Brussels has More Power Than Rome – Italy Balks at Climate Change Agenda

Italy’s new PM, Giorgia Meloni, is learning that she cannot pick and choose what policies Italy would like to adopt from the ruling authority in the European Union. I was willing to give Meloni the benefit of the doubt after she rose to power from virtually nowhere as a perceived anti-establishment, right-winged nationalist candidate who was neither a fascist nor neo-fascist, who rose to power from virtually nowhere. Unfortunately, she has been compromised by the Neocon agenda, perhaps a bit naïve as she is a newcomer. However, Meloni is a nationalist and has begun to realize that Brussels has more authority than Rome.

The EU is pushing full speed ahead to meet climate initiatives, and they would like to ban the sale of new fossil fuel cars by 2035. Meloni believes that emissions should be reduced, but said the near 10-year plan “makes no sense,” and believes the green agenda is “pursued even at the cost of sacrificing entire production and industrial sectors, such as the automotive industry.” She stated that these measures would not only cripple the industrial sector and automotive agency, but it would cause Europe to become dependent on foreign nations. Those same foreign nations will see a boost in their workforce as well as Europe will lose thousands of positions due to lost industries.

Europe became more dependent on foreign nations for energy in general after the ruling authority at the EU blindly adopted green initiatives. Meloni does not understand that supporting Ukraine against Russia is tied into the need for foreign energy dependence. Europe shot itself in the foot by losing Russian energy, not to mention the entire Nord Stream disaster. They can say they no longer need Russian exports but Europe is still purchasing Russian gas, albeit from middlemen like India at a marked-up price. The billions utterly wasted on Ukraine will never be reinvested into Europe.

The climate change agenda destroyed America’s energy independence. There are fewer sources for the West as a whole to rely on for energy now. Meloni called the climate change agenda “ideological madness,” but she must realize that the climate change agenda is tied into this push for the next world war. The EU does not want to default on its debt and this push for war is a way to ensure it is swept under the rug. Climate change initiatives, global conflicts, the coming push for digital currencies – all of this was laid out plain as day in the plans for the Great Reset. This is not the first time Meloni has dissented with the EU-World Economic Forum partnership as she rejected the woke agenda in an attempt to preserve Italy’s Catholic roots.

Climate change is not an isolated issue as it directly connects to plans to change the global economy and civilization as a whole. It was distressing to see Rome on my last visit as countless shops and restaurants I previously frequented have permanently shuttered since the pandemic lockdowns that were also a direct order of EU policies.

It is my hope that Meloni begins to step away from the Neocon agenda and focus on Italy’s economic issues. Socrates indicates that Italy is heading into a recession, and we saw the Italian share market crash one week after the Economic Model Confidence Model target of May 7. The fiscal mismanagement of Italy and the EU as a whole is simply unsustainable and the repercussions will be felt.

Italy’s Days Ahead

While we must first go through some hard times, we will NEVER reform until most people see that this is NOT going in the right direction. It is unbelievable. I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who rose to power from virtually nowhere. People were fed up with the BS of career politicians and the collapse of so many businesses and turned to a fresh face who was not a fascist or even a neo-fascist. She’s a right-wing populist-nationalist of a type who seems to be naive and has been conquered by the Neocon agenda. She is more likely to engulf Italy in World War III, but that seems to be the European Agenda as a distraction from the crisis unfolding, and the Euro is drowning in fiscal mismanagement.

The Italian share market began to crash one week after the turn in the Economic Confidence Model on May 7th. The major resistance stands at the 35000 level, and that is where the bounce effectively hits a wall of resistance. Meloni’s insane comment that Russia will be forced to surrender if the Kremlin does not agree to the terms of peace that the EU dictates to Russia is just unimaginable. According to Meloni, she made this comment during the broadcast of the second plenary session of the peace summit.

“Defending Ukraine means uniting all the efforts of the international community to protect Ukraine. If Russia does not agree to Ukraine’s terms, we will force it to surrender. We need to set the minimum conditions for this discussion.”

Her total lack of experience is precisely what the Neocons have counted on. She has joined the cheerleaders for World War III and the audacity, if not total ignorance, of the fact that it was the West and Kyiv that started this war intentionally to force Putin into World War III so they could conquer Russia and engage in genocide. Ukraine is the MOST disgusting, corrupt, and untrustworthy country on the face of this planet, and they WILL use whatever means to start World War III.

I apologize to those in Rome that I could not stay longer to meet with Meloni, which many wanted to arrange. But based on her recent comments, it is clear that the Neocons would have told her not to meet with me anyway. She has joined the warmongering crowd. I just hope this was not the last time I will ever see the Roman Forum.

These failed leaders, who are clearly incompetent to drive a taxi, are steering the world into World War III. This insane confrontation with Russia appears to be heating up in July. Putin is the ONLY adult in the room. He desperately keeps warning is this where you want to go?

I have always loved Rome. I was surprised at how many restaurants I used to go to have been closed and driven out of business thanks to COVID-19. Sorry to inform Italian readers, but you are headed into a recession, and with Giorgia Meloni taking directions from the Neocons instead of addressing the economic issues, we have the worst crop of leaders in modern history around the globe all hell-bent on creating war. Instead of being neutral, she has thrown Italy into the target zone.

