need to dispatch their communist leadership and quickly align with MAGA?   This is why….

NEW YORK — Some of the biggest cities and states led by Democrats are expecting an influx of migrants as soon as the nation’s Title 42 border restrictions are lifted — and they’re worried they won’t be able to handle the surge.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker said the state is scrambling to find housing ahead of the bitter cold winter while Chicago received more than two dozen migrants on Tuesday. New York Mayor Eric Adams is predicting 1,000 migrants a week will arrive in the city and is already weighing reopening a controversial tent encampment to accommodate them.

“Our shelter system is full, and we are nearly out of money, staff, and space,” Adams said this week. “If corrective measures are not taken soon, we may very well be forced to cut or curtail programs New Yorkers rely on, and the pathway to house thousands more is uncertain.” His administration is calling the migrant issue an “unprecedented emergency.

Title 42, an immigration policy put into place during the pandemic, was scheduled to be lifted Wednesday, but Chief Justice John Roberts temporarily blocked the border rule at the urging of 19 Republican-led states, which appealed the plan to open up the nation’s borders again.

The stay by Roberts is temporary, and states are bracing for what’s next if — and when — Title 42 is eventually lifted. There’s added anxiety too over whether Republican governors will transport thousands of migrants to Democratic-led strongholds by bus or plane, as Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis did this year.

Over the last month, thousands of migrants have crossed into the U.S. at the Texas border ahead of the expiration of Title 42, a Trump administration pandemic policy that allows the U.S. to expel migrants in order to stem the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Last weekend, the mayor of El Paso declared a state of emergency to help manage the rush of people while Abbott deployed hundreds of Texas national guard and state troopers along the border to block migrants from entering the U.S. (read more)

The illegitimate regime of Joe Biden was installed by the collective weight of an intentionally manipulated domestic information control operation. That operation was run and influenced by the United States intelligence community, through the U.S. social media system (Twitter, Facebook, etc.), with the full support of a complicit legislative branch.

Set that cornerstone and then everything that comes after that process, including the need to control future elections, is a process of risk mitigation.

That reality is the ultimate reason why there is a disconnect between the American people and our government.

Every government and social institution are now predicated on the retention of fraud.  The U.S. system of government is now exhausting itself, spending the majority of time and institutional energy, maintaining the lies that underpin it.

One of the key institutions charged with maintaining that pretense is, wait for it…  the FBI.

Things making sense now?

A Technical Study of Relationships in Solar Flux, Water and other Gasses in the upper Atmosphere, Using the November, 2022 NASA & NOAA Data

From the attached report on climate change for November 2022 Data we have the two charts showing how much the global temperature has actually gone up since we started to measure CO2 in the atmosphere in 1958? To show this graphically Chart 8a was constructed by plotting CO2 as a percent increase from when it was first measured in 1958, the Black plot, the scale is on the left and it shows CO2 going up by about 32.4% from 1958 to November of 2022. That is a very large change as anyone would have to agree.  Now how about temperature, well when we look at the percentage change in temperature also from 1958, using Kelvin (which does measure the change in heat), we find that the changes in global temperature (heat) is almost un-measurable at less than .4%.

As you see the increase in energy, heat, is not visually observably in this chart hence the need for another Chart 8 to show the minuscule increase in thermal energy shown by NASA in relationship to the change in CO2 Shown in the next Chart using a different scale.

This is Chart 8 which is the same as Chart 8a except for the scales. The scale on the right side had to be expanded 10 times (the range is 50 % on the left and 5% on the right) to be able to see the plot in the same chart in any detail. The red plot, starting in 1958, shows that the thermal energy in the earth’s atmosphere increased by .40%; while CO2 has increased by 32.4% which is 80 times that of the increase in temperature. So is there really a meaningful link between them that would give as a major problem?

Based to these trends, determined by excel not me, in 2028 CO2 will be 428 ppm and temperatures will be a bit over 15.0o Celsius and in 2038 CO2 will be 458 ppm and temperatures will be 15.6O Celsius.

The NOAA and NASA numbers tell us the True story of the

Changes in the planets Atmosphere

What investment would have produced 4,414% Gain since 1932?

Armstrong Economics Blog/Traders Re-Posted Dec 13, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

Imagine if you could have bought a loaf of bread in 1932 for 7 cents. That 7 cents would be $3.09 today would be a gain of 4,414%. Of course, you could not even freeze it that long. That is also the problem with many who sell investments. Gold was $20.67 in 1932 so that has been a gain of 8990%. On the other hand, the Dow Jones Industrials bottomed in 1932 at 40.56. That has been a gain of 83,992%.

