President Trump Reacts to IG Report on James Comey Conduct as FBI Director….

The IG report on the behavior of FBI Director James Comey clearly validated President Trump’s 2017 decision to fire him.   Mr. Comey is described as a highly self-interested person within the department who saw himself above all rules applied to others.

Today, President Trump tweeted about the IG findings:

From the CTH review of the report content, there is absolutely no doubt James Comey used his memos akin to FD-302 investigative reports from an FBI agent. Meaning, from beginning-to-end James Comey considered himself an investigative agent against the President-elect and then President Trump.

Note: From Comey making a record of his encounter with the target, President-elect Trump, should be: “treated like FISA derived information in a counterintelligence investigation.”

This outlook highlights James Comey’s disposition.  During this January 6th operation, Comey was an active FBI agent gathering evidence for later use. The collected intelligence would be shared with the FBI team via memo #1.

Remember the Lisa Page Texts from the same date?

The FBI likely redacted almost all of that text because it outlines the distribution of the evidence Comey was collecting. Comey’s memos were essentially FD-302 reports, and the officials within the DOJ and FBI didn’t want that exposed. The Lisa Page text was heavily redacted because it would have shown the January 6th encounter was an operation against Trump.

Every encounter, and every aspect of every action within that encounter, was conducted in what Comey perceived as an official investigative capacity.

President Trump was the target of Comey’s operations and he wrote his memos as investigative notes therein. Example: Comey ran the January 6th, 2017, operation:

So the “small group”: Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Page, Baker, Priestap, Rybicki, et al, were running a counterintelligence operation against the incoming administration.

There are parts of the IG report highlighting a stunning amount of self-interest.

Example: Who made the decision(s) about what “was” or what “was not” classified? Or, put another way: who was making the internal decisions about Comey’s exposure to legal risk for sharing his investigative notes (memos) outside the department?

The answer is the same “small group” who were carrying out the operation:

James Baker, Peter Strzok, Andrew McCabe, James Rybicki and Lisa Page were determining what parts of James Comey’s investigative notes needed to be classified.

The corrupt FBI was in position to police itself. This is not a conflict of interest, it is better described as a profound conflict of self-interest.

The information the ‘small group‘ wanted to use to frame the target would be visible, not classified; however, any material that would outline the construct of their corruption in targeting the target would be hidden, classified. You can’t make this stuff up folks.

The “small group” WAS the sources and methods they were protecting.  They were protecting themselves.

Everything needed to understand that level of corruption is outlined in the way the IG report discusses the handling of James Comey’s investigative notes (ie. memos). AND the fact that James Comey kept them hidden, yes hidden. Read this stuff:

First, “no hard copies of any of the memos were found in Comey’s FBI office.”:

So, if the memos were not held in Director James Comey’s official FBI office, the next logical question is where were they?

Well, when Special Agents went to James Comey’s house, he still kept them hidden and never informed the agents:

It is worth noting James Rybicki went to Comey’s house along with three supervisory special agents to pick up FBI property.  Prior to this event Comey had already given Rybicki the memos as evidence in the case against Trump.  However, neither Comey not Rybicki told the SSA’s about the physical copies of the memos at the residence.

If Mr. Altruism, James Comey, was simply fulfilling the duty of a concerned and dedicated FBI Director, why not tell the FBI agents -picking up FBI records- that he had copies of FBI investigative notes in his “personal safe” while they were there?

What honorable justification exists for keeping them hidden from valid investigators?

Obviously we are not the only ones able to see the sketchy nature of this construct. In fact, an internal FBI whistleblower came forward soon after that search of Comey’s home to request official “whistleblower status protection” from the IG.

Think logically…. What would prompt someone inside the FBI; who at some point gained access to the Comey memos; to request ‘whistleblower protected status’?

Doesn’t the “whistleblower request” itself indicate the requesting FBI official saw something nefarious in the way this was all going down?

Who was that ‘whistleblower’?

Well, it has to be someone who actually gained possession of those memos right?…. this is not a big group. Second, we only need to read a few more pages of the IG report to see who it was:

The “whistleblower” was almost certainly the Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) described in page 38 as above.

The memos were “stored” in a “reception area“, and in locked drawers in James Rybicki’s office. [“Drawer safes” are silly FBI legal terms for fancy locked drawers] Also note…

“Reception area“? “May 15th“?

