A Conversation On Carbon Dioxide and Climate

This post contains a link to a discussion on Climate and Carbon Dioxide. The image below is a screen shot of the home page where the Conversation will be posted on Nov 6th and 7th 2021

Yesterday, I recorded a presentation that will be broadcast this weekend. The subject is Carbon Dioxide and why it is not changing the temperature of the planet.

Here is how to hear it …

On this Saturday (Nov 6th) and Sunday (Nov 7th) it will be live at 11 am and 8 pm on both days. There are two segments with a commercial in between so its roughly an hour long. To hear it you need to log onto this website …

Then on the right side of the main page you will see a box (you may have to scroll down) and on the left side of the box is a graphic of a woman with earphones on, and on the right side is a speaker with the word Live under it. Click on the box and at the designated time the presentation will start.

In addition there is post there using my work. I had no idea they were going to be using one of my papers as well. As I have been complaining about what SCOTUS did ever since they Ruled Carbon Dioxide was a pollutant. It was a major victory for the Marxists that run the Green movement as the court agreed that Carbon Dioxide was a dangerous pollutant and must be regulated.

In the center of the main page there is column for a blog post. I don’t know how often they post one but the post you want to is is titled “SCOTUS Decision to Review EPA’s Authority to Regulate Carbon Dioxide is a Victory” It is not the current post at this time so you will have to scroll down until you come to it.

Spending 0.7% Global GDP on Climate Change

Armstrong Economics Blog/Climate Re-Posted Nov 1, 2021 by Martin Armstrong

The current flooding in Glasgow, Scotland, aligns with cyclical weather patterns. Of course, climate change alarmists are causing shockwaves of panic throughout the media. As you can see from the images above, fears regarding the weather have prevailed throughout time. The heavy rain is occurring days prior to the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) and the media is using it as an opportunity to point to why more funding is necessary. The meeting was canceled last year due to COVID, but their agenda remains the same. Every developed country is expected to pay $100 billion to combat cyclical weather patterns in developing countries.

On the conference website, they explain precisely how they plan to finance their agenda:

Ahead of COP26, we must work to unleash the trillions in private finance that are needed to power us towards net zero by the middle of the century.

To do this, every financial decision needs to take climate into account:

  1. This includes all private investment decisions, but also all spending decisions that countries and international financial institutions are making as they roll out stimulus packages to rebuild economies from the pandemic.
  2. Companies need to be transparent about the risks and opportunities that climate change, and the shift to a net zero economy pose to their business.
  3. Central banks and regulators need to make sure that our financial systems can withstand the impacts of climate change and support the transition to net zero.
  4. Banks, insurers, investors and other financial firms need to commit to ensuring their investments and lending is aligned with net zero.

This is part of the new world order. They expect all central banks, financial institutions, investors, and basically all moneychangers to agree to their plan. Where will this money go? Will they throw it at the sun in hopes of providing some shade? Only so much can be spent on green infrastructure. “The world is currently not on track to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees. The targets announced in Paris would result in warming well above 3 degrees by 2100 compared to pre-industrial levels,” the COP website states. “If we continue as we are, temperatures will carry on rising, bringing even more catastrophic flooding, bush fires, extreme weather, and destruction of species.”

A non-profit group called the Climate Policy Initiative estimates that climate-related finance amounted to $632 billion per year between 2019 and 2020, accounting for 0.7% of the world’s GDP, but they are asking for significantly more money. Even wealthy nations cannot afford to spend this amount on a project that will fail from the outset. Yet, the theme of this year’s event will be shaming rich nations for not meeting their $100 billion obligations and paying their “fair share” as they tinker on the brink of recession. We can cut down on pollution and other things of that nature, but we cannot prevent the next flood or extreme weather event. It is asinine to believe that we can play God and change the weather cycle.

The Nord Stream 2 Pipeline Delay

Armstrong Economics Blog/Energy Re-Posted Oct 29, 2021 by Martin Armstrong

(Nord Stream Pipeline)

European Union leaders are scrambling for solutions to the energy crisis, but their feared friend from the East has reminded them that a solution exists. According to the Associated Press, gas prices in the EU have spiked to 95 euros from about 19 euros per megawatt-hour in the past year. Around 90% of gas is imported to the EU, and Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo said that the only long-term solution is to invest in renewable energy. “And in the long term, there is only one solution — invest more in renewable energy so we are less vulnerable to price fluctuations for fossil fuels,” he said.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban blamed the Green Deal plan for higher prices, which aims to reduce greenhouse emissions by 55% by 2030, with the goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050. Some leaders are pointing to the use of nuclear energy, such as France, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia. However, the 27-nation bloc has not designated nuclear power as a sustainable investment yet.

(Nord Stream 2 Pipeline)

In comes Putin and the controversial Nord Stream 2 pipeline that would carry much-needed gas from Russia to the EU beneath the Baltic Sea. “If the German regulator gives approval tomorrow, supplies of 17.5 billion cubic meters of gas will start the day after tomorrow,” Putin said. The Russian president has previously criticized the EU for not signing long-term contracts and failing to work with Russia on energy trade. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that relying on gas from Russia makes the bloc “vulnerable,” but it seems that they are already vulnerable and in a worsening situation with no solution in sight. EU energy ministers are set to meet in December, where they are likely to kick around solutions while ignoring the one that is a pipeline away.

