Biden Briefs Media After NATO Summit Over Ukraine Crisis, Russia Status in G20 Challenged, Global Food Shortages Discussed

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on March 24, 2022

With less than a quarter of the U.S. population having any confidence in Biden’s ability to handle the Ukraine crisis [AP Poll], the installed White House occupant headed to NATO to discuss consensus opinion.

Cliff Notes from Presser – Biden was bullish about the NATO alliance, yet everyone essentially agreed to resist Ukraine’s call for them to enforce a no-fly zone in the country.  During the presser [VIDEO], Biden said he wanted Russia’s ouster from the G20 but conceded it likely won’t happen and deferred to the larger group. Biden unveiled new sanctions but acknowledged that they haven’t been and will not be a deterrent. Then said while his administration wants to get Europe to stop relying on Russian energy, he recognizes it can’t be done.

When Biden was questioned about potential food shortages, he admitted the discussion did actually take place. “With regard to food shortage… it’s gonna be real,” Biden said, while admitting the price of the sanctions is not just going to surface in Russia and Europe but is likely to show up in other nations including the United States.

Don’t downplay the food shortage issue.  The absence of food can change things very quickly.  How the various national leaders respond to food shortages, and/or prices for food that makes food insecurity a very real issue, is an unknown.  However, a food crisis -and the subsequent solutions- could change the direction of many policies.

Call me crazy or whatever, but when you watch and listen to all of these NATO members either individually or collectively, you can get the distinct impression that they’re waiting on advice from some other organization and/or entity that usually provides them instructions.

Blackrock CEO Advances Proposal for Global Digital Payment System and Digital Currency

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on March 24, 2022

When CTH outlined the ‘Destination Handbasket’ framework {Go Deep}, we had no idea Blackrock CEO Larry Fink was essentially going to confirm the premise of our prediction.  Keep in mind, any digital currency can only work if there is a digital identity attributed to it – what some have called a digital passport which then creates a crypto wallet.

I have based the framework, of what appears to be over the horizon, on a set of inevitable geopolitical outcomes if the current path is continued.  The letter by Blackrock CEO Larry Fink [LINK] seems to affirm the strongest likelihood of a western-inspired digital currency eventually replacing the dollar.

NEW YORK, March 24 (Reuters) – BlackRock Inc’s (BLK.N) chief executive, Larry Fink, said on Thursday that the Russia-Ukraine war could end up accelerating digital currencies as a tool to settle international transactions, as the conflict upends the globalization drive of the last three decades.

In a letter to the shareholders of the world’s largest asset manager, Fink said the war will push countries to reassess currency dependencies, and that BlackRock was studying digital currencies and stablecoins due to increased client interest.

“A global digital payment system, thoughtfully designed, can enhance the settlement of international transactions while reducing the risk of money laundering and corruption”, he said.

[…] In the letter on Thursday, the chairman and CEO of the $10 trillion asset manager said the Russia-Ukraine crisis had put an end to the globalization forces at work over the past 30 years.

[…] “While companies’ and consumers’ balance sheets are strong today, giving them more of a cushion to weather these difficulties, a large-scale reorientation of supply chains will inherently be inflationary,” said Fink.

He said central banks were dealing with a dilemma they had not faced in decades, having to choose between living with high inflation or slowing economic activity to contain price pressures.  (read more)

You see that problem, that “dilemma” Fink mentions in the last paragraph above.  That is what we have been talking about on these pages for more than two years.   It is a dilemma western government created when they all joined together and followed the exact same financial path during the pandemic.

When western governments used the justification of the global pandemic to shut down their economies, enforce lockdowns and all of the subsequent rules, restrictions and economic pains as a direct result of those decisions, they put us on a crisis path that was always going to bring us to this “dilemma.”  Quite frankly, I do not see that unity of action as accidental, nor do I see it as organic.

All of the western leaders followed the same monetary and financial policy that was being advanced by the World Economic Forum.  They all spent like crazy, and provided tens-of-trillions in bailouts, subsidies and cash payments to cover the economic losses created by their COVID lockdowns.  They all did exactly the same thing, and that collective action is why we have ‘global inflation.’

Perversely, while inflation crushes the working class, global inflation works to their benefit by lowering the cost of the debt the politicians created, which the central bands and federal reserve facilitated.  We the citizens are suffering under inflation, but the governments that created the inflation actually benefit from it.

