Sri Lanka Inflation and Food Crisis Results in Widespread Social Chaos

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on April 4, 2022 | Sundance

I have stated for the past year ‘the absence of food will change things‘.   The inflation and food affordability crisis has now surfaced in Sri Lanka. Global media is paying attention, even sending out warnings about what this might represent for other nations.

Sri Lanka has a debt to GDP ratio of 120%, approximately the same as the United States.  However, Sri Lanka does not have the benefit of their currency being supported as the global trade currency; therefore, the debt and domestic inflation rate are directly tied together.

The rate of food inflation in March has exceeded 30%…. the absence of the public being able to afford food has now surfaced and the government is collapsing.  Read the news from Sri Lanka through the prism of what could happen in U.S. cities if we lose the dollar as the global trade currency.

(Via Reuters) – Reuters Breakingviews) – Sri Lanka’s collapse is front of mind for many. Protesters fed up with crippling shortages of essential food and fuel items are on the streets, prompting multiple members of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s cabinet to offer to resign late on Sunday.

Social unrest will probably accelerate a restructuring of some $44 billion of international sovereign debt. Though Sri Lanka’s problems follow years of mismanagement, its speedy unravelling is a warning to sturdier economies from Europe to Asia suddenly grappling with a spike in the cost of living.

A current account crisis read more has intensified after the West fired its sanctions bazooka at Russia as punishment for its invasion of Ukraine. Rolling blackouts and a state of emergency are frightening away remaining tourists, a crucial source of foreign exchange. Food inflation hit an eye-watering 30.2% in March.

The currency’s 40% depreciation against the U.S. dollar in one month, including a central bank managed devaluation, is blowing out leverage ratios: Public debt estimated by the International Monetary Fund at 120% of GDP is perhaps some 40 percentage points more than might be deemed sustainable, guesses Citi.

[…] It’s a reminder of the political implications of high prices. Prior to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, few Asian countries had consumer inflation in double digits. The standouts were Sri Lanka and Pakistan, whose Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday dodged a no-confidence vote and called fresh elections. Poorer countries are more vulnerable to surging global food prices because their populations spend more on food than discretionary items. (read more)

Food inflation in Sri Lanka reached 30%…. things start immediately collapsing.

Consider the recent projected rate of food inflation in the United States (wave 2, this summer):

Biden Accuses Putin of War Crimes in Bucha, Ukraine

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on April 4, 2022 | Sundance

Following the script written by the State Dept and CIA, the installed White House occupant calls for a criminal trial against Russian President Vladimir Putin for war crimes in Ukraine.  A person can only naturally surmise that whatever the U.S. was/is doing in Ukraine before and after the Russian ‘special military option’, must be of such consequence that the DoS/CIA are willing to risk taking us into a NATO war over it.

[White House Transcript] – “THE PRESIDENT:  I have one comment to make before I start the day.  You may remember I got criticized for calling Putin a war criminal.  Well, the truth of the matter — you saw what happened in Bucha.  This warrants him — he is a war criminal.

But we have to gather the information, we have to continue to provide Ukraine with the weapons they need to continue the fight, and we have to get all the detail so this can be an actual — have a wartime trial.

This guy is brutal.  And what’s happening in Bucha is outrageous, and everyone’s seen it.

I’ll — I’ll —

Q    Do you agree that it’s genocide?

THE PRESIDENT:  No, I think it is a war crime.

Q    What are you going to do about it, sir?  Are you going to do more sanctions on Russia?

THE PRESIDENT:  I’m seeking more sanctions, yes.  I’ll have time to announce that to you.

Q    Can you actually hold Putin accountable, though?  You called him a war criminal.

THE PRESIDENT:  He should be held accountable.

QCan you actually hold him accountable without sanctions?

THE PRESIDENT:  Well, no —

Q    What else can you do?

THE PRESIDENT:  No, no — go — go — the war crimes tri- — yes, I’m going to continue to add sanctions.

Thank you.

Q    What kind of sanctions, Mr. President?  What are you thinking?

THE PRESIDENT:  I’ll let you know.

The Reedy Creek Improvement District

Armstrong Economics Blog/Politically Correct Re-Posted Apr 4, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

Are you familiar with the Reedy Creek Improvement District? Perhaps you have heard of Disney. A 1967 piece of legislation permitted Disney to operate independently from the government. That’s right – Congress awarded Disney with special privileges to operate above the law:

“The district encompasses approximately 25,000 acres in both Orange and Osceola counties, servicing 19 landowners, including Walt Disney Co. and its wholly-owned affiliates. RCID operates in accordance with its Charter and Chapter 189, Florida Statutes, The Uniform Special Districts Accountability Act.”

Their special privileges have come under scrutiny in recent years as Disney dealt with the coronavirus separately from the state of Florida. However, the company is now intent on preserving the woke agenda and defying state law by acting as a moral guardian. Former Disney CEO Bob Iger said he plans to continue fighting Governor DeSantis on the Parental Rights in Education bill. “It’s about right and wrong,” Iger told reporters at CNN while denying that his opposition had any political backing.