Well, (#1) apparently no-one wanted to admit their knowledge of the hot potato of investigative evidence (Comey memos).  That admission would outline them as participatory members in carrying out the targeting of then President Trump.

Those investigative notes (memos) were not in “the office of the FBI Director” on May 10th, when the SSAs were there searching the last time,… for some mysterious reason.. they, uh,… well, they were discovered… in the “reception area“… yeah, yeah, that’s the ticket! Right under the four month old copy of People Magazine, n’ stuff.

….ARE YOU FRIGGIN’ KIDDING ME WITH THIS?

…AND (#2) the very next morning, using the copies of the memos that were left hidden in Comey’s residence, GUESS what happened?…

Now we see why the FBI Supervisory Special Agent in charge in charge of inventorying Comey records asked the IG for official “whistleblower status.”

The SSA agent was surrounded warning signs of corruption in the FBI executive suites.  On May 10th, they were kept hidden.  On May 12th they were kept hidden.  On May 15th Rybicki finally told the SSA where they were; and on May 16th Comey told his friend Daniel Richman to leak the content to the New York Times.

Of course the SSA in charge of inventorying Comey’s records gave the Inspector General the seven memos, asked for whistleblower protection, and likely explained to the IG the way they were handled and produced by FBI officials was extremely concerning.

Hurricane Dorian Intensifies – Category 4 Storm, 140mph Winds – Evacuations and Warnings Begin…

As anticipated Hurricane Dorian has gained strength.  With winds of 140mph, Dorian is a dangerous category-4 storm. All interests in Florida are advised to pay close attention. Discussion follows update:

At 1100 PM EDT (0300 UTC), the center of Hurricane Dorian was located near latitude 25.5 North, longitude 71.4 West.  Dorian is moving toward the west-northwest near 10 mph (17 km/h).

A slower west-northwestward to westward motion should begin tonight and continue into early next week. On this track, the core of Dorian should move over the Atlantic well north of the southeastern and central Bahamas tonight and tomorrow, be near or over the northwestern Bahamas on Sunday, and be near the Florida east coast late Monday.

Data from a NOAA Hurricane Hunter aircraft indicate that the maximum sustained winds have increased to near 140 mph (220 km/h) with higher gusts. Dorian is a category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Some additional strengthening is possible tonight and Saturday. Although fluctuations in intensity are possible early next week, Dorian is expected to remain a powerful hurricane during the next few days. (link)

The current forecast path has shifted slightly North and East.  If this general projection holds true through Saturday those below (south of) Lake Okeechobee may not be impacted by the most damaging part of the storm.  However, everyone needs to pay close attention to your local authorities and heed any evacuation advice.

A category four storm is very serious. Currently those winds extend outward 30 miles from the center; so the buzzsaw effect is approximately 60 miles wide.  Anyone inside the buzzsaw diameter will have damage of varying degrees depending on construction and variables therein.   Utility poles will snap, and trees will be uprooted.

We have a lot of Treepers in the path of this storm. If you need assistance, use the comments section of any Dorian Update thread to reach out, or use the email address in the upper right of the site.

Right now you are in control.  By now you should have a solid plan in place.  Work that plan, stay busy and don’t get caught up in the national hysteria.  Stay updated via your local news stations. Saturday looks like the key day impact zones will be identified.

Reach out to your neighbors; touch-base and check to see if they are okay or need anything.  The community restoration begins before the storm arrives. Look out for each-other.  This is why preparation and communication is key.

Regarding any evacuation plan, please pay attention to your local officials who will be coordinating with state Dept. of Transportation.  As the path and impact zone of the storm becomes more predictable your local officials will alert to best route for evacuation.

For those in the cone of uncertainty; remember, planning and proactive measures taken now can significantly reduce stress in the days ahead.  Plan when to make the best decision on any evacuation (if needed) consider Saturday mid-day the decision time-frame; Sunday morning at the latest. As a general rule: take shelter from wind – but evacuate away from water.

  • Determine Your Risk
  • Make a Written Plan
  • Develop and Evacuation Plan
  • Inventory hurricane/storm supplies.
  • Withdraw cash based on plan/need.

DAY TWO (Saturday)

  • Get Storm Update
  • Assemble/Purchase Hurricane Supplies
  • Contact Insurance Company – Updates
  • Secure Important Papers.
  • Strengthen and Secure Your Home
  • Make Evacuation Decision for your Family.
  • Fill freezer with 3/4 full water jugs.