I will say with great deliberateness, these western governments want inflation.  Sure, it provides a political challenge for those who need to get reelected by voters, but in the bigger of big pictures, they need inflation.  Think about it in very simple terms.  If they did not want inflation, those same central banks and federal reserve policy makers would have raised interest rates six to eight months ago.

None of what is happening in supply chains and inflation is a surprise to them; they might pretend not to know, but these are not stupid people.  This is by design.  Media covers for them because, well, I’ll accept the PR firms for the regimes are idiots. However, the people who constructed these policies to take advantage of COVID-19 are not dummies.  They knew what all that intervention, manipulation and govt spending would lead to.

Where we are going now is a self-fulfilling prophecy, a destination that is a result of specific action the guided policymakers have taken.

Yes, in hindsight, all of it does seem planned to a long-term eventual conclusion.  However, I’m not going to make that specific affirmation just yet; there are still strong elements of ‘not letting a crisis go to waste’ as the leading driver.  Did these governing bodies create the underlying crisis?  We can debate that, but the point is essentially moot.  We are where we are.

The vaccination protocol created the Vax-Passport.  That has opened the door to the digital identity, “digital id.”   Any government created digital currency is going to need a digital id from the outset.

There are a lot of people asking where this is going, and what can be done to stop it.  I’m pretty certain we have accurately identified “Where This is Going,” and I’m a lot more confident now about that aspect than I was even just 24 hours ago.  However, knowing that, now we need to look closer at what they would do to stop us from disrupting it.

Should we Cheer for Putin to Lose?

Armstrong Economics Blog/Russia Re-Posted Mar 24, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

While the Neocon strategy of DEMONIZING an adversary as they have done to Putin, the very same strategy was used to get people to absolutely hate Donald Trump. The more someone hates Trump still, the more susceptible they are to simple techniques of mind manipulation. This has led many to cheer for the Ukrainians to defeat Russians and we have the White House calling Putin a War Criminal when you could say the same thing about the US leaders that started the endless saga of wars on false pretenses or took out civils with drones when they wrongly thought they were terrorists.

The White House appears to be under the influence of the Neocons who just always advocate war. Make no mistake about it, these Neocons are not confined to just the Democrats or Republicans. They share a love for war and the hatred of everyone they perceive to be an enemy. It’s tempting to think that Putin will suffer a defeat and democracy could revive in Russia, but a more likely scenario is total world chaos. Russia is also comprised of Muslims who number about 14 million or roughly 10% of the total population. Then there are different cultures and you will see internal chaos and separatist movements armed with nukes.

Putin is not a fool and he is actually honoring his word. He is not trying to conquer Ukraine. His column of tanks had stopped as a show of force and intimidation. He has not ordered just total annihilation. The US strategy is we go in and flatten everything targeting water and power grid. Put took the power station but did not turn off the power. The West portrays this as Putin is stalled and the Ukrainians could defeat the Russians. But this seems to be propaganda all designed to wear down the moral of the Russian troops and sway public opinion for Ukraine.

While the press also portrays that Putin’s nation has now been subjected to an isolation greater than any nation has ever experienced by any major power in history, it was US sanctions to cut off the fuel to Japan that caused them to attack Pearl Harbor. There were later even Congressional investigations into FDR and did he deliberately try to create a situation to get the USA into World War II. Congress simply said the allegations were inconclusive.

Since late February, Russia has been hit with punishing economic, trade and financial sanctions. Putin struck back and said all energy sales to unfriendly nations will now be in Rubles. Saudi Arabia also agreed with China to sell oil in Yuan. These are historically critical events that have torn the world economy asunder. There will NEVER BE A RETURN TO NORMAL.

So while the Western Press cheers and reports that Russia is careering toward a debt default, they forget that the default will be on the West. A very rapid technological decoupling is also underway dividing the world economy and that will threaten free trade and the end of economic growth. Indeed, US GDP Growth rate peaked in real terms.

The mass withdrawal of American firms from Russia will have a profoundly negative impact moving forward and the world economy is shrinking rapidly. Russia isn’t some weak power like Iraq. Russia is a major power whose population was, until recently, deeply connected to its larger global environment. The White House thinks that Russians will blame Putin rather than Biden. Eastern European states like Serbia and in the Middle East are looking at the United States as the problem being arrogant and interfering in everyone else’s affairs. It is without question that the United States has declare war on Russia. This is how World War II began with countries attacking one another in the financial markets.

