President Trump stops military aircraft availability for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi just minutes ahead of a previously scheduled foreign trip. Read below:
I would expect the Democrats will use a DNC billionaire donors’ private fleet.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s while fighting cancer, has now contracted Pneumonia and is fighting for her life. From a purely cyclical perspective, there should be another appointment this year to the Supreme Court. Even on an average basis, since 1789 there have been 114 judges up to Brett Kavanaugh. That means at the very latest the next appointment would be in 2020. Ginsburg will fight til her last breath to try to deny Trump another appointment. That does not look to be plausible. She is 86 this year.
Believe it or not, member of Congress continue to get paid even when there is a shutdown on the basis that Congress refuses to fund the government. Elizabeth Warren has come out and stated that she will donate her salary during the shutdown. The Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, is paid $223,500 per year. The Democrats fought to include a new top bracket raising it from $250,000 to $500,000 to reach 37% tax rate. It was embarrassing when you are earning close to $250,000 and you keep demonetizing the rich.
Of course, Congress is excluded from Obamacare. They get their own golden deals of unlimited care. That is worth more than $50,000 annually which they do not include in a salary.
So any wonder why the member of Congress can let a shutdown go on and on? Easy, they still get paid when everyone else does not. Nancy Pelosi reiterated that Democrats will not agree to a border wall but joked that she’d give Trump $1 for it.
They believe they can make Trump look like the bad guy here and the shutdown can be a long one indeed. They have dug in their heels and it is hard to see how they can back down now without losing face. The fact that the wall would be $5.7 billion and one week’s interest bill to keep rolling the debt comes in at $6.7 billion. This is simply a political standoff demonstrating that Congress has lost all civility and is incapable of managing the country going forward. There is no reversal in sight and we simply cascade in this death spiral into 2032. Perhaps now we can see that indeed the United States will cease to exist as we know it after 2032. The USA will be prone to separatist movements as well after 2024. That appears to be the target for absolute political disintegration
The British pound moved higher following the British Prime Minister Theresa May’s government narrowly surviving a no confidence vote brought by the opposition over the handling of BREXIT. The vote was narrow with May winning by just 19 votes. Our sources were correct that she would survive. However, while the 21st seems to be a target date of our models, the prime minister has just three days to propose an alternative deal – that is January 21st. I find it curious how the computer picks weeks in advance of political events the targets for market movements that are driven by politics. There is clearly something beyond the headlines that the computer picks up.
COMMENT: Hi,
The Norwegian Data Protection Authority is now arguing that GPS based taxation, for the amount of kilometers driven by car, can be done within 5-6 years! Norwegians trust the government way too much, because they believe that this system will eliminate the need for road tax, fuel tax, toll roads and reduce the cost of car insurance.
No way will the tax be reduced! GPS based taxation is a governments dream! Who is to stop them from issuing parking fees or speeding tickets?
Norway also has a high number of electric cars, and an electric car is sold without any tax or VAT, has reduced road tax, free of reduced toll road passage and does not contribute to fuel taxation. With GPS active, the government can finally collect taxes from electric cars without the messy environmentalists meddling.
In the worst case, a corrupt government can use the system against its people to create implications, push the burden of proof over to a troublesome citizen, in court.
Norway may be a great country regards to statistics, but will be some kind of self-imposed totalitarianism if this nonsense continues. Stay away from Norway if you cherish your hard-earned cash!
And as always, thank you, Mr. Armstrong, for your service and enlightenment.

REPLY: The political-economic system post-World War II has been a socialist driven agenda. “Vote for me and I will give you other people’s money.” This system cannot be sustained when those in power have promised themselves pensions. As government workers retire, they need to be replaced. The growth rate of government has started to explode. Instead of looking at the problem objectively, they are simply looking from paycheck to paycheck on how to meet the next payroll. This leads them to become more and more aggressive in hunting things to tax. Any rational person would look at this economic model and see it leads to massive civil unrest. They pretend that socialism is to help people, but they come first. As this gets far worse, nothing trickles down to the people.
Even former President Grover Cleveland, who was a Democrat, saw the insanity his party unleashed with the Silver Democrats. Taxing the rich does not present a solution. They will simply leave. The rich, through their investments, create jobs. This proposal to use GPS to track movements for taxes will allow the government to end tolls, and thus reduce their own workforce and pension liabilities. This has been the very idea behind E-Z Pass in the USA where you drive through tolls and are automatically charged.
After losing a key vote to advance her Brexit plan, the U.K. Parliament held a confidence vote. Despite the lost vote 24 hours earlier, British MPs voted 325 to 306 affirming their confidence in May’s government.
Prime Minister May delivered remarks on the past two days from 10 Downing Street.
Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer met privately with AG nominee William Barr earlier today. At the conclusion of the meeting Senator Schumer addresses the media.
Schumer appears conflicted and confused as to how to describe his own highly political desires with the answers he received from Mr. Barr. It does not appear Schumer was pleased with his overall inability to leverage control over the nominee; and that comes out in the early part of his statement. That’s a good sign. Watch:
.
The issue of how Mr. Barr would produce a summary document about the completed Mueller investigation is an aspect that deserves some clarity and discussion.
The best way to think about the Mueller report is to think about the local police department (detective or DA) doing an investigation on a subject and completing that task.
At the conclusion of the inquiry, if there is no determination of criminal wrongdoing, the investigator does not outline the investigation in a report to the general public.
The basic premise behind this standard process is simple. Everyone is innocent unless they can be proven to be guilty.
If everyone who was ever investigated had the internal investigative material made public it would be profoundly unfair to the target. It would be even more unfair if the investigator was allowed to frame a public report, with their own internal biases and innuendo, in lieu of their ability to find criminal wrongdoing.
Now amplify that simple fairness issue x 1,000 and consider how severely political federal investigators might produce such a document against their opposition. It is easy to see how such a report can be weaponized for political benefit. The weaponization and benefit is the goal of the current Democrat leadership.
However, specifically to address these issues, and in an attempt to remove the political weaponization possible within the special counsel statute, the DOJ framed the ending of a special counsel investigation such that a summary of investigative finding is delivered to the U.S. Attorney General, who then puts out a public statement (of sorts) describing the conclusion (the finding).
Pelosi, Schumer and the Democrats do not want William Barr to be able to write a summary, a public statement, based on the report delivered to him by Robert Mueller.
Instead, the Democrats want the report from Mueller, including all the investigative trails that were exhausted, so they can exploit aspects of the inquiry that were not able to be proven, and weaponize “innuendo” and “possibility” for political benefit.
Minority Leader Schumer is frustrated he cannot get Barr to accept that demand.
There is a slight parallel here to the position of those who are selling the honorable Rosenstein and Mueller origination angle. This is where the “trust the plan” folks, align with the Epoch Times community of narrative engineers.
The Epoch Times engineering position, writ large, is that DAG Rod Rosenstein was seeking to protect President Trump when he appointed Robert Mueller. It is into this engineering community where all the leaked congressional transcripts are being deposited.
In their Epoch collective opinion, after James Comey was fired, the highly corrupt Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe was about to launch a retaliatory counter-attack against the President using a new focus for the ongoing counterintelligence investigation. Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein saw what McCabe was about to launch and removed his ability to do it by appointing Robert Mueller as special counsel to take over the originating investigation.
According to this viewpoint, Rosenstein saved President Trump from the wrath of McCabe by appointing Mueller (May, 2017).
Following that perspective…. Seeing the overt weaponization of the FBI, the DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz was then guided to begin targeting inquiry toward Andrew McCabe and the “small group” more aggressively (June through November 2017). This led to the December 2017 revelations behind the activities of the small group (James Comey, Jim Rybicki, Andrew McCabe, Jim Baker, Michael Kortan, Lisa Page, Peter Strzok, Bruce Ohr etc.)
The parallel here is that William Barr’s current position, perspective and intent with the Mueller report; if you follow the ‘trust-the-plan’ crew; is similar to the position, perspective and intent held by DAG Rod Rosenstein when he cut McCabe off at the knees. [McCabe, Baker, Kortan and Strzok obviously fired; and Page quit.]
However, what this “honorable Rosenstein” view fails to reconcile is the predicate, the essential false underpinning of the entire Mueller probe. Also, the ridiculous aspect of Russian indictments that Rosenstein knows are entirely manufactured for political optical value only. [See: the Concord fiasco and the Russian woman posting memes.]
If Rosenstein was aware what the corrupt crew of DOJ and FBI officials were doing, he damned sure didn’t do anything about it, quite the opposite. If he was aware of how corrupt FBI officials were targeting their political opposition… why did Rosenstein direct all attention away from that truth? Why permit the DOJ and FBI to redact text messages between Page and Strzok when there was/is no legal basis to redact the text messages between Page and Strzok (merely one example).
I can find no action by FBI Director Chris Wray (Rosenstein selection), Deputy Director David Bowdich or Legal Counsel Dana Boente, that has addressed the internal corruption identified throughout their institution. Quoting the IG Report:
Instead of exposing the issues, what we can clearly see is an effort to avoid discussing and exposing that corruption at all costs.
Wonder if you have any insights as to the history of the bank clearing process.
Was the clearing process created mainly so banks could play games and earn interest with peoples’ money
with the reasoning that it was to prevent money laundering?