Meloni Responds to Migrant Crisis

Armstrong Economics Blog/International News Re-Posted Sep 19, 2023 by Martin Armstrong

Italian PM Giorgia Meloni announced that Italy will begin cracking down on illegal immigration in the wake of the Lampedusa invasion. The small fishing island of Lampedusa in Sicily has seen its population double this month after countless African migrants arrived on shore. Meloni promised a tough stance on migration during her campaign yet illegal immigration to Italy has doubled in the past year. EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen went to Sicily with Meloni to discuss the situation.

To curtail the flow of refugees, the Italian government will not detain illegal migrants for up to 18 months. “We will decide who comes to the European Union, and under what circumstances. Not the smugglers,” Von der Leyen said. The EU under former German Chancellor Angela Merkel opened up the floodgates of refugees many years ago when claiming Europe was a safe haven for asylum seekers. People from throughout the second and third world have since found their way to Europe. Other EU nations are looking at the situation in Italy and realizing their borders will be next.

French interior minister Gerald Darmanin said that it is France’s responsibility to “help our Italian friends.” It is also their responsibility to let those wishing to illegally enter Europe that they are not welcome. ‘’Our will is to fully welcome those who should be welcomed, but we should absolutely send back those who have no reason to be in Europe,” he said, noting that there was no particular reason for these people to claim political asylum.

I mentioned that these migrants are primarily military-aged men traveling alone. They are using an old military strategy where they dock their boats in rapid succession to overwhelm the Italian coastguard. There is more to this situation and a reason that the first world is being bombarded with migrants. The Italian Navy may be deployed to guard the waters with North Africa if the crisis worsens. “It does not make sense to trust traffickers, because they will take a lot of money, put you on a boat that is unfit for the journey and once you get here you will be detained and sent back,” Meloni pleaded.

Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni sounds slightly less nationalist and slightly more globalist in this interview as she discusses the current challenges for Italy within the European Union.  With a large focus on the African continent, mostly driven by root cause illegal immigration, Prime Minister Meloni outlines how supporting the African economic needs are a pragmatic solution to the outflow of migrants. {Direct Rumble Link} – WATCH:

Meloni Set to Abolish Italy’s Welfare State

Armstrong Economics Blog/Italy Re-Posted Nov 25, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

Italy’s new PM Giorgia Meloni revealed her first economic initiatives with a budget of 21 billion euros. The Italian government will no longer provide free handouts to those who simply refuse to work. This should not be controversial.

For starters, anyone eligible for welfare must actually reside in Italy. Those capable of working will have eight months to find employment before their free paycheck runs out. Alternatively, if someone refuses a job, they will be excluded from receiving welfare. The 5-Star’s citizens’ wage will be abolished by next year as the system has been abused by many who simply do not want to work. They are reviewing the pension system as well, but it’s too late to save the pension funds.

Italy’s first female PM is also encouraging couples to start families amid a birth rate crisis. Women may take a sixth month of maternity leave and still receive 80% of their salary. Meloni cut taxes on goods for newborns and feminine hygiene. Couples will receive a 50% increase in the “baby bonus,” and families with over three children will receive more incentives. Italy needs future taxpayers.

Everyone cheered when America appointed its first female vice president, but Kamala Harris has done nothing for women who still pay the pink tax and do not have access to maternity leave. It is astonishing how controversial this move has become with the papers calling Meloni a Fascist dictator for preventing working taxpayers from paying for those unemployed by choice.

Berlusconi and Putin

Armstrong Economics Blog/Italy Re-Posted Oct 24, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has close ties to Vladimir Putin. Berlusconi, leader of the Forza Italia party, now serves as a junior partner under new PM Giorgia Meloni. Meloni fiercely supports Ukraine, but leaked audio indicates where Berlusconi stands.

“I can’t personally give my opinion because if it is told to the press it will turn out to be a disaster, but I am very, very, very worried. I rekindled relations with President Putin, a little bit. I knew him as a peaceful and sensible person,” the former PM said in a leaked audio recording. He also said in the recording that Russian ministers believe they are at war with the West because of the funding to Ukraine.

How close are the two men? Well, Berlusconi sent Putin a duvet cover depicting a picture of them together as a gift for Putin’s 65th birthday. Putin recently sent Berlusconi numerous bottles of vodka for his 86th birthday, sparking outrage from European leaders. Before Meloni was elected, Berlusconi appeared on TV (see video above) and said that Russia had been “pushed” to invade Ukraine and that the goal was to replace Zelensky’s government with “decent people.”

Now Meloni is doubling down on her support for Ukraine and threatening to remove Berlusconi. “Whoever isn’t in agreement with this cornerstone, will not be able to be part of the government, even if it means no government,” she said.

While the people do not take Berlusconi very seriously, no one wants war. There is civil unrest throughout the Western world taking place as the people see the inevitable outcome. Our computer indicates that civil unrest will spike massively going into 2023. For now, anyone showing sympathy toward Moscow will be shunned. That may change as people grow to resent Zelensky for pushing their country into war.