So while the Neocons lick their lips at the thought of overturning Putin and controlling Russia before they turn on China, they are clearly not looking long-term. They took out Saddam Hussein who kept the religious zealots in their place. Once he was removed, the Middle East saw the rise of ISIS. The US has been covertly funding the Ukrainian Nazis to keep up their fight against Donbass.

Let us may no mistake here. The Neocons pushed and funded through the CIS the Taliban for then they were the anti-Soviet resistance. The CIA Special Activities Division sent paramilitary officers to equip the Mujihadeen forces against the Soviet Army. The US therefore funded Taliban mainly to assist in ending the Soviet’s occupation in Afghanistan. However, the Neocons can never think past the end of their nose. They have no long-term strategies, only win what is immediately in front of them. The taliban benefited from expanded foreign military support from the United States. They then used that training against US troops who were in search of terrorists from 911.

The foolish view among the Neocons is they think bringing Democracy to the Middle East or now to Russia and China will somehow make them friends or stable is an absolute joke. The idea of creating a “Moscow Spring” by punishing the Russian people until they do what the CIS and Neocons demand does not make the costs of conflict lead worth it. Marx brought his ideas and it cost over 200 million lives to install communism. America is hated for its interference by the Neocons in many circles.

Both China and Russia have American arrogance as a common enemy and the Russian or Chinese people will not send them flowers and Xmas cards thanking them for destroy everything they have built since 1989. However, RELIABLE sources in the Middle East, the UAE, Egypt and even Israel are angry over Biden’s sanctions. Yet the Neocons claim that total isolation forced regime change in South Africa. However, they also had no military power to fight back. That is like claiming a fight is fair with one kid has a rubber band and the other a baseball bat.

Somebody in Washington needs to start thinking strategically and realistically about this endeavor to isolate Russia for all that is unfolding at a rapid rate is the disintegration of the world economy. In 1989, then President George H.W. Bush understood there were serious risks with the collapse of the Soviet Union and Communism. Russia is big and powerful enough that its role in the world economy is vital to the overall health of the international order . The US NEEDS Russia as an economic friend not and adversary for nobody will win with that result.

The Western propaganda is that Russia and China represent authoritarian rule. However, Western governments are no better. Sure, we have elections but then the candidate arrives in Washington and they are told they will vote according to the Party Agenda rendering the image of free elections only just that. In Europe, the people do not vote for the Commission which makes the laws nor for the head of state. We do not live in a Democracy for the people never are allowed to vote on an issue like war or peace.

The likelihood of Putin being overthrown and Democracy is sudden born has less than a zero change of ever being correct.

Putin puts Biden’s King in Check

Armstrong Economics Blog/Euro € Re-Posted Mar 23, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

The absolute stupidity of those in the Biden Administration will go down in history as probably the dumbest ever in the history of the world, not just the United States. Besides disrupting energy supplies, and subjecting the world to a shortage of wheat when Russia and Ukraine represent 30% of the world exports, Biden’s sheer stupidity in just reading what his staff of climate zealots tell him is beyond belief. There is a crisis unfolding even in base metals like nickel.

Removing Russian banks from SWIFT but leaving the energy intact so Europe has power, was so brilliant they obviously never played chess. Putin just put Biden’s king in check by ordering Europe to pay for gas now in Rubles. That will provide support for the Ruble, and undermine Europe and its Euro as well as the dollar in the long run.

First of all, when Biden freezes all of Russia’s reserves, why would you continue to get paid in dollars that Biden could freeze? That makes no sense. This is why I warned that using SWIFT as a political tool would destroy the world economy. There is no putting this back together again. The foundation of TRUST has been lost.

What I would do if I were Putin is to create a two-tier monetary system like South Africa once had with the Financial Rand and Domestic Rand. What I would do to put Biden in Checkmate would be to back ONLY the domestic Ruble with gold to restore confidence among the Russian people, but leave the Ruble float for international transactions – the opposite of what FDR did in 1934.

Biden has destroyed the world economy. This is so devastating going forward, that what comes post-2032 when the world economy finally crashes and burns because of these idiots, there will be a whole new regime change on a global scale.

