Whether you believe Fox News intentionally created this opening, or whether it was just a disastrous mistake on behalf of a multi-billion corporation with a full suite of lawyers they chose not to use, Rupert Murdoch’s Fox Corp created a problem in the Dominion settlement that is only going to get worse.
Once you expose yourself to the vulnerabilities of Lawfare, the leftists will pour through the opening like Central American aliens in Texas. Funded by allies in the cultural and political battle, former DHS Disinformation Czar Nina Jankowicz is now suing Fox News for defamation of her character and reputational harm.
NEW YORK – The head of the short-lived Department of Homeland Security (DHS) disinformation board has launched a defamation suit against Fox News, alleging the network published false reports about her that endangered her life.
Nina Jankowicz was tapped to lead DHS’s Disinformation Governance Board, and though the board never held a meeting, it was heavily criticized by the GOP and was regularly covered by Fox News.
The purpose of the board was to coordinate disinformation efforts at DHS across topics ranging from migration to addressing plots from Russia and Iran.
The Republican National Committee dubbed it the “Ministry of Truth” in a nod to George Orwell’s novel “1984” and couched disinformation as “any speech we don’t like.”
Fox News mentioned Jankowicz and her role leading the board more than 300 times in its resulting coverage, with hosts and commentators asserting she planned to censor speech with nicknames like “disinfo overlord,” “disinformation czaress,” and “minister of truth.”
[…] Jankowicz’s suit alleges the outlet appeared to personally target her given that the coverage extended well past her resignation.
“Fox’s defamatory coverage has caused Jankowicz and her family immense suffering. Jankowicz has been doxed, threatened, harassed relentlessly, and even cyberstalked,” the suit says.
“Fox enfolded these lies in ugly language that could have no other purpose than to denigrate Jankowicz’s character and professional reputation, particularly since they continued long after Jankowicz’s resignation from government.” (read more)
Personally, I believe the bigger picture behind all this we will find the successful DEI approach by activists toward all advertisers. Fox News had the #1 viewer rating, but struggled with advertisers due to the boycotts, activists and controversies that enmesh the political battle space. Essentially, demonetization by activism.
What we are witnessing at Fox News is what we might call a self-fulfilling prophecy; when the people in charge of the institution do not align with the content or product the institution is creating. The result is a corporate flippant and cavalier approach toward the collapse of the enterprise. The Lawfare operatives are moving in to clean the bones of the carcass.
“Foxweiser’d” – it’s a verb to describe taking a majority approved brand and aligning yourself with minority interests to destroy it. Also called stepping on a rake.
With Fox News reported to have lost half their audience, the trio of MSNBC, CNN and Fox Corp are now neck, neck and neck, in a three-way race to the bottom. Into this financial spiral, which doesn’t seem the least bit worrisome to the board and owners who are more concerned with their multinational financial interests, comes Fox News prepositioning to avoid further downgrading via a Tucker counter offensive.
Axios is reporting that Tucker Carlson is going to launch nuclear tipped verbal SCUDS at Fox News as soon as his tongue is unleashed. However, a note of caution is warranted. Which is more likely: (a) that Carlson is going to expend the energy on an irrelevant media network committed to destroying itself; or (b) that Fox News is leaking information to Axios in a proactive measure to mitigate their fall into irrelevance.
Stop Pretending – Anyone who is still appearing on Fox News to support the network, specifically including anyone who would appear on Sean Hannity show – a man entirely compromised by his zipper problems and therefore useful to the interests of the opposition, is at this point aligning themselves against ‘We The People’. [Insert upcoming tour de’ force of Fox News on behalf of Ron DeSantis here]
AXIOS – Tucker Carlson is preparing to unleash allies to attack Fox News in an effort to bully the network into letting him work for — or start — a right-wing rival, sources close to him tell Axios.
Bryan Freedman, the high-powered Hollywood lawyer Carlson retained for the contract dispute, told Axios: “The idea that anyone is going to silence Tucker and prevent him from speaking to his audience is beyond preposterous.”