Their woke message bit them at their last shareholder meeting where CEO Bob Chapek stated he would actively seek to oppose the bill. They were accused of turning a blind eye to the Uyghur camps in China. “Disney executives say they will not release any new films in Russia due to Vladimir Putin’s aggression against Ukraine. Since when do ESG principles mean you get to support genocidal regimes in Asia, but you must oppose colonial warmongering in Europe?” one shareholder questioned. In fact, a third of shareholders are now requesting that Disney take action against China despite profits.

Why is a company becoming entrenched in a state bill surrounding teaching children about sexuality? How will this bode for shareholders? Interestingly, Socrates noted in advance that this would be a volatile week for Disney:

“The week of March 28th with the opposite trend implied thereafter into the week of April 4th which is a Directional Change.”

DeSantis is now considering repealing their ability to operate as an independent district. “Disney has alienated a lot of people now,” DeSantis said at a West Palm Beach press conference. “And so the political influence they’re used to wielding, I think has dissipated. And so the question is, why would you want to have special privileges in the law at all? And I don’t think that that we should.”

Time will tell whether Disney has sacrificed itself for the woke agenda.

DeSantis Defends Vulnerable Children – Groomers are Outraged

Armstrong Economics Blog/Politically Correct Re-Posted Apr 4, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida has signed the Parental Rights in Education Act, which the media refers to as the “don’t say gay act,” despite those words not appearing in the bill. The act will save young children from kindergarten through third grade from being taught about adult sexuality and gender theory. “We will make sure that parents can send their kids to school to get an education, not an indoctrination,” DeSantis said.

While some believe this bill is homophobic, this is the type of curriculum it is aiming to prevent:

Children should not be asked to express or discuss their sexuality. I am not sure why this needs to be stated. The media is outraged, claiming that DeSantis is harming the youth by preventing young impressionable children from discussing alternative families and lifestyles. Even President Joe Biden called the bill “hateful” and stated that his administration would be closely monitoring Florida public schools.

A statement from Disney:

Weeks after it was revealed that over 100 Disney employees were running a human trafficking operation, the company has come out to state that they are opposing the bill. “For them to say that they’re going to actively work to repeal substantive protections for parents as a company that is supposedly marketing its services to parents with young children? I think they crossed a line,” DeSantis stated. “They support sexualizing kids in kindergarten, they support injecting woke gender ideology into second-grade classrooms, they support enabling schools to ‘transition’ students to a ‘different gender’ without the knowledge of the parent, much less without the parent’s consent.” Disney has no problem censoring movies for their conservative Chinese audience and has no problem with their cruise lines sailing to countries that prohibit LGBTQ communities.

As a reminder, tax dollars go towards funding public schools. Unfortunately, the average American cannot afford to send their child to private school. The average cost of private elementary school tuition costs $10,994 per year and the private high school average is $15,535. There is a clear agenda in America to remove gender constructs, with even the next Supreme Court nominee stating she cannot define a “woman.” Why is everyone from the POTUS to major corporations outraged that children cannot be taught about sex? The government wants to take over the parental role. There is something sinister behind the curtain.

WHO: COVID Vaccine Can Cause Hearing Loss

Armstrong Economics Blog/Tyranny Re-Posted Apr 4, 2022 by Martin Armstrong

The skeptics were concerned about the long-term effects of the mRNA vaccines. “Safe and effective” was the slogan promoted to the masses as the major pharmaceutical companies refused to reveal their initial studies. We know that the vaccine can cause heart inflammation (myocarditis), menstrual changes, anaphylaxis, thrombosis, Guillain-Barré Syndrome, and even death.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is reporting on a new side effect: hearing loss. The WHO has recorded 367 cases of tinnitus and 164 cases of hearing loss. The Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine specifically was responsible for around 80% of reported cases, according to the WHO. Hearing loss is not currently listed as a side effect of the vaccine, and only the Janssen product has been flagged for causing tinnitus (primarily in women).

Yet, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) still asks people as young as five to take the “safe and effective” vaccine. I fear that additional ailments will present themselves as time goes on. Bottom line: these vaccines are not safe. Governments can no longer ignore this fact, and yet, they are continually forcing the masses to take countless doses of this poison.

“Trust the science!” Oh, sorry, what was that? I did not hear you.

Ukraine President Zelenskyy Makes a Broadcast Appearance at the Grammy Awards

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on April 3, 2022 | Sundance

It was February 24, 2022, when Deputy National Security Advisor Daleep Singh appeared at the White House podium to announce the official U.S. strategy for Ukraine.  Singh boiled down geopolitical power to a cultural issue of social likeability when he said, “In this century, strategic power is increasingly measured and exercised by economic strength, by technological sophistication and your story – who you are, what your values are.”

Singh stated the quiet part out loud.  The White House views “strategic power” through the prism of social influence and likeability.  Within that approach pop icons are used as influencers and ambassadors, and Hollywood is the quintessential State Department tool.

So, it does not come as a surprise to see the U.S. government promoting the propaganda behind President Zelenskyy on the Grammy Awards broadcast. {Direct Rumble LinkWATCH:

Unfortunately, once you see the strings on the marionettes, you can never return to that moment in the performance when you did not see them.  Notice how Zelenskyy talks in short metaphors and soundbites for encapsulation and distribution.