Government ALWAYS Act in their Own Self-Interest

Armstrong Economics Blog/Banking Crisis Re-Posted Mar 23, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

QUESTION: Hello Martin,

Hope your doing well, you spoke about keeping some money, outside of banks, do you see sterling paper money being cancelled by the bank of england, as they have already cancelled old £5/£10/£20/£50 and £1 coins, you have to bring them to the bank an exchange for new plastic type paper currency,my question is if you have some set aside do you think they would cancel outright or would they make you declare, if things get sticky, or would you be safer keeping in bank, for there is some insurance scheme up to £75 0r £85k, one named account, not that would effect me in the amounts, can you advise should I maybe bring some US dollars into piggy bank, much obliged, for your help will go towards helping my parents/family extended family circle, I just buried my mother a week ago, so my dad’s a bit all over the place, he has a few £1000’s, has difficulty putting money in banks/post office and questions and restrictions getting money out, they shut the last bank down in November, he lives in a town of 10,000 pop, has to travel to the city, not up to that now, any insight would be gratefully appreciated.he lives in the north of Ireland.
EP

ANSWER: Britain does cancel its currency. That allows the government to take that direction. The difference with the US dollar is that it has never been canceled and it would take an Act of Congress. Trudeau is Canada interestingly passed an Act to give him the authority to cancel paper ,oney. He did cancel the old notes as well.

While the US replaced the $100 bill, the old one is still valid. Since 70% of the US paper dollars reside outside the USA for they are the hedge against various governments, the Democrats would love to cancel the currencies following the same Marxist agenda that cash is EVIL.

In this atmosphere where Biden just reads the teleprompter and there are serious concerns in DC about his mental ability going forward, this means we really do NOT know who is running the show. All I can say is that demands, policies, and tactics are the hallmark of Neocons.  They have achieved their dream of controlling the White House. They have never allowed a day to go by without plotting how to conquer the world.

Unfortunately, The British pound is called “sterling” meaning it was once one power of sterling silver. Even in 1953, Britain had abandoned silver in its coinage. They struck coins in Cupro-Nickel. So it is hard to do the same as an American can do, hoard the old pre-1965 silver coins. When Roosevelt confiscated gold during 1934, that meant whatever you had on deposit in a bank was taken. He did not go door to door searching for gold coins. So keep that in mind that the banks will do whatever they are ordered to do. They are not on your side. They must be loyal to the state to retain their license.

You may want to look at British sovereigns, which are just under a quarter ounce of gold. Just keep it to the common dates, circulated is fine. You are not looking to be a rare coin collector. At least when Germany was going through its hyperinflation, people were able to hoard foreign currencies as well as tangible assets that included land, art, rare coins and stamps, and even old cars. Anything that is not relying on government and is not in some official storage that the government can seize. For they will also act ALWAYS in their own self interest.

Zelensky Keeps Trying to Create WWIII

Armstrong Economics Blog/Ukraine Re-Posted Mar 23, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

QUESTION #1: When I read today that while addressing the Italian Parliament, Zelensky reported that the Russians were “capturing and torturing children” my propaganda antenna went up and the BS detector went off. If true, that is atrocious and a war crime. Putin is crazy but that seems hard to fathom. It would seem like good propaganda for Zelensky to use to prompt NATO to get involved (which as you have noted repeatedly would surely start WW III). Maybe it is Zelensky’s Hail Mary pass?

Anyway, what were your thoughts when this was reported and what do you hear from your Ukrainian sources on this topic? Is this true?

RW

QUESTION #2: Marty, I find it amazing that your computer pinpoint Ukraine back in 2013. But you also said when this started that it would not be a quick in and out event. Then you said it was Zelensky who would create World War III. OK. I watched Zelensky address the Italian Parliament. He said Russian were torturing children. He is trying to paint Russians as animals. Zelensky keeps saying a lot of shit and it is all to send the world into war that will be nuclear. This man is pure evil. Do you have any timeline worked out yet?

RG

QUESTION #3: How can the West support Ukraine when you have doctors ordering that Russian soldiers who are prisoners of war should be castrated? I’m sorry. But I see this as the pot calling the kettle black.

OP

COMMENT #4: Zelensky Says He Wants Talks With Putin, Failure Means ‘Third World War’My Comment: No, it doesn’t Zelensky.
What it means is a Third World War of Words and Pictures equal to failure-failure. It’s a ‘Vietnam’ of no win-win for both.I watched the CNN GPS Zelensky interview too and was aghast at the war commercial produced by Zelensky’s ‘Dogs of War’ to romanticize and legitimize his demagoguery. It reminded me of the 1984 Apple commercial. Zelensky’s commercial is embellished with platitudes that reveal the naïve approach he’s taken with Ukraine and the lives of innocent Ukrainians. The mind behind the “The Third World War” scapegoat. There won’t be any last man standing to credit with victory. There will only be repentance and regret that you Zelensky broke faith with established agreements. Anyone who encourages Zelensky in this kind behaviour encourages a man who believes he’s more than what he is.….