With technological advances today, one can accept an hour or two for automatic name and account number checks to happen
but 3-7 days seems ridiculous.
Any insights to the creation of the clearing process would be enlightening.
Thank you again
KW
ANSWER: The function of bank clearing began with giro-banking, which originated in the Temple of Delos in Greece. The term refers to the circulation of money. It originated where you could write a check to one person and transfer the payment to their account at the same bank. Effectively, in ancient Greece, you would have an account at the Temple in Delos and instruct a transfer to their account in the Temple. The Romans adopted this concept and thus Roman banking was born.
A central bank emerged after the Dark Ages in the early modern history as a government or state-owned banks. The Dutch were pioneers and financial innovators who not only created this state banking concept, but they also invented insurance. The Wisselbank was the first such bank in Amsterdam which was founded in the Dutch Republic during 1609. The Wisselbank became the model of the central banking system and it spread throughout Europe; first in 1668 in Sweden known as the Sveriges Riksbank and then the Bank of England in 1694.
When smaller private banks began to pop up, the state-owned banks emerged as clearing banks where transfers between the accounts at the central bank took place the same as they did between accounts in ancient Delos.
The Wisselbank actually collapsed in 1790 after it was revealed that the deposits have been used secretly to fund the Dutch East India Company. The manipulation was that they represented themselves as just holding money for safe-keeping. They did not lend money out. So when the bank failed and they had been using the money to fund the Dutch East India Company, the city had to bail out the bank and stand behind the losses.
To eliminate cash, the ECB has a secret project to provide instantaneous transfers for each transaction. Therefore, the central bank was simply a state-owned bank whereas a clearing bank was one where all banks must clear transactions
QUESTION: RE: ….& Coming Barter System.
So, are you suggesting that we may see a shift to Silver by private individuals as the only way to sidestep Government stupidity, or will it be even worse, like trading whiskey for toilet paper??
TWE
ANSWER: Assuming government attempts to follow the IMF’s advice and create cryptocurrencies to replace paper money, then the only alternative will be the barter system. To make this clear, the likelihood of the USA following this route is a last resort. It will NOT be the first, but the last. We will see this in Europe before we will ever see it in the USA.
This cannot be a question that is answered based upon OPINION, for we all have one. The only rational way to approach that question is to look at history and see how people responded to similar but not identical positions. What comes to mind in Japan. Each new emperor devalued the money issued his own coins worth 10x that of the coins of the previous emperor. People resorted to bags of rice and they used the coins of China. Everyone refused to use Japanese coins. The result was that Japan LOST the right to issue coins at all for 600 years.
Moving to a cryptocurrency to stop the underground economy from using paper money will simply switch it to foreign currency (dollars in Europe) or something commodity based. In federal prisons, when they banned smoking back in 2004, packs of mackerel industry became the prison currency. Everyone operated an internal economy. They used cigarettes as their currency of choice to purchase anything from food and home-brewed prison hooch. They also used books of stamps. Prisoners could ship books of stamps out and they could resell them at a discount. Mackerel became the small change at about $1 a pack. There are fully developed economies within prisons. Someone skilled at drawing would make cards for holidays, while others were good at a trades tailoring to fix your clothing. Others would take a scarf and turn it into a warm knitted hat.
Once you eliminate the freedom that paper money provides, the government may believe it will get 100% of every tax it ever dreamed of but the underground economy will flip to barter. As far as silver is concerned, I would prefer silver coins that are recognizable to the average person. Offering bars of silver would be at a discount, for it will require knowledge and testing.
Prime Minister Theresa May now faces a no-confidence vote after her BREXIT plan was defeated to be submitted by opposition Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn. Nonetheless, our sources there say that she will probably survive as the Conservatives who rejected her plan are not likely to vote for a no-confidence motion realizing that a Corbyn victory would more or less signal it is time to leave Britain on the next flight. Corbyn’s socialist policies would only put Britain in a heated competition in Europe with France as to who could go bankrupt first. Macron realizes that socialism has destroyed the French economy, but he has no real support to try to change that policy.
This defeat of her plan for BREXIT only increases the chances of a hard-exit come March. The talk both in London and Brussels is all about postponing the inevitable. The idea is gaining ground now that the UK should seek to delay its departure from the EU. The SNP has called for extra time for an extension of article 50 beyond March 2019 so that the government could “go back and negotiate a better deal”. Meanwhile, those who have supported of a second referendum, such as the Conservative former cabinet minister Justine Greening, is joined by others behind the curtain who believe that the exit clause could be extended until the end of July 2019 to allow time for another vote.
Our timing models still show March and May as the key targets this year.