Why it matters: Tucker vs. Fox could reshape the conservative news world. Fox, which has seen its ratings plunge in Carlson’s slot since he was let go 13 days ago, wants to sideline him by paying him $20 million a year not to work.
The intrigue: Axios has learned Carlson is busy plotting a media empire of his own. But he needs Fox to let him out of his contract, which expires in January 2025 — after the presidential election.
We’re told Carlson has been contacted by outlets — including the right-wing Rumble and Newsmax — that offered to pay him more than his Fox contract.
Behind the scenes: Axios has learned that Carlson and Elon Musk had a conversation about working together, but didn’t discuss specifics.
Carlson confidants say he also is contemplating building a direct-to-consumer media outlet where his millions of fans could pay to watch him. Carlson’s predecessor in his Fox slot, Bill O’Reilly, created a blueprint for this.
Two days after being booted, Carlson teased in a Twitter video posted at 8 p.m. ET, counter-programming his former show: “See you soon.” The two-minute video has racked up 24 million views.
State of play: The ousted host “knows where a lot of bodies are buried, and is ready to start drawing a map,” said a Carlson source who wasn’t authorized to speak publicly.
Carlson allies with big platforms are prepared to attack Fox for trying to keep him on the shelf.

One thing that should be noted – all of Roger Ailes’ former team would be willing to work free of charge to assist Tucker in breaking billionaire Rupert Murdoch if that was the intent. It’s not, because there’s no need to destroy an enemy that is destroying itself.
It’s still a little too early to predict the attack angle that Fox News Corp is constructing against Donald Trump for their announced control over the August 2023 presidential debate; however, the one thing we are certain of is the attack itself.
You might not remember how CTH accurately predicted the attack by Megyn Kelly and the specific angle of using sexism during the August 2015 debate. That accurate prediction was an assembly of datapoints including Kelly’s lead in television appearances; the fact that FOX’s vice-president of political content, Bill Sammon, was in charge of the debate format; the fact that Rupert Murdoch was promoting Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio; and the fact that Bill Sammon’s daughter, Brooke Sammon, was the communications director for the Rubio campaign. The prediction was accurate, and Megyn Kelly did exactly what Rupert Murdoch paid her to do.
By the time the second Fox News debate came around in Feb 2016, candidate Trump just ignored it and held a rally instead. This is the context for another round of Republican presidential debates, and the intent of Fox News and the RNC to support it, once again. Fox and the RNC have once again agreed to an August 2023 debate – President Trump leading by 30 to 40 points in the polls, has not. [SEE VIDEO] WATCH:
The second debate is scheduled for the Ronald Reagan Library, an ideological opposition group to the interests of MAGA. As noted by the New York Times, “The chairman of the library’s board of trustees, Frederick J. Ryan Jr., also serves as the publisher and chief executive officer of The Washington Post, a fact that Mr. Trump regularly brings up.”
The Ronald Reagan library venue is as establishment Republican as it gets. The America First agenda would find more support at the George W. Bush ranch in Texas. The board members of the Ron Reagan library hate Donald Trump and have never invited him there to speak. For President Trump, that venue is a non-starter.
We all know what both GOPe institutions holding and broadcasting Republican debates are going to attempt against President Trump. Which explains why President Trump has agreed to a CNN townhall event. Even with the pre-planted audience questions and attendees designed to undermine Donald Trump, at least facing the enemy on their turf he knows what to expect.
[New York Times] […] For Mr. Trump, denying his low-polling rivals access to a massive television audience is part of his calculations in potentially skipping the debates, according to the people who have discussed the matter with him. In 2015, Fox News drew an audience of 24 million for the first primary debate of the 2016 campaign. It was, at the time, the biggest viewership for a nonsports event in cable television history.
“In his mind there’s not enough candidates who are polling close enough to him,” said a person familiar with Mr. Trump’s thinking, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private conversations with the former president. “And that if he does a debate this early with candidates who are polling in the single digits, there’s no upside for him.”
Another motivation for Mr. Trump is revenge: The former president has a history with the two institutions hosting the first two Republican candidate debates.