I read the Toronto Star’s Saturday March 19, 2022 Edition, Front Page article ‘What drove them” by Justin Ling.

My Comment: Referring to ‘Klaus Schwab/WEF’ as a conspiracy theory brings into question the rest of what has been written in the article including Justin Ling’s ability to understand what he is writing about. ‘Klaus Schwab/WEF’ is not a conspiracy. It’s a fact. To use a newsie phrase from the past “READ ALL ABOUT IT!” It’s all there in plain sight to read and understand.

COMMENT #5: The madman is not Putin, it is Zelensky. Why should this man sacrifice my family here in Ohio for his hatred of Russians? If anyone should be assassinated, it is Zelensky to save the world.

KH

COMMENT #6: I could never fully understand why Americans hated Russia so much. In 1991, when I was 17 years old, a senior in high school, I traveled to Russia with a group of classmates in my economics class just as the USSR fell. I actually saw them change the flag from USSR to Russia. I remembered thinking this must be an important moment to witness in history.I never felt threatened while there. And I was very intrigued by the Russian winter swimmers called “walruses” who would swim in the ice cold water. They would practice all year in ice-cold baths, and I thought to myself wow, that really takes a lot of discipline to do that.

The Hermitage museum was absolutely gorgeous with the malachite columns and gold-leafed crown molding. We visited many major tourist destinations such as St Basil Cathedral, the Hermitage Museum, Moscow, saw Swan Lake, and ate at restaurants.  We stayed through New Years and because Russia at that time did not have an age-limit for drinking that served us copious amounts of vodka that my classmates happily drank and got drunk. I stayed sober…was not interested in getting drunk or drinking vodka, but it was interesting to see this American teenagers celebrating New Years in Russia.

Even though I think we saw probably the best parts of Russia, I felt Russia was a poor country when we visited. A few young children ran up to us begging for money, and there was just a lack of variety of foods to eat and things to buy at the shopping malls. Remnants of a communist country. Moscow was so bland and stark. And it was very cold, but I bought a Russian wool hat, which I loved wearing around. It was so warm!

Ever since then I followed Russia on and off, and with the fall of communism there it was very interesting to see their change and development in the arts and culture. I liked Maria Sharapova, tennis player, and I befriended a Korean-Russian while I lived in Korea during 1998. She was a Russian-born Korean and only spoke Russian and Korean. Fascinating to meet someone like that.

I thought it was always the idea of communism versus capitalism that Americans were at odds with, that Americans were in favor of freedom and democracy. I understand you, it is tragic to see what is happening in America. Americans really are no longer to good guys today with the election fraud. When Joe Biden took office, I literally cried (shed tears).

But you know, the sun comes up every day and when the sun shines, I feel happy. I try to do my part and not hate Russians. I find the country interesting. It is hard to see the other side when there is so much propaganda. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and insights on what is going on in the world. You do so much good. Your thoughts are very much needed in today’s world.

Thank you.
SH

COMMENT #7: Now Biden is out saying the US must lead the new world order. Someone had better arrest the people writing these words he is reading.

DF

ANSWER: I am sorry, but Zelensky is an actor who even played a president. He was hired to bring the world to war and has done NOTHING that he promised to get elected. The audacity to claim he should get the Noble Peace Prize is just propaganda when he has put not just Ukraine at risk, but the world for insisting on joining NATO in violation of the Belgrade Agreement, and then refusing to allow Donbass to hold elections while claiming Putin is against democracy is the ultimate hypocrisy.

Claiming Russians are torturing children is just over the top. Nobody, even Hitler, Napoleon, Stalin, or the Genghis Khan has ever tortured little children. Then for the Ukrainian doctor to order Russian prisoners should be castrated is a violation of every convention on war and confirm the hatred of Ukrainian Nazis to just exterminate Russians is alive and well.

It is this hatred that Zelensky is pouring out to the whole world that they are now even removing Yuri Gagarin’s (1934 – 1968)  name from history as the first man in space because he was Russian? He died in 1968. This is the real evil – raw hatred being created by this actor. When the final chapter is written, it is Zelensky who has torn the world apart deliberately. He keeps threatening World War III because of his hatred of all Russians which is why he refuses to allow the Donbass to separate.