DAY THREE (Sunday)

  • Get Storm Update
  • Re-Evaluate your Supplies based on storm update
  • Finish last minute preparation
  • Plan for a minimum of THREE DAYS without power
  • Do all of your laundry.
  • Pack a suitcase as if traveling for 3 days, EVEN IF YOU DON’T leave.
  • ¹Sanitize tub and/or trash cans for water.
  • Assist Your Neighbors
  • If Needed – Evacuate Your Family

¹Tip: Place new trash bag in large trash can(s).  Place trash can in each bathtub or shower stall.   Unscrew shower head to quickly fill trash cans with water.  If you lose power you can use that water supply for general hygiene, and/or to flush toilets (via 1 gal bucket).

Save your bottled water for drinking and cooking.  Use lined trash cans of water for cleaning an hygiene purposes.  [If you have swimming pool, that’ll work too]

♦ Test everything.  Flashlights, radios, battery operated equipment etc.

♦ Charge everything.  Phones, computers and battery operated devices.

♦ Stage everything. Plan for worst. Select ‘safest room’, or largest closet, preferably without windows.  Place your critical items in this one stop location.

♦ Prepare food in advance.  In the final 24 hours, cook everything.  Cooked food lasts longer and is easy to reheat.  Make sandwiches etc.   Have high energy food readily available.

♦ Turn down your freezer, and/or lower fridge temp.  Fill all empty space in your freezer and fridge with bottled water (it will help hold temp down during power outage).

♦ Take a single cup full of water and place in freezer.  When frozen solid, place a coin or button on top of the frozen water.  If you evacuate, upon return if you lost power you will be able to tell from looking at the cup or glass.  If the coin or button is on the bottom of the glass/cup you know the freezer thawed at some point [throw out the food].  If the coin or button is still on the top of the ice, then everything in freezer should be safe.

♦ Place your important papers and extra money in your packed suitcase.  Make any emergency exit easier – think in advance.  Back your car into the garage, and after door closes carefully place your front bumper so it barely touches the door.  This will help reinforce.  Additionally, in absolute worst case scenario, you drive out through the door.

♦ Never run a generator in your house. EVER. Not even for a few minutes. Not even in the garage.  Just don’t do it. All generators must run outside. If you plan to use a generator, pre-position your extension cords prior to the storm and plan out their use.

♦ Have snacks and games pre-staged for kids in the “safe room”.   If you have pets, where will they be safe and secure?  If you use a large kennel for transport, set it up in advance or stage in your vehicle (likely an SUV) in advance.  Pets need food and water also.

♦ Prepare everything as a family.  Have the kids participate in all of the planning and staging, based on age and ability. Make it fun, and explain to them why you are doing things. Involve them in positive proactive activity; this will also help them stay calm.

Communication is important.  Update your friends and family contact list. Stay in touch with family and friends, let them know your plans. Select a single point of contact for communication from you that all others can then contact for updates if needed.

Check your shutters and window coverings; test your generator; re-organize and familiarize yourself with all of your supplies and hardware. Check batteries in portable tools; locate tools you might need after the storm; walk your property to consider what you may need to do based on the storms path. All decisions are yours. You are in control.

Consider travel plans based on roads and traffic density. Being proactive now helps to keep any future stress level low. You are in control. If you have pets, additional plans may be needed.

Protect your family first, then help your friends and neighbors.

Above all else, stay calm.  Actively challenge yourself to stay calm regardless of the hysteria and/or alarm around you.  Stay calm and work your plan.

Jack Petsche – Miss-leads Brecksville Residents


Below is a link to a U tube video of Jack Petsche at a meeting (I think it was in Shaker Hts. in 2015) talking about how his group disguised the Move to Amend initiative in Brecksville as Democracy Day.  It’s alarming that a Move to Amend leader actually brags on camera about deceiving fellow citizens – and he’s running for Brecksville City Council.

Voters should know that he made these statements, as heard on the video:

“We didn’t use the phrase Move to Amend.   We didn’t spell it out – we used shorthand but you all know what we are here for”. 

“If we’d just left it at we want the city to say we support a Constitutional Amendment to say corporations are not people and money is not equal to speech we would have failed”.