That script was written for him to deliver by the same performance artists within the U.S. Department of State and intelligence community.  It is 100% constructed propaganda intended to support the ‘strategic power’ mission as outlined by Deputy National Security Advisor Daleep Singh.

These are the same people who created “#BringBackOurGirls” and “#KonySurrender” as strategic narratives intended to sway popular public opinion. This performance was made for a gullible television audience. There is nothing wrong with seeing through the scheme.

The harder they push this propaganda; the more people wake up to the manipulation.  It’s a vicious cycle.  The more desperate they become, the harder they push the propaganda.  It’s one of the structural flaws that always exists in these operations.  You are not crazy for noticing it.  Trust your instincts.

Sunday Talks, Hillary Creeps Out from the Catacombs to Demand More War and Bloodlust

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on April 3, 2022  | Sundance

If there’s one political figure who should remain stewing over her toxic cauldron in the dark recesses of political caves, it’s Hillary.  The same creature who purposefully destroyed the nation of Libya by organizing a NATO invasion, has no credibility to discuss foreign invasion by Russia.

Regardless of the outcome in Ukraine, whenever the conflict finishes, there will not be modern human slave markets in the streets, widespread graphic violence using machetes, race-driven and tribal genocide and tens of thousands of people continually shoveled by the dump trucks into mass graves.  That’s the current status of ‘life’ in the north African country of Libya following the aftermath of Hillary’s war.

I would not normally even think about sharing any viewpoint from this evil and maniacal creature if it wasn’t for Clinton recently reopening the Clinton Foundation and Clinton Global Initiative so she could scrape off some of the $14 billion in aid congress has allocated for Ukraine.  Watch as she starts to frame her attack position and position Saudi Arabia, India, parts of Europe and China as targets for more “diplomatic leverage,” vis-a-vis blackmail sanctions, if they do not adhere to her call for the destruction of Russia.

She’s transparently trying to promote her influence – Tony Blinken was her former protege’ – as a potential influence broker if countries want to avoid being on the wrong side of the Biden-Blinken operation in Ukraine.  Clinton is the Al Sharpton of shakedowns using geopolitical blackmail.

German Grocers Warn Consumers of Significant Second Wave Price Increases

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on April 3, 2022 | Sundance

The inflationary impact to any specific country is directly proportionate to the scale of the government intervention in the COVID lockdown spend.  Almost all of the nations who deployed the WEF program are in the same inflationary position.

The U.S., U.K., New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the EU, within which Germany is the largest economy, all followed the WEF spending instructions.

(Germany) – According to the German Retail Association (HDE), consumers should prepare for another wave of price hikes for everyday goods and groceries.

Even before the outbreak of war in Ukraine, prices had risen by about five per cent “across the product range” as a result of increased energy prices, HDE President Josef Sanktjohanser told the Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung on Friday.

With Russia’s invasion hitting economies and the supply chain harder, yet another series of price increases is on the horizon. “The second wave of price increases is coming, and it will certainly be in double figures,” Sanktjohanser warned. (read more)

Hungarian Prime Minister and Economic Nationalist Viktor Orban Easily Wins Reelection – NATO, Globalists, World Economic Forum and Western War Alliance Very Upset

Posted originally on the conservative tree house on April 3, 2022 | Sundance

The working class of Hungary have spoken. The people are not going to stop supporting Prime Minister Viktor Orban, their grandfatherly, pragmatic economic nationalist and populist leader.  However, the U.S., NATO, Globalists, World Economic Forum and western alliance group, run by and from the CIA/State Dept operational headquarters, are not happy. Not happy at all.

Orban represents a visible middle finger to the interests of the one world order society, as he refuses to accept the era of western controlled “democratic norms.”  You know, the modern catch phrase popularized by those who weaponize democracy in order to attain totalitarian objectives via modern multinational fascism (see: COVID mandates, rules and lockdowns).

HUNGARY – (via Guardian) – Hungary’s prime minister, Viktor Orbán, has declared victory in national elections, claiming a mandate for a fourth term following a campaign dominated by rows over the war in neighbouring Ukraine.

In a 10-minute speech to officials and supporters of his Fidesz party at an election night event in Budapest, Orbán addressed a crowd cheering “Viktor!” and declared it was a “huge victory” for his party.

“We won a victory so big that you can see it from the moon, and you can certainly see it from Brussels,” he said.

While votes were still being tallied, it appeared clear that the question was not whether Fidesz would take the election, but by how much. With nearly 75% of votes counted, it appeared possible that Fidesz would win another constitutional majority in the 199-member parliament.

It has previously had a two-thirds supermajority that has enabled it to radically restructure the country’s politics and social policies during its 12-year reign, transforming Hungary into a self-styled “illiberal democracy” that has flouted western norms and frequently been at odds with the EU.

A similar victory would come despite mounting international criticism of Orbán for failing to wholeheartedly condemn Vladimir Putin over Russia’s war on Ukraine. (read more)

In the big picture, Viktor Orban’s easy victory makes NATO war with Russia harder for Joe Biden…

….So, they hate him.