Zelensky has sacrificed his own people for his hatred of Russian people and this deliberate absurd position of joining NATO and refusing to allow the Donbass to become an independent republic. Ukraine was merely a border drawn during the Soviet Union. This is not even about the sovereignty of a nation. Neither Crimea nor Donbass are occupied by Ukrainians – they have always been ethnically Russian.

Many in Ukraine feel Zelensky is a puppet of the CIA, WEF, or the Ukrainian Nazis depending upon who you talk to. What is clear, he has done nothing to prevent war and does appear to exaggerate everything constantly threatening World War III to create it. He wants to engulf the entire world because of his hatred of Russians – not Putin alone.

Those who support Zelensky should take a look at their children. Are you prepared to see them killed and their future destroyed for this actor in high heels pretending to be a world leader?

Newsweek Shift – Maybe Putin Not So Bad, He Could Devastate Ukraine, but Putin Is Holding Back

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on March 23, 2022

Well, this is weird.  After weeks of the horrible Putin narrative, Newsweek softens the tone, perhaps sees a larger landscape where Russia is working strategically though a plan and says, “Putin’s Bombers Could Devastate Ukraine but He’s Holding Back.”  Wait, what?

According to the anonymous Newsweek sources – intelligence officials who fear speaking publicly for fear of severe repercussions – it would be very easy for Vladimir Putin to level the key cities and industries in Ukraine, but he’s not doing it.

The strategy Newsweek is seemingly beginning to admit is the same strategy Col Douglas Macgregor has been speaking about.

(Newsweek) – As destructive as the Ukraine war is, Russia is causing less damage and killing fewer civilians than it could, U.S. intelligence experts say.

Russia’s conduct in the brutal war tells a different story than the widely accepted view that Vladimir Putin is intent on demolishing Ukraine and inflicting maximum civilian damage—and it reveals the Russian leader’s strategic balancing act. […] Understanding the thinking behind Russia’s limited attacks could help map a path towards peace, experts say.

In nearly a month since Russia invaded, dozens of Ukrainian cities and towns have fallen, and the fight over the country’s largest cities continues. United Nations human rights specialists say that some 900 civilians have died in the fighting (U.S. intelligence puts that number at least five times UN estimates). About 6.5 million Ukrainians have also become internally displaced (15 percent of the entire population), half of them leaving the country to find safety.

“The destruction is massive,” a senior analyst working at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) tells Newsweek, “especially when compared with what Europeans and Americans are used to seeing.”

But, the analyst says, the damage associated with a contested ground war involving peer opponents shouldn’t blind people to what is really happening. (The analyst requested anonymity in order to speak about classified matters.) “The heart of Kyiv has barely been touched. And almost all of the long-range strikes have been aimed at military targets.” (read more)

What the article boils down to is an acceptance, albeit couched in the U.S/NATO narrative, that Vladimir Putin is working through a careful and methodical plan to eliminate –with extreme prejudice– one severe faction of the Ukraine military (Azov battalion Nazis), and yet carefully and surgically leave intact the areas of greatest population.

The capture of Ukraine, with as little damage as possible, while eliminating the elements with the connections to western government manipulation, appears to be the process.   This, in addition to the removal of the Zelenskyy government, is what Macgregor has been pointing out from the beginning.

Putin seemingly plans to rebuild most of eastern Ukraine (closest to Russia) where a civil war has been ongoing for over a decade. That region is also the location of the most ultranationalist of the Ukraine forces, so the military targeting has been severe in that area.

With the sanctions and western intelligence efforts of the State Dept./CIA, and western economic group appearing to have little impact, perhaps the media is starting to realize the conflict in Ukraine is more complex and thought out than fits the current western media narrative.

End of Petro-Dollar Begins, Russia Instructs Central Bank to Organize Payments From Hostile Countries in Rubles

The EU has few options as they are reliant upon Russia for energy products oil and gas.  If Putin organizes payment in rubles, his currency will automatically increase.  This sets the stage for other less hostile countries like the BRICS alliance to assist Putin ideologically and financially by transacting in rubles through the Russian central bank.

(Oil and Gas) – […] Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that Russia would start charging the countries it considers “hostile” in rubles for its natural gas.

“I have taken a decision to switch to ruble payments for our natural gas supplies to the so-called hostile states, stop using the compromised currencies in such transactions,” Putin said, per a transcript published on the Kremlin website as carried by Bloomberg.

The Russian President—whose list of “hostile” states includes the United States, all EU member states, Switzerland, Canada, Norway, South Korea, Japan, and many others – has ordered the Bank of Russia, the central bank, to develop a system for payments in rubles within a week.