This short video shows Jack Petsche explaining to a group of Cuyahoga County residents how to trick the state into allowing citizens petitions into the voting system in a targeted city, in this case Brecksville, Ohio where I live. The event that Petsche is talking about is the local election on November 2, 2015 where Petsche was trying to find a way to get support to propose in Brecksville an amendment to the US Constitution. What he found was that he couldn’t actually say that so he found a way to create a system in Brecksville to do it by tricking the citizens and the Board of Elections by calling his initiative Democracy Day.  I was involved in that election promoting candidates that I felt would benefit the city and outside  one of the poling places I ran into Petsche who was pushing his Democracy day imitative.   I had a discussion with him that evening and also watched him interface with residence coming in to vote. I found that his spoken words did not match what he was actually trying to do — which was to change the US Constitution.

Petsche like most progressive politicians and activists follow the principles first documented in Saul Alinsky’s “Rule’s for Radicals.” Some of which are: never tell the truth, hide your real agenda, and demonize your opponent at ever chance you get.  In other words use deceit and misdirection to get what you want!

When I was in the Army as a Green Beret office in the mid 1960’s we studied Marxism since it was our primary mission to combat the expansion of the U.S.S.R., this was called the Cold War. I can tell you now that for all practical purposes the Old Democrat party has been taken over over those that believe in  Marxists  principles which they now hid as Socialism. Socialism is a word used with the connotation of a system that leads to a Utopia.  Since humans are not perfect we can not develop  a system that is perfect and all attempts of creating a Utopia have resulted in tens of millions of people dying in that attempt. We do not want to go down road ever!

The Move to Amend (MTA) movement was started in California by hard core progressives and it would seem it either came out of or was part of the occupy movement.. I would not be surprised if they were not also associated with directly or indirectly with Back Life’s Mater BLM  movement.  All of these and other like groups are designed to destroy social order o that that what a different kind of America and have their way. There is no good associated in any of these groups as they all have one one goal which is to create a socialist state with no limiting constitution. Ingratitude of the Immigrants

President Trump has been unarguably the most pro-Jewish, pro-Israel President we’ve ever had, surpassing George Washington, John Adams, Abraham Lincoln and Harry Truman.  His stand against Iran (vociferous enemy of Israel), finally moving the US embassy to Jerusalem, cutting funds to the PA and closing the PLO office in Washington, his donations to Jewish causes, and developing housing for Russian-Jewish immigrants in Brooklyn are just some of the points, but many non-Orthodox American Jews are calling him antisemitic.  It is primarily the Democrat Jews who appear antisemitic when they continue to support their party whose members explicitly express their hatred of Israel and Jews worldwide.  It may be that their desire to distance themselves from their heritage in eastern Europe and Israel has rendered them irrational, and psychological projection has them denying their own impulses as they attribute them to others – specifically to President Trump.

Most recently, President Trump spoke out against the antisemitism spewed by Muslim Congresswomen Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, and was himself accused of bias.   It is time to review the backgrounds of both women who are recognized as Islamic extremists and antisemites by such as Senator Lindsey Graham, Speaker Newt Gingrich, media personalities Mark Thiessen and Rush Limbaugh, as well as by Imam Tawhidi, who added Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to the lot.

  • October 2015, Rashida Tlaib joined and praised activists who support terrorist Rasmeah Odeh, who is guilty of the deadly 1969 bombing in Jerusalem.
  • December 2017, Tlaib shared a Facebook post with Linda Sarsour in support of 17-yr-old Palestinian Ahed Tamimi, who assaulted an IDF soldier and promotes stabbings and suicide bombings.
  • February 2018, Tlaib joined Facebook group, Palestinian American Congress, which demonizes Jews and raised funds for her campaign.  She denied both the Holocaust and the Jewish historical claim to Israel.
  • August 2018, for her victory speech, Tlaib wrapped herself in a Palestinian flag and promised to “fight against every racist and oppressive structure that needs to be dismantled,” later telling the UK’s Channel 4 News that she would vote against US military aid to Israel.  Despite her own foreign garb, she accused Jewish Americans of dual loyalty and has since established a record of Jew-hatred and an affinity for radical Islam.
  • January 3, 2019, in a MoveOn.org reception, Tlaib warned that the President’s days were numbered, and she’d “impeach the motherfu**er.”  She took her oath on the Koran, which is the antithesis of our Bible and Constitution, and affixed a sticker “Palestine” to replace Israel on her wall map.
  • A guest at Tlaib’s swearing-in ceremony and private dinner was Abbas Hamideh, who equates Zionism with Nazism, and who voiced his support for Hassan Nasrallah, violent murderer of an Israeli Jew and his 4-year-old daughter.
  • During the week of January 2019, Tlaib condemned her congressional colleagues who did not support BDS against Israel.
  • March 2019, Tlaib posed with a Palestinian activist who had mourned the death of a Hamas murderer of a rabbi in Israel.
  • August 2019, Tlaib compared Israel to apartheid South Africa and Nazi Germany, and co-sponsored a resolution to support the BDS movement. She consistently shows herself to be an enemy of our ally Israel and the Jewish people.
  • Most recently, Tlaib shunned a bipartisan delegation to Israel in order to schedule her own trip to be led by the anti-Israel nongovernmental organization Miftah, where she could agitate for the anti-Israel boycott and use her disinvitation as an accusation against the Jewish state.
  • Claiming racism, oppression and injustice, Tlaib used the event of her entry rejection into Israel to enhance her victimhood, and a way of showing Gaza’s inhumane conditions.  However, videos of interviews of her family show a healthy grandmother, free-standing home, and plentiful grounds with outdoor furniture on a lovely summer night.
  • Tlaib, Omar, AOC and Rep Prammila Jayapal co-sponsored a bill that accuses the Jewish state of torturing non-Jewish children; the bill was re-introduced by Rep. Beth McCollum.