China Rationing Diesel

Armstrong Economics Blog/Energy Re-Posted Oct 29, 2021 by Martin Armstrong

China has begun to ration fuel amid the ongoing energy crisis. As reported by the BBC, trucks in China may only fill their tanks with 100 liters (10% capacity) of diesel, with other areas reportedly only allowing 25 liters. The city of Fuyang is limiting purchases and charging drivers a surcharge of up to 300 yuan to fill up their tanks. The fuel shortage will affect both domestic and international goods as trucks simply cannot drive to their destinations. Despite surging demand, all fossil fuels are in tight supply and have seen drastic upticks in price. Jeremy Stevens, Chief China Economist at Standard Bank, told the BBC from Beijing that companies have already begun using diesel generators to maintain factory operations. World leaders are urging this instant switch to renewable energy and net-zero emissions, but the technology does not currently exist to power the world. The energy crisis will contribute to supply shortages worldwide.

Google Announces They Will Monitor YouTube Videos For “Prohibited Claims” About Climate Change

Comrade rebels, the Ministry of Truth is here to guide you in your correct thoughts.   Google, the world’s largest internet search engine and owner of the YouTube platform, has announced their intent to demonetize any content providers who challenge scientific consensus on climate change and global warming.

According to CBS, any person who advances a “prohibited claim” will have ads on their their content removed.

CBS – “Google and YouTube will soon prohibit advertisements on content that “contradicts well-established scientific consensus around the existence and causes of climate change,” Google announced Thursday. The decision will prevent the creators of such content from earning ad revenue from Google.

The advertisement ban, which will be implemented next month, targets “content referring to climate change as a hoax or a scam, claims denying that long-term trends show the global climate is warming, and claims denying that greenhouse gas emissions or human activity contribute to climate change,” Google said. The platforms will also ban ads that promote that type of content.”

[…] Google said it will “look carefully” at whether a piece of content is making a prohibited claim or simply discussing it, and said many climate-related topics —like debates on climate policies, the different impacts of climate change and new research — will still be acceptable. (more)

Energy Crisis Hitting for the Winters of 2021 and 2022

Armstrong Economics Blog/Energy Re-Posted Oct 7, 2021 by Martin Armstrong

The greatest problem I have is that those in power are evolving to the lowest possible denomination. Thirty years ago, I would have intelligent conversations with heads of state. Those days are gone. If I met with Biden, I would probably have to bring a napkin to wipe the drool from his face.

I think it is time we nominal “Dumb & Dumber” for President/Vice President. I think they have a better than 50/50 chance of doing a far better job than this crop of politicians on both sides of the fence on a global level. We have had Biden immediately cut off oil production because he is for saving the planet, but the alternative energy is not ready. Then he turns to OPEC to increase production. How many Americans lost their lives in Cheney’s war to get control of oil?

Then in Europe, the government was against being reliant on Russia and the whole gas pipeline dispute. Because of the Japanese reactor crisis, Merkel outlawed nuclear energy. Wind power has failed so the result is that now the Civil Protection Office has unveiled an ad campaign focusing on all aspects of crisis preparation! They are soon to release a targeted strategy addressing stockpiling, extreme weather, power failure and emergency baggage. Then these amazing officials are releasing a new book entitled “Cooking Without Electricity.”

Here is a look at our more recent climate data. The lowest temperature in Oxford England since 1853 took place in 1895 and the highest temperature was in 1990. In part, the global warming people only look at the data post-1850 and conclude the Industrial Revolution is to blame. However, temperatures peaked in 1990 and have been gradually declining. With a solar minimum, there will be more volcanoes and colder temperatures. This warns that their cutting of all fossil fuels is coming at the worse possible time.

Obviously, not only will the weather turn colder, not warmer, but they are already preparing German citizens for blackouts arriving in the wintertime. Here we have the world’s sixth-largest economy preparing for an energy shortage crisis. Germany can no longer power itself to protect its own citizens because of Merkel’s decisions. Who has she been advised by? The truth is that this problem of an energy crisis is European-wide. This should make the next two winters very interesting.

If Politics Are Downstream From Pop Culture, Then What is FJB Telling Democrats

Andrew Breitbart famously said that politics was downstream from pop culture.  Andrew’s ability to engage any audience that generally didn’t care about politics, while displaying the Machiavellian manipulators in a way that was brutally effective, made him an enemy to those who avoid sunlight.

What we are seeing amid college football games, and recently any venue where a large audience is assembling, is really quite remarkable.  The cultural shift within the modern political sphere was triggered by Donald Trump; his election was the biggest middle finger to the elites, and ultimately the scale of his support amid a global population that was disenfranchised is why they needed to eliminate him.

The leftist Marxist’s have power.  However, their unquenchable lust for power, specifically showcased in their COVID-19 reaction, has put them in a place where they are in power but losing the cultural argument.

Free people can only tolerate and internalize so much frustration before it starts to come out. Specifically, because frustration is now palpable anger, the sense that screams freedom has become snarky, raw, unapologetic and now often vulgar.

Yeah, it’s a weird thing to find alignment with vulgarity, but when your life and liberty is on the line… well, you fight like the third monkey on the ramp to Noah’s ark – and you appreciate anyone that stands beside you.

If  “F**k Joe Biden” bothers you, don’t watch this (salty language):