Mr. Trump has told advisers that the second debate is a nonstarter for him because it will be held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. The chairman of the library’s board of trustees, Frederick J. Ryan Jr., also serves as the publisher and chief executive officer of The Washington Post, a fact that Mr. Trump regularly brings up.
Mr. Trump is also sour that the Reagan library has invited numerous other leading Republicans to speak at its events over the past two years, including his presidential rival Mr. DeSantis, but has never extended an invitation to Mr. Trump, according to two people familiar with his thinking.
The library started a speakers series in 2021 called “Time for Choosing,” and invitees have included Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina; Nikki Haley, the former South Carolina governor and United Nations ambassador; and, more recently, Mr. DeSantis. A spokesperson for the library said no former president has been included in the series.
One reason Mr. Trump may skip the first debate is its timing — he believes it’s too early, and has told aides he does not want to debate in August. Another reason is the host, Fox News. (read more)
Whether he does or whether he doesn’t, the big picture remains clear.
The Republican Party apparatus will attempt to use their leverage within the GOPe debates to weaken Donald Trump and enhance Ron DeSantis.
Victor Davis Hanson often has a unique big picture perspective on current events, linking and contrasting the disconnected high-brow outlook to the pragmatic perspectives of the modern populist movement.
Hanson takes an academic approach to the reality of current social constructs, yet in his own unique way he can describe the current status in a thoughtful and practical way. In this analysis VDH contrasts the goals of the ideological media, specifically the goals of those in the Republican wing of the media control apparatus, to the reality they have created by removing the voice of Tucker Carlson. In their quest to control the mounting opposition to the corporate manipulation behind the DC Potemkin Village, the corporate media are creating a nimbler and more consequential army of opposition to their efforts. The need for control is a reaction to fear.
There is a particular type of spider that carries several hundreds of young on her body after birth. If you spot one of these in your shower, and your irrational fear instinct is to smash what seems to be a big scary spider, what you discover in the aftermath is the bathtub walls moving. Yes, you may have squished the spider, but hundreds of smaller spiders are now crawling all around you.
Using his Twitter platform account, at 8:00pm tonight, Tucker Carlson sends a brief message, his first direct broadcast since the removal of his voice from Fox News.
Within the message you will note some common themes to our discussion of these events. (1) Both parties in Washington DC are participating in the fraud and pretending, the UniParty is very real. (2) The people in control of the communication apparatus “are afraid; they’ve given up persuasion, they are resorting to force.” And perhaps the most important message of all (3) “When honest people say what’s true … they become powerful. At the same time the liars that have been trying to silence them, shrink, they become weaker. That’s the iron-law of the universe true things prevail.” WATCH:

None of these things will come as a surprise to readers here. Indeed, we have talked about them frequently. There is no reason to give the manipulators any power over your peace of mind. Stay connected to the truth in things and accept things as they are, not as we would wish them to be.
There is great freedom in speaking the truth of the thing. The natural laws cannot be defeated by the schemes of men…. The Truth Has No Agenda and is very easy to notice. Thus, the final and larger point, trust your instincts. You know the truth of the thing when you see, hear and feel it. At this moment, 13.6 million people have watched this brief Tucker Carlson video on Twitter.
For his daily podcast and discussion segment, UK pundit Neil Oliver puts the firing of Tucker Carlson into a unique context of human behavior. Tucker is taken down like a trophy in the psychology of those who weaponize power. Additionally, Oliver hits on a few points that are very accurate – albeit with some who would disagree – about the need for control being a reaction to fear.
The decisionmakers in the Carlson issue removed his voice from a position of weakness, not strength. The decisionmakers, namely the Ruper Murdoch team, fear Carlson. Lastly, as Oliver accurately notes, history is a wheel – and during travel there are times in the orbit of the wheel when the component part is traveling backwards. WATCH:
.
As you listen to the outline, remember the position of Barack Obama’s former campaign manager, David Plouffe, “it is not enough to simply beat Trump. He must be destroyed thoroughly. His kind must not rise again.”… There is a ring of historical human brutality to it.