Ilhan Omar claimed to love America but shows her disdain for our country at every turn with a decided detestation for Israel and the Jews.  She called herself the President’s “biggest nemesis”; said of the terrorist attacks on 9/11, “some people did something”; and wants our greatest ally, Israel, wiped off the face of the earth.  The following are examples of her words and deeds:

  • In November 2012, Omar called Israel an apartheid regime that “hypnotized the world” in order to conceal its “evil doings.”
  • In 2013, Omar said on PBS that she took a college course in terrorism, saying that the professor spoke with pride (his shoulders raised in intensity) about Al Qaeda and Hezbollah, but not when we say America.
  • During 2013-15, Omar, then a member of the Minneapolis City Council, acknowledged her friendship with Al-Shabab, a Somali jihad terror group.
  • Omar often characterized Israel as the “Jewish ISIS,’ on Arab-American television, comparing members of Hamas to Holocaust victims.
  • Following the 2013 terrorist bombing that killed ~70 people in a Kenyan shopping mall, Omar blamed the act on a reaction to American injustices, and how the world contributed to Islamic radicalization.
  • After her election to the MN House of Representatives, November 2016, Omar wrote a judge for leniency in the sentencing of nine Somali-born men found guilty of attempting to join ISIS, blaming their desire for violence on alienation.
  • In 2016, Omar wanted the University of MN to divest its Israel bonds, and in 2017, she opposed a bill designed to counter economic boycotts against Israel, likening Israel to apartheid South Africa.
  • In 2017, Omar was one of two MN House members (out of 129) to vote against a bill that would allow life-insurance companies to deny payments to beneficiaries of suicide terrorists, and one of four to oppose legislation to make it a felony for parents to subject their daughters to female genital mutilation (FGM).
  • After only five days of winning her congressional seat in 2018, Omar worked to institute BDS to financially cripple the state of Israel.
  • In February 2019, Omar tweeted that pro-Israel lobby AIPAC was guilty of paying politicians to favor Israel: “It’s all about the Benjamins, baby.”
  • March 2019, Omar’s disdain for Israel won praise from Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke.
  • March 2019, Omar was keynote speaker for an Hamas-linked CAIR benefit event, along with Hassan Shibley, who will not call out Hezbollah and Hamas as terrorist organizations.
  • April 2019, Omar called for the release of a senior Muslim Brotherhood member detained in Egypt.
  • July 2019, Omar, Tlaib and John Lewis co-sponsored House Resolution HR496 for BDS,  comparing Israel to apartheid South Africa and Nazi Germany.

There is no question that both Omar and Tlaib are antisemites who seek to destroy Israel and endanger Jews worldwide, and that the Democrat Jews who support those policies are collaborators.  Those who speak ill of President Trump and PM Netanyahu and side with the Marxist-Islamic ideology emanating from the Democrat party, who compare the southern-border invaders to the Holocaust’s Jewish refugees, and who failed to attend and celebrate the dedication of the US embassy in Jerusalem, Israel’s capital, cannot be judged otherwise.  Yes, President Trump’s honesty may sting, but it is nevertheless honesty.