“At the same time, I want to emphasize that Russia will definitely continue to supply natural gas in line with the volumes and prices, pricing mechanisms set forth in the existing contracts,” Putin said at a government meeting today.

It makes no sense for Russia to export goods to the EU or the United States in U.S. dollars or euros, Putin added.  (more)

It will be interesting to see how quickly they can get this up and running.

Ukraine & the Nightmare

Armstrong Economics Blog/Ukraine Re-Posted Mar 22, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

One must wonder when Zelensky will stop sacrificing his people for no reason. He has done his best to drag the world into World War III trying to visit devastation upon the entire world. Both China and Russia have supersonic missiles. The US has admitted that China’s supersonic missile flew around the world and then hit its target. The US has been unable to create an evilalent and these type of weapons are FIRST STRIKE meaning they cannot be defeated.

This is not about supporting Zelensky v Putin. This is about preventing World War III. For indeed, as Einstein said, he did not know what weapons would exist for World War III. We are witnessing that with supersonic missiles and biological weapons that can terminate specific ethnic groups on a grand scale (see latest James Bond Movie). But Einstein imagined that World War IV would be fought with sticks and stones.

Zelensky went on Ukrainian television channels and said he would be willing to discuss a commitment from Ukraine to not seek NATO membership in exchange for a cease-fire, the withdrawal of Russian troops and a guarantee of Ukraine’s security. While that complies with the Belgrade Agreement of 1991 when Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons promising to not join NATO and remain neutral, he is still refusing to comply with the Minsk Agreement of 2014 where he was to honor the democratic right of the Donbas to vote on their own sovereignty since they were Russians and Ukraine was merely created by the Soviet Union in drawing borders.

Zelensky said: “It’s a compromise for everyone: for the West, which doesn’t know what to do with us with regard to NATO, for Ukraine, which wants security guarantees, and for Russia, which doesn’t want further NATO expansion.”

Why he just refuses to comply with the Minsk Agreement seems to be a matter of Ukrainian Nazi pride that they simply hated Russians, Jews, and everyone in Poland? The refusal to allow democratic solutions in Ukraine appears to be instigated by the American Neocons have been pushing for war since they instigated the Cuba Missile Crisis with the failed Bay of Pigs. Cuba then struck a deal with Russia for nuclear weapons to prevent the Neocons from invading Cuba again. It has long been suspected that Kennedy was assassinated for standing up against the Neocons.

The hypocrisy of the Neocons is just in your face. On March 21st, 2022, spokesman Ned Price for the State Department said in justifying war against Russia: ” the principle that each and every country has a sovereign right to determine its own foreign policy, has a sovereign right to determine for itself with whom it will choose to associate in terms of its alliances, its partnerships, and what orientation it wishes to direct its gaze. In this case, Ukraine has chosen a democratic path, a path – a Western-looking path, and that is something that, clearly, President Putin was not willing to countenance.”

The problem is that Ukraine was never a sovereign nation that ever included Donbass or Crimea. It border was simply drawn by the Soviet Union. Let those regions that were ethnically Russian be their own Republics. This has nothing to do with what is right or wrong. This is simply about the hatred of Russia fueled by the Neocons.

The Neocons had no problem violating that very principle with the excuse to invade Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, their attempted invasion justification against Syria and Cuba. Allowing Ukraine to join NATO would be no different than Russia supplying nukes to Cuba. Perhaps these Neocons were addicted to Battleship as kids and then want to play that on a real world level. The scary part is that both China and Russia have their versions of Neocons who are all striving to create World War III.

Then Japan wonders why after following the West down this Neocon rat hole imposing sanction on Russia, why would Russia then break off all peace treaty talks with Japan? Do we have the same level of incompetent Japanese politicians as in the rest of the West? Are all of these politicians plain outright stupid? Do they really think they can punish Russia and there will be no response? I have never in my 40 year career dealing with governments have I EVER witnessed such incompetence.

The Plot Behind the Curtain

Armstrong Economics Blog/Geopolitical Re-Posted Mar 22, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

QUESTION: Mr. Armstrong, I have a serious question for you. Do you think that Putin was lured into this mess by people trying to change the world? I will leave it at that.

