French President Macron Declares “Social and Economic” State of Emergency….

With massive civil unrest overwhelming many parts of French society, President Emmanuel Macron made a televised speech to the nation attempting to calm the anger. Macron declared a social and economic state of emergency and attempted to stop the ongoing Yellow Vest protests by announcing a special year-end bonus.

In addition to the year-end bonus, during the national address from the Elysee Palace Macron announced an increase in the minimum wage of €100 per month; a tax exemption on overtime pay; and a plan to not raise taxes on pensioners with an income less than €2,000/month.  Here’s the english version of the EU broadcast.

.

When the same issues happened in Venezuela, Maduro followed a similar plan… things didn’t end well.   Macron has already committed the full weight of his police and military to crush any uprising.  Tenuous times in France.

1,400 Arrests in France as Yellow Vest Protests Spread Across Europe…

French President Emmanuel Macron may have maneuvered to block the growing uprising, but it’s quite possible he’ll lose his presidency in the process. French police took a much more aggressive posture this weekend.  The violence is disturbing.

In an effort to stop a replay of last week’s violence, French police moved in pre-dawn raids to round up those they identified as leaders of the Yellow Vest protest movement. In the city of Paris over 800 arrests were made by Macron’s forces and the French military were deployed. Overall, throughout France more than 1,400 arrests were made so far.

As the sun set, less organized protests continued as frustrated French set fire to cars, burned barricades and smashed windows in isolated geographic pockets within the city. Police forces were boosted to around 8,000 across Paris, with EU armored vehicles deployed in the city of lights for the first time in modern history. The pictures are stunning.

Germany’s Most Beautiful Policewoman Told to Be a Cop or a Model

One of the clear cultural differences between Europe and the United States is that they even have the “hottest” female police officer – Adrienne Koleszar. That is something they just would not do in the United States. We hold Senate hearings because Janet Jackson’s breast popped out on TV at the Super Bowl. It is interesting that from the outside looking in, America is viewed as being prudish, to put it mildly.  Yet Adrienne’s boss told her she had to choose between being a cop or a model.

I appeared in Dresden but the police who were there to keep the crowds in line certainly did not look like her. The people were very warm and they even handed me a bouquet of flowers at the end of my presentation. Never had that in any other city I have ever made a presentation.

Denmark to Banish the Worst Problem Refugees on a Tiny Island

Denmark plans to house the country’s most unwelcome foreign refugee who has caused problems in a most unwelcoming place they could find – Lindholm Island. It is a tiny, hard-to-reach island that now holds the laboratories, stables, and crematory of a center for researching contagious animal diseases. They are planning to house up to 100 people there. Perhaps the real incentive is to leave and go home or at least to Germany.

Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer Replaces Merkel

Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer was elected by the CDU party congress in the second ballot by a narrow majority to the new CDU chairmen. Kramp-Karrenbauer received 51.75% of the delegate votes, Friedrich Merz 48.25% of the vote. Jens Spahn was eliminated after the first ballot. Therefore, the CDU has sealed its fate. Kramp-Karrenbauer will maintain the policies of Merkel and will not push Merkel out of office. This is setting things up for a stronger rise of the AfD and puts the CDU at risk of dividing yet over the Refugee Issue.

Hillary should have just learned to speak German.

Sacrebleu !! Macron Shuts Down Paris in Attempt To Stop Protests, Deploys 89,000 Police Around France….

Yikes, and a simultaneous ‘Wow’.  French President Emmanuel Macron has officially shut down Paris this weekend in his attempt to stop the “Yellow Vest” populist uprising against current political policies.

The primary tourist venues are all closed; shops ordered to close; windows boarded up; 8,000 police units dispatched to Paris and 89,000 deployed throughout the country.

PARIS (Reuters) – Paris was in lockdown early on Saturday with thousands of French security forces braced to meet renewed rioting by “yellow vest” protesters in the capital and other cities in a fourth weekend of confrontation over living costs.

The Eiffel Tower and other tourist landmarks were shut, shops were boarded up to avoid looting and street furniture removed to avoid metal bars from being used as projectiles. About 89,000 police were deployed across the country.

Of these, about 8,000 were deployed in Paris to avoid a repeat of last Saturday’s mayhem when rioters torched cars and looted shops off the famed Champs Elysees boulevard, and defaced the Arc de Triomphe with graffiti directed at President Emmanuel Macron.

Protesters, using social media, have billed the weekend as “Act IV” in a dramatic challenge to Macron and his policies.

The protests, named after the high-visibility safety jackets French motorists have to keep in their cars, erupted in November over the squeeze on household budgets caused by fuel taxes.

Demonstrations have since swelled into a broad, sometimes-violent rebellion against Macron – a challenge made more difficult to handle since the movement has no formal leader. (read more)

If you don’t think these global elites take this stuff seriously, and are willing to go to any length to stop political nationalist uprisings, just take a look at how far they are willing to go with this one.

This isn’t Tehran or Beijing… this is Paris. Proving, once again, that globalism is really just the glove covering the hand of oppressive totalitarianism.

Next stop…. shut down the internet in France.