According to Jewish law, the Democrat Jews are still Jews, but the betrayal of their own brethren and heritage confirm that they are not in consonance with the laws and morality of Judaism – their hearts are elsewhere.

Democrats Threat to Stack the Supreme Court to Impose Their Views Upon the Nation

QUESTION: Marty; What is your opinion on the Democrats threat to stack the Supreme Court if they win the presidency?

SK

ANSWER: I believe that the Supreme Court should be restructured. The Constitution ONLY created the Supreme Court and Congress could not shut it down. However, all other lower Federal courts are statutory, created by Congress. It was Congress that unconstitutionally refused to expand the Supreme Court and instead, granted it the right to pick and choose what cases it wants to hear. This, in my opinion, violated the Constitution because it was the ONLY court created by the Founding Fathers and not expanding it to hear every case presented, to me means you are denied a tripartite government.

The lower courts know that the odds of ever being reviewed are slim to negligible. So people can be tortured, abused, and they do not have to comply with the law by any means. There is no rule of law because each circuit has its own rules and precedents. In theory, the Supreme Court is supposed to resolve conflicts between the circuits. But that is purely on a discretionary basis. This current structure means you are denied the right to Equal Protection of the Law when each circuit acts independently.

However, the Democrats’ threat to pack the Court if it doesn’t rule the way they want is a threat to intimidate the court which is in itself UNCONSTITUTIONAL. The very reason Justices are appointed for life is because the King would fire judges who ruled against him. So here we have the Democrats demonstrating that they seek to impose by dictatorial powers their view on the majority of the people even if they cannot win the votes of the people. That is an outright affront to the separation of power and the very principle of a Free Society.

The Democratic lawmakers have openly threatened the court with political retribution if it did not dismiss a gun-rights related case in which they submitted a brief in support of New York City urging the Supreme Court to dismiss a case involving the transportation of locked and unloaded handguns. The Democrats brief stated that “courts do not undertake political ‘projects,’ or at least they should not.” The Second Amendment is not political – it is the Constitution.

Clearly, this attempt by Democrats to intimidate the Court is outrageous and very dangerous. It demonstrates how and why the United States will decline and fall. There is no respect for the rule of law. The polarization in the country is just off the charts and this will undoubtedly lead to violence.

I believe the Supreme Court should be restructured, but I would add sub-justices and allow the Supreme Court to hire them on the recommendations of the American Bar Association (ABA) who should nominate unanimously each candidate – not Congress or any President. It should be life in prison for anyone to lobby the ABA from any outside group to select a particular candidate. There should be a lower tier of courts in the Supreme Court and then the Nine Justices sorts out any conflicts. This will give the ABSOLUTE Right to be Heard which is the foundation of Due Process of Law.

The Due Process Right to be Heard comes actually from the Bible. The basis is that of Cain and Able where one kills his brother and obviously God knew what he did. He still summons Cain to give him a Right to be Heard despite the fact he knows he is guilty.

And the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother? And he said, “I do not know: am I my brother’s keeper?” And He said, “What have you done? Listen! your brother’s blood cries out to me from the soil. 11And so, cursed shall you be by the soil that gaped with its mouth to take your brother’s blood from your hand. 

Therefore, knowing that Cain killed Able, he still gave him a Right to be Heard which is the foundation of Due Process of Law. In my view, one can be tortured and abused in any Federal Court. If you are denied the Right to be Heard in the Supreme Court you will die denied everything that we ask citizens to defend in war with their lives.

What the Democrats are proposing is effectively the overthrow of Democracy and to impose one-party rule of law. This illustrates the importance of the 2020 elections. This polarization is going to explode in 2020.

A look at the voting records of individual justices clearly shows that they DO NOT rule on party lines. It was Chief Justice Roberts who upheld Obamacare as a Tax joining the Democrats when he was appointed by George W. Bush. It just does not work on party lines all the time.

Even a Justice appointed by a Republican would still uphold Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113 (1973), was a landmark decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in which the Court ruled that the U.S. Constitution protects a pregnant because it cannot interject religion into the rule of law. What if the court became mostly Muslim? Would divorce then be up to overrule along with Polygamy, the practice of marrying multiple spouses?

Religion cannot be allowed to become the rule of law then you deny the freedom of religion no matter how much it offends someone’s individual beliefs. That’s God’s job to make those types of judgments. He will sort them out – not politicians.