In 1955, the Dreyfus Fund was established by a New York stockbroker named Jack J. Dreyfus, Jr. (1913–2009)  It was Dreyfus who acquired the open-end Nesbett Fund, which had $2.3 million in assets.  This ambitious stockbroker renamed the fund bestowing his own family name upon it which would become a household word in the decades ahead.  By year end, the assets grew to $5.6 million as 1955 drew to a close.  The best decision Dreyfus made was to buy 400 shares of an unlisted stock.  That “sleeper” stock was Polaroid which he bought for $31 7/8.  Dreyfus would watch this single purchase rise to $6,372 per share – not counting splits – in the years ahead.  This outstanding performance almost single-handedly led to the mutual fund boom in the 1960s.

Sometimes a new technology paves the way for something that changes the game.

A Test of Intelligence

Armstrong Economics Blog/Opinion Re-Posted Dec 8, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

COMMENT: Mr. Armstrong, your dog is a cutie! I hate to tell you, but your dog will eventually learn to spell. My wife and I had two poodle-bichons, now deceased after 15 1/2 wonderful years. At first we used your method of spelling out rather than using certain words. In about 2 weeks, they got wise and equated the sound and sequence of the letters with things that they liked to do or eat. There was no fooling them. I have found that smaller dogs are much more clever than the large ones; also, mixed breeds seem to be smarter – and tougher – than the purebreds. There are, of course, exceptions.
In all honesty, dogs are smarter than a lot of people that I know. They are aware of their environment and, if permitted to do so, adapt as necessary.
Thanks for all that you do. Your write-up on price controls and pegs was particularly useful for me. Have a great day and an even better weekend!!!

REPLY: I for one probably never considered the intelligence of a dog. Being engrossed in AI programming, I had to really understand how we think. For example, perhaps the night you fell in love your mind was recording everything unknowingly. You might recall that memory from any individual sense. The food, the smell, the song that was playing, the place, and so on. That memory exists but it can be accessed by any single sense. That was very important in trying to understand even how to begin to program AI. It obviously could not be a simple linear progression – IF x THEN y ELSE z – (the fundamental programming equation.

What I was stunned by was she indeed was building a knowledge base keeping track of what I would do and what I like and then could develop patterns to forecast what I would do next. But she was also displaying strategy. I would throw a ball and expect the standard go fetch. Then she would take the ball and drop it down the stairs and more or less say, OK, now your turn – go fetch. I was simply not prepared to actually interact with a dog that was intelligent aside from the emotional reactions of happy to see you etc. She was displaying the same patterns of thinking that I studied to create AI. Even more fascinating, she was displaying traits of curiosity. I throw the clothes from the washer to the dryer and she has to come and watch. I had heard the saying that curiosity killed the cat. But I never really thought much of it.

She sparked my curiosity. Was she exceptional? Was this normal? A study took place at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Germany. The study worked with 32 dogs and 20 chimpanzees who were each to carry out the same task. The dogs all responded positively and immediately. However, the chimpanzees didn’t seem to understand what was being asked of them. She would bark at another dog but hold her up to the mirror and she knew it was her. In fact, only a small percentage of animal species have passed this mirror test.

Actions not only speak louder than words, they are the key to understanding how we think as well as even our pets.  Spatial thinking is the foundation of thought and evolved long before even language and as such, you can see it in even your dog’s behavior. Spatial thinking is the knowledge, skills, and habits of the mind using the concepts of space such as distance, orientation, distribution, and association. Even throwing a ball for a dog or faking a throw and they quickly use these same tools to conclude where the ball went or if you never threw it in the first place.

We use such Spatial thinking tools of representation such as maps, graphs, and diagrams, for trading, and how we process these images forms the cornerstone of our reasoning. In other words,  this is the ability for cognitive strategies to facilitate even problem-solving and decision-making. It is the foundation of the very structure of problem-solving, finding answers, and expressing that as the solutions to these problems.

I confess, I never expected a dog to have such qualities of intelligence. I suppose I was biased and just never expected anything so I did not look. This is what I taught Socrates to do. Explore everything and retain curiosity at all costs. Check if Azuki Beans in Japan might become a replacement for fossil fuels – which it is not. However, if we do not look we cannot answer that question definitively.

So pay attention to your dog. You might be surprised that they do not love you because you simply feed them. There is a lot more going on that I never would have expected myself.