GB

ANSWER: Yes. I cannot believe that Harris’ off-the-cuff statement at the Munich Security Meeting that Ukraine should join NATO was simply a stupid mistake on her part. She is not the brightest bulb in DC, but I believe IF this was a mistake, the White House would have instantly recharacterized what she said to make sure Putin would not take it that they were advocating violating the Belgrade Agreement where Ukraine was to remains neutral. Based on why I know, Harris is not even familiar with maps. I believe she was “handled” and told to advocate that by someone there who intentionally wanted to start this conflict. Both Harris and Biden will simply say what they are told and I fear the Neocons have taken over the White House.

There is no NATIONAL SECURITY interest for the United States in Ukraine. Everyone just chooses sides, but nobody asks the question why should the entire world go to war, which will turn nuclear, over Ukraine as they did over the Balkans in WWI? The US is not even strategically threatened if Putin took all of Ukraine.

Americans are foolish and think this is some video game and they can watch the US beat Putin like this is Monday night football. This time there are nuclear weapons and a Russian Stealth Sub can surface just miles offshow and launch against 160 targets in a matter of minutes. EVERY Administration has always sought peace UNTIL now! So go ahead and cheer for the destruction of Putin. Just be very careful for what you with for. War simulations with China have also warned that American can lose and very fast.

Biden keeps claiming that Russia is losing. He said the launch of its hypersonic missile in Ukraine over the weekend was a sign of desperation rather than testing the weapon real time. He then threatened China that if they supported Putin, they would suffer the same sanctions. Biden then says that Putin’s may launch cyberattacks against the US and use chemical weapons in Ukraine next because his “back is against the wall.”

If this is true, why not try to clam things down when we know Putin does not believe in retreat? We have only cheerleaders for war – no peacemakers. All of this because Ukraine refused to let the Donbas be independent in a democratic process and vote? You do not push Putin against the wall and then claim he is a madman. If Putin was really a madman, he would nuke Ukraine and then what? There is an intended agenda here and it smells like intentional war. Must we all die because Neocons simply hate Russians and Chinese?

It remains questionable why Putin is holding back. He has the power station and could turn off the power, but he has not. Reports keep saying the Russians are stalled about 15 miles from Kyiv. Poland has put its forces on alert as Russian and Belarusian forces are likely to deploy on the Polish-Ukrainian border to close all cargo routes to Kyiv. That is the typical siege strategy which tends to imply he wants a surrender rather than to flatten Kyiv.

Putin, I believe, was lured into his invasion knowing his chief complaint has been the constant eastward movement of NATO. That does not make him a victim. There are no good guys. Both sides fight for their own self-interest precisely as in economics – i.e. Adam Smith’s Invisible Hand. What he did not expect was this onslaught of attacks against all Russians and the sanctions that have effectively cut off Russia from the West. This is intended to put so much pressure on Russia that they storm the Kremlin and behead him or some drastic event of that nature. But now, the hatred is against all Russians as a race. This is the dream of Ukrainian Nazis.

Lindsey Graham has gone way too far even for a Neocon calling for the assassination of Putin. He better start watching his own ass in my opinion for as they say what goes around comes around. Putin would be justifies in trying to do the same to Biden if he was really the brains behind this mess. I’m sure there are Russians in the USA undercover who could carry out such an order.

Worse still, if you were China and you just watched what the West has done to Russia, you would be wise never to trust doing business with the West again. You certainly would count your fingers after shaking hands knowing that they could quickly do the same to you. This is certainly why China is moving rapidly to get its own alternative to SWIFT and Saudi Arabia has just agreed to join selling oil to them in Yuan.

Then for the Ukrainian Intelligence to put out a story claiming there is a Russian group of Russian elites were allegedly conspiring to overthrow Putin and “restore economic ties” with the West. They are posting this on Facebook post from the Chief Directorate of Intelligence for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Obviously, this is pure propaganda for if this were true, they would not warn Putin. Instead, they are putting out disinformation hoping someone will believe it and think they will be a hero. They are even putting out the name Alexander Bortnikov, the Russian Director of the Federal Security Service, will become his successor to the president. It is highly unlikely that they would prefer Bortnikov.

Back in a December 2017, an open letter published by Kommersant, where more than 30 Russian academics criticized Bortnikov for attempting to legitimize the Stalin’s Great Purge. He would be far more aggressive than Putin. So it seems to be disinformation in hopes that Putin would believe it and eliminate Bortnikov clearing the way for their true desired target to head Russia.

Ah! The Games people play!

Think Twice if not three times before you just CHEER for the defeat of Russia.

There is no retreat in Putin’s mind and doing away with him will only confirm to all Russians that the West is not to be TRUSTED.

Is this the future you really want for your children and grandchildren?