QUESTION: Hi Martin.. thanks so much for all your world/economic content and perspective. I was reading a comment you made recently concerning real estate mortgages. In the comments, you suggested carrying a low fixed-rate mortgage rather than paying off the property.

My question is what happens when a financial institution goes bust. You’ve taken out a mortgage on your house and deposited the excess money from the mortgage in your bank account. Doesn’t this expose you to bankruptcy risk? If the bank collapses you could potentially lose what’s not covered by FDIC insurance. In one case the house is paid off and the money is out of the banking system. In the second case, the money is held in the banking system and is at risk. Or am I missing something?

ANSWER: If you have cash at a bank, then you have the risk of the bank failing. However, if you are the borrower and the bank holds the mortgage, then as long as you are current on your payments it cannot foreclose. It will typically sell its assets to raise cash so your mortgage could be resold to another bank or an investment pool.

The problem you will have in a crisis is that real estate is illiquid. When I was growing up, a friend of my father owned virtually the entire main street in town. I recall talking to him and he said that he bought the entire main street in town back in 1937 because he had cash and bought it for 10% of its 1929 value.

If you borrowed and have the cash on the side, you will be in a far better position to sell liquid assets and buy the house at a discount if the bank is in trouble.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 105 mph (165 km/h) with higher gusts. Dorian is expected to become a major hurricane on Friday and remain an extremely dangerous hurricane through the weekend. (more)

Right now you are in control.  Have a solid plan, work that plan – stay busy, and don’t get caught up in the hysteria.  Try to avoid national media hype. Stay updated via your local news stations. Saturday looks like the key day impact zones will be identified.  Reach out to your neighbors; touch-base and check to see if they are okay or need anything.  I always say the community restoration begins before the storm arrives. Look out for each-other.

Regarding any evacuation plan, please pay attention to your local officials who will be coordinating with state Dept. of Transportation.  As the path and impact zone of the storm becomes more predictable your local officials will alert to best route for evacuation.

For those in the cone of uncertainty; remember, planning and proactive measures taken now can significantly reduce stress in the days ahead.  Plan when to make the best decision on any evacuation (if needed) consider Saturday mid-day the decision time-frame. As a general rule: take cover from wind – but evacuate away from water.

DAY ONE (Thursday/Friday)

  • Determine Your Risk
  • Make a Written Plan
  • Develop and Evacuation Plan
  • Inventory hurricane/storm supplies.
  • Withdraw cash based on plan/need.

DAY TWO (Friday/Saturday)

  • Get Storm Update
  • Assemble and Purchase Hurricane Supplies
  • Contact Insurance Company – Updates
  • Secure Important Papers.
  • Strengthen and Secure Your Home
  • Make Evacuation Decision for your Family.
  • Fill freezer with 3/4 full water jugs.

DAY THREE (Saturday/Sunday)

  • Get Storm Update
  • Re-Evaluate your Supplies based on storm update
  • Finish last minute preparation
  • Plan for a minimum of THREE DAYS without power
  • Assist Your Neighbors
  • If Needed – Evacuate Your Family

Communication is important.  Update your friends and family contact list. Stay in touch with family and friends, let them know your plans. Select a single point of contact for communication from you that all others can then contact for updates if needed.

Today/tomorrow are good days to organize your important papers, insurance forms, personal papers and place them in one ‘ready-to-go’ location.

Evaluate your personal hurricane and storm supplies; update and replace anything you might have used. Assess, modify and/or update any possible evacuation plans based on your location, and/or any changes to your family status.  Fill car with gasoline. Review prescriptions, refill if needed.

Check your shutters and window coverings; test your generator; re-organize and familiarize yourself with all of your supplies and hardware. Check batteries in portable tools; locate tools you might need; walk your property to consider what you may need to do based on the storms path. All decisions are yours. You are in control.

Consider travel plans based on roads and traffic density. Being proactive now helps to keep any future stress level low. You are in control. If you have pets, additional plans may be needed.

One possible proactive measure is to make a list of hotels further inland that you would consider evacuating to.  Make that list today and follow updates of the storms’ progress; make reservations tomorrow if determined.

Depending on information tomorrow you might call in advance and make a reservation; you can always cancel if not needed.  It is better to have a secondary evacuation place established in advance.  Being proactive reduces stress.  Even if you wait until much later to cancel, it is better to pay a cancellation fee (usually one night charge) than to not have a plan on where to go.   Trust me, it’s worth it.  Protect your family. Make the booking decision in the next 24 hrs.
